This article explores the evolution of the international economic sanctions system as an instrument of political pressure within the United Nations and the Security Council. The author considered the historical development of the economic sanctions phenomenon, as well as their nature, which for the first time legally were reflected in the Charter of the League of Nations as a precursor of the UN in 1919. Then, the new system regulation of international economic processes was spelled out in the Charter of the United Nations of 1945. The most important events, including economic sanctions, are connected with the reformatting of the new world order after 1991. Also, the article analyzes the objectives of economic sanctions and their types. Further, a detailed analysis of the economic sanctions imposed by the Security Council on Iran in terms of the objectives and conditions is made and a conclusion is drawn and several results are made, including the creation by the UN Security Council, of the economic sanctions system to exert pressure on states. It seems to the members of the UN Security Council, a danger to international peace and security, especially with the end of the cold war, and also the formation of a fundamentally new type of "smart" sanctions. ; В данной статье исследуется эволюция системы международных экономических санкций как инструмента политического давления в рамках Организации Объединенных Наций и Совета Безопасности. Автор рассматривает историческое развитие феномена экономических санкций, а также характер экономических санкций, которые впервые юридически нашли свое отражение еще в Уставе Лиги Наций как предвестника ООН, в 1919 году. Затем регулирование новой системы международных экономических процессов было прописано в Уставе Организации Объединенных Наций от 1945 года. Наиболее важные события, причинами которых стали в том числе экономические санкции связаны с переформатированием нового мирового порядка после 1991 года. Также в статье анализируются цели экономических санкций и их виды. Далее проводится предметный анализ экономических санкций, введенных Советом безопасности в отношении Ирана с точки зрения целей и условий, навязываемых государству со стороны ООН и сделан вывод о нескольких результатах, в том числе о создании Советом Безопасности ООН, системы экономических санкций для оказания давления на государства, которые создают, как представляется членам СБ ООН, опасность для международного мира и безопасности, особенно с окончанием холодной войны, а также формировании принципиально нового вида - «умных» санкций (smart sanctions).
