AbstractSince project management is inevitably a social effort involving all relevant actors, social aspects have to be emphasized when considering collaborative project management. Social innovation focuses on reacting to social demands and developing innovative solutions to overcome various social issues. Therefore, determining the social innovation potential in the project management process is very important. The main purpose of this study is to propose a Fuzzy Analytic Network Process (FANP) and Fuzzy VIKOR (FVIKOR)‐based decision model to determine the social innovation potential of technological projects. The results of FANP revealed that the most important criteria for determining social innovation potential of projects are financial resources, technological developments and social capital. Furthermore, FVIKOR was used for ranking social innovation potential of the selected technological projects. There are several managerial implications of this study. First, we suggest that practitioners should integrate the proposed model into their project evaluation processes. Second, they can also use this model to define the social innovation factors during project selection. Lastly, the proposed model can be employed to prioritize the social innovation factors that enable managers to allocate the appropriate resources to project management process.

Open innovation includes making collaborative relationships with other firms and institutions to achieve competitive advantage through innovative products orservices. Open innovation has an effect on the logistics firms because they have many services and products and also various relationships with their shareholders. The main purpose of this study is to determine the appropriate open innovation model for logistics firms. In this context, the application process is performed by a Fuzzy Multi Criteria Decision Making model. This approach involves both criteria (control, focus, innovation process, knowledge, cost, capacity, market, utilization, policy, motivation) and alternatives (inbound, outbound and coupled open innovation models). Weights of the criteria were determined by Fuzzy AHP. Furthermore, ranks of the alternatives were performed by Fuzzy VIKOR. According to results, outbound innovation is determined as the appropriate open innovation model for logistics firms. The most important three criteria in order to determine the appropriate open innovation model are innovation process, motivation, and market respectively. ; Açık yenilik, yenilikçi ürün ve hizmetler yoluyla rekabet avantajı elde edebilmek için diğer firma ve kuruluşlarla iş birliğine dayalı ilişkiler kurmayı içermektedir. Çok sayıda ürün ve hizmete sahip ve paydaşları ile yoğun ilişkileri olan kuruluşlar olması nedeniyle lojistik firmaları, açık yenilikten etkilenmektedir. Çalışmanın amacı, lojistik firmaları için en uygun açık yenilik modelinin belirlenmesidir. Bu doğrultuda uygulama aşaması, bir Bulanık Çok Kriterli Karar Verme Modeli aracılığıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu yaklaşım, kriterler (kontrol, odak, yenilik süreci, bilgi, maliyet, kapasite, pazar, kullanım, politika, motivasyon) ve alternatifleri (gelen, giden ve çift yönlü açık yenilik modelleri) içermektedir. Kriter ağırlıkları, Bulanık AHP yöntemiyle belirlenmiştir. Alternatiflerin sıralanması ise Bulanık VIKOR yöntemi aracılığıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Sonuçlara göre; giden yenilik, lojistik firmaları açısından en uygun açık yenilik modeli olarak tespit edilmiştir. En uygun açık yenilik türünün seçiminde en önemli üç kriter ise sırasıyla; yenilik süreci, motivasyon ve pazar olarak belirlenmiştir.

PurposeThe objective of this study is to assess quantitatively how feasible blockchain is for various industries, such as logistics and supply chain, health, energy, finance, automotive, pharmaceutical and agriculture and food using a comprehensive list of indicators.Design/methodology/approachA decision aid was applied to the problem of identifying the feasibility of blockchain in Turkish industries. To this end, first, a set of indicators was identified. Then, the fuzzy AHP and fuzzy TOPSIS were utilized to assess the feasibility comparatively using the data gathered from a group of experts. Finally, a scenario analysis was conducted to ensure the consistency of our evaluation.FindingsThe findings of this study suggest that comparatively, logistics and supply chain, finance and health industries are the most feasible industries for blockchain. This study further suggests that blockchain is the least feasible for the automotive industry compared to the rest of the identified industries.Research limitations/implicationsIt is cumbersome to find out the respondents who have sufficient knowledge of both blockchain and the identified industries. Even if we took the utmost care in identifying the right respondents, we limited our search to the biggest industrial hubs of Turkey.Practical implicationsThe findings of this research may help various decision-makers employed in governments, conglomerates, software and consulting firms and national research institutions make more informed decisions and allocate their resources more effectively.Originality/valueTo this date, the current studies have solely investigated possible research opportunities in blockchain and demonstrated several blockchain applications in stand-alone cases. To the best of our knowledge, however, no single study exists that evaluates the feasibility of blockchain comparatively and holistically among a group of industries using various indicators.
