SUPPORT FOR DEMOCRATIC PROCEDURES IN SCOTTISH CITIES

THIS AUTHOR SUGGESTS THAT THE TERM DEMOCRACY IMPLIES THAT THERE IS A COHERENT SET OF NORMS THAT ARE ACCEPTED BY EVERYONE IN A DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY. HIS RESEARCH EXPLORES THIS IDEA IN A PRELIMINARY WAY. THE MAIN CONCERN OF THE STUDY WAS THE NATURE OF THE REPRESENTATIVE LINKAGES BETWEEN LOCAL COUNCILLORS AND THEIR CONSITUENTS IN A NUMBER OF COMMUNITIES IN SCOTLAND.
