This article analyzes the evolution of English proficiency in economics graduates in Colombia in the 2010s using the results of the Saber Pro tests and the Relative Distributions Method (RDM). When comparing the distribution of the results at the beginning of the decade (2010-2011) with the end (2019-2020), significant changes were found in the distribution of the results. There is evidence of an increase in pre-intermediate to pre-advanced performance levels and a decrease in the basic level. In addition, differences were identified between official and non-official Higher Education Institutions. A clear relationship between accreditation and the distribution of results in English is also identified. This article contributes to the literature by being the first to study the evolution of the distribution of the results of performance levels in English using the RDM non-parametric technique. In addition, it is the first to present an analysis of the evolution of competence development during the 2010s.
