For many decades Japan enjoyed great success with its export oriented economy and the outsourcing of its foreign policy to the United States under the US security umbrella. Its role in the world was simple, and times were good. But times have changed. With the end of the Cold War, a shrinking domestic population, global instabilities after 9/11, the financial crisis, and other seismic shifts, Japan now faces a more complicated world. In this groundbreaking and provocative discussion, three foreigners who have lived and worked in Japan, a Canadian, a Frenchman and a Spaniard, argue that Japan has much to gain by pursuing a more engaged, outward-looking, multilateral posture in its region and globally. While the country will continue to enjoy good relations with the West, the time has come for Japan to embrace its Asian heritage and future, as well as its own potential contribution to world affairs. A globally engaged, more open Japan, the authors argue, is win win win: good for Japan, good for Asia, and good for the world. If Japan is truly to become a global citizen, however, it must not only reach out more to the world, it must also admit more of the world, new ideas, people, and capital from afar, on its own soil. But is Japan, are Japanese, prepared to do so?

En este trabajo se identifican y analizan las capacidades cognitivas y lingüísticas que son fundamentales para la formación democrática de los jóvenes: describir, explicar, justificar, interpretar y argumentar. Se trabaja sobre las estrategias más adecuadas para conseguir un buen aprendizaje del discurso social y se focaliza en el análisis de las características y en el valor educativo del diálogo en las clases de ciencias sociales, en el trabajo cooperativo y en los debates, como instrumento básico para aprender a argumentar. Se analizan las producciones escritas de los estudiantes. Finalmente se hacen unas valoraciones generales sobre los resultados obtenidos ; In this article we present a research on teaching and learning cognitive and linguistic abilities or communicative competence to learn and communicate social science. We identify and analyse the cognitive and linguistic abilities essential to a democratic education of youths: description, explanation, justification, interpretation and argumentation. We work on the most appropriate strategies to achieve a good learning of the social discourse and focus on the analysis of the characteristics and educational value of dialogue in social science classes, both in cooperative work and in debates, as a basic tool to learn to argue. A five year program of systematic multi-element geochemical exploration of the Catalonian Coastal Ranges has been initiated by the Geological Survey of Autonomic Government of Catalonia (Generalitat de Catalunya) and the Department of Geological and Geophysical Exploration (University of Barcelona). This paper reports the first stage results of this regional survey, covering an area of 530 km2 in the Montseny Mountains, NE of Barcelona (Spain). Stream sediments for metals and stream waters for fluoride were chosen because of the regional characteristics. Four target areas for future tactic survey were recognized after the prospect. The most important is a 40 km* zone in the Canoves-Vilamajor area, with high base metal values accompanied by Cd, Ni, Co, As and Sb anomalies. Keywords: Catalanides. Geochemical exploration. Although the site of Mas Gusó (province of Girona) has been interpreted as a Roman uilla, this is actually a public building. Its existence have to be contextualized within the frame of the structures established by the Roman authority for territorial control closely linked to the creation of a new road network and a tax collection system. We also analyse its survival until the 3rd century AD, which are closely related to the nearby city of Emporiae ; Tradicionalmente considerada una villa el yacimiento de Mas Gusó (provincia de Girona) corresponde en realidad a un edificio público. Su existencia hay que contextualizarla en el marco de las estructuras que la autoridad romana establece para el control territorial muy ligada a la creación de una nueva red viaria y un sistema de recaudación fiscal. También se analizan las razones de su pervivencia hasta el siglo iii d. C. muy ligadas a su relación con la cercana ciudad de Emporiae

Between September 2017 and February 2018, influenza A(H1N1)pdm09, A(H3N2) and B viruses (mainly B/Yamagata, not included in 2017/18 trivalent vaccines) co-circulated in Europe. Interim results from five European studies indicate that, in all age groups, 2017/18 influenza vaccine effectiveness was 25 to 52% against any influenza, 55 to 68% against influenza A(H1N1)pdm09, -42 to 7% against influenza A(H3N2) and 36 to 54% against influenza B. 2017/18 influenza vaccine should be promoted where influenza still circulates.

In March 2020, following the annual International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV) ratification vote on newly proposed taxa, the phylum Negarnaviricota was amended and emended. At the genus rank, 20 new genera were added, two were deleted, one was moved, and three were renamed. At the species rank, 160 species were added, four were deleted, ten were moved and renamed, and 30 species were renamed.
