; The article is devoted to one of the most important aspects of life of Russian emigration of the first wave: retaining of military-historical relics of the Russian empire. The principle attention is payed to the creation and activity of Russian military museums in different countries, their collections and expositions, representing the history of Russian army in the XIX century and in the beginning of the XX century, during The First World War and The White Movement. Here is written about self-sacrificing historical-memorial activity of the well-known representatives of the Russian military emigration.
; In the 1920s-1930s a large number of Russian objects of historical and art values were moved abroad. Some of them became part of the collections of museums and the private collections created by Russian emigrants. Historicism as the main ideological basis of the cultural and social activities of the Russian emigrants was the reason for creating different types of museums among the Russian Diasporas abroad – historical and cultural, military and historical, religious and historical, archeological, memorial etc. The most outstanding museums of such type were the Russian cultural and historical museum in Prague, the museum of the Russian culture in San-Francisco and the museum of the Society «Motherland» in Lakewood (the USA). Russian emigrants also tried to create scientific and technical, local history, ethnographical as well as scientific collections and museum objects. One of such wonderful collections belonged to the «Society of studying Manchuria region» in Harbin. At present, Russian emigrants continue their selfless activities aimed at preserving museums and collections, which deserves every recognition and respect. It is deemed necessary to create a catalogue of museum collections of the Russian emigrants in the future. Many of them arouse significant interest and serve as a valuable source on the history of not only Russian emigration but also Russia as a whole.
