The author of the article focuses on the field of criminal law statistics as an area of prosecutorial activity that has been actively developing in recent years. At the present stage, criminal statistics, which has incorporated the achievements of many sciences, represents an extensive system of capabilities that are widely used to increase the efficiency of law enforcement activities of the prosecutor's office. The article is devoted to the consideration of issues related to the stage-by-stage formation of criminal law statistics as an area of prosecutorial activity, which, in the opinion of the author of the article, is necessary for the analysis and assessment of the results of such activities.

Scientific- technological progress heightened speed and production updating objectively determine the demand for the qualified staff in different employment areas. Workers of any rank must possess skills, creative potential and ability to realize it. Knowledge, information and commercial idea alongside with other resources act as factors of value growth added to the created product. By providing the necessary competitiveness and profit, intellectual resources become the innovation area subjects' intellectual capital.

During winter, foraging activity of ants is considered low in temperate regions. Winter activity of ground-dwelling ants was investigated using bait traps and quadrat sampling in an urban area of Fukuoka City, western Japan. Six study sites were grouped into two categories: 4 open land types and 2 forest types. A total of 18 ant species were recorded between the end of January and beginning of March. The foraging activity of ants was generally low, except during relatively warm periods when the surface ground temperature was above 6℃–7℃ or soil temperature was above 4℃–5℃. Tetramorium tsushimae, Messor aciculatus, and Pheidole noda were the most abundant in the open land type, whereas Nylanderia flavipes, P. noda, and Crematogaster osakensis were the most abundant in the forest type. Bait preference varied among the different species, e.g., P. noda preferred tuna over honey, whereas N. flavipes similarly responded to tuna and honey. This is the first detailed study on the relationship between temperature and ant activity in Japanese mainland fauna.

Professional activation is an important part of the economy, in particular local and regional authorities. Properly initiated entrepreneurship significantly affects, among other things, the direct development of the region, including local businesses and the investment opportunities of local government units. Improving competitiveness and the socio-economic image of the region can be seen by taking direct economic initiatives (also in cooperation with economic entities and/or scientific research units) and by implementation of innovation, the use of various forms of external financing, but primarily through new jobs and business activity. The aim of the study is an attempt to present the issue of professional activation of disabled people in the former Central Pomeranian province, in the county Słupsk. The study public opinion poll (own questionnaire study) was conducted at the turn of 2013–2014y. Survey was also conducted in Polish and English literature. In the years 2007–2015 local government organizations implemented 7 projects in the region of Słupsk and also activities are constantly supported by District Labour Office (PUP) activation, which provides services to 97 % of respondents.KEYWORDS: management, professional activation, disability, unemployment.JEL CODES: J6, J7, L1, M12

AbstractThe impact of macroeconomic uncertainty on activity has been a subject of heightened interest in recent years. Empirical literature typically focuses on the US or on individual euro area countries by using the VAR approach. However, there is limited quantitative evidence about the impact of uncertainty on euro area activity available as yet. In this paper, we derive measures of macroeconomic uncertainty in the euro area from an encompassing dataset, and single out some indicators of uncertainty based on theoretical plausibility and empirical evidence. From this set of indicators, we derive an aggregate measure of macroeconomic uncertainty in the euro area. Using a multivariate structural VAR approach, we then offer some quantitative evidence on the impact of macroeconomic uncertainty on euro area activity during the period 1999–2015. Our main findings show that heightened macroeconomic uncertainty, as measured by the proposed indicators, does have a strongly adverse impact on activity in the euro area, albeit the deepness and duration of the shocks differ somewhat across uncertainty measures.

This study uses data from the 2005 and 2007 Citizenship Survey to map broad differences in levels of volunteering and social capital between ninety different types of place in England, characterised by their regional location and level of deprivation. A measure of social capital in each type of place is constructed using a multivariate multilevel statistical model and the association with rates of volunteering is then examined. The results show a positive association at the area level between the level of formal volunteering and informal volunteering and the level of social capital. The rate of both formal and informal volunteering was, however, unrelated to the level of social capital after controlling for area deprivation. These results raise concerns about the ability of volunteering to change the social characteristics of deprived areas independently of their material circumstances. Communities have strengths primarily in areas concerned with maintaining social order rather than creating economic growth. Policies to tackle area deprivation need to concentrate on linking deprived areas up to economic opportunities in more affluent surrounding areas rather than on local strategies based on self-help.

The U.S. business cycle typically leads the European cycle by a few quarters and this can be used to forecast euro area GDP. We investigate whether financial variables carry additional information. We use vector autoregressions (VARs) which include the U.S. and the euro area GDPs as a minimal set of variables as well as growth in the Rest of the World (an aggregation of seven small countries) and selected combinations of financial variables. In the 1960s commuting in Vojvodina developed less intensively in comparison with Central Serbia. The increase in the share of daily migrant workers in the area of Vojvodina ensued as the consequence of strong process of industrialization and massive transition of active population from agriculture to non-agricultural activities (especially industry). The latest 2002 population census data have shown that the share of commuters who work out of their residence is higher in Vojvodina in relation to Central Serbia, i.e. the centre of development of commuting has been transferred to the area of Vojvodina. The link between extent and directions of commuting in the area of Vojvodina and the economic activity carried out by daily migrant workers are presented and discussed in the paper. Data formed by a special processing of the 2002 population census were used for the needs of the analysis. Based on these data, the categorization of the municipalities of Vojvodina is carried out according to the share of the leading activities of daily migrant workers (the primary, the secondary, the tertiary and quaternary sector) in the total number of daily migrants, as well as to the index of diversity of convergent and divergent daily migrant workers according to activity they perform. The results obtained on the basis of the index of diversity enable the comparison of qualitative differences of convergent and divergent flows of active daily migrants according to economic activity they perform in a certain area. The research and familiarization with presented links and relations contribute to the formation of the base for defining corresponding developmental (population and economic) policies of areas which are connected by commuting. .
