A great deal has been written about the pressing need to put people back into the decisionmaking process and to rely less on machines, models, and quantitative methods for management decisions. Considerable research has been devoted to the task of identifying the relative advantages and disadvantages of the more popular group decision-making techniques such as interacting groups, nominal groups, and Delphi groups. The purpose of this inquiry is the measurement of the distortion effects of group loyalty on the decision-making behavior of nominal groups.
