Information and services on the web are accessible for everyone. Users of the web differ in their background, culture, political and social environment, interests and so on. Ambient intelligence was envisioned as a concept for systems which are able to adapt to user actions and needs. With the growing amount of information and services, the web applications become natural candidates to adopt the concepts of ambient intelligence. Such applications can deal with divers user intentions and actions based on the user profile and can suggest the combination of information content and services which suit the user profile the most. This paper summarizes the domain engineering framework for such adaptive web applications. The framework provides guidelines to develop adaptive web applications as members of a family. Each Voice is a website designed to help bring together information on local and state government matters to help the public more efficiently acquire this information so they can better understand and vote in these matters. The hope is that in being able to locate this information easily the American people will participate more in local and state matters. Each Voice will include details on proposed local bills, laws, and representatives. The public will be able to discuss these proposed laws, bills, and representatives with others. This combination of information aggregation and user discussion is something that does not currently exist. The goal is to provide a place where the public can start to become more active in and better educated about their local and state governments.

Abstract
In specific contract No 13 issued under the framework agreement OC/EFSA/AMU/2019/02, EFSA requested Open Analytics to implement a web application SIGMA Kaleidoscope composed of different modules addressing the need of generating customized visualizations for African swine fever (ASF) epidemiological data with the possibility of selecting the species (wild and/or domestic), the geographical area, the time frame and many other analytical parameters of interest. These visualization components can be used to elaborate an epidemiological report with automatic text creation. The web application integrates different types of data sources and data formats in order to generate insightful tables and graphs covering surveillance activities, spatial and temporal dynamics, disease outbreaks and impact estimators. Users will be able to generate a report summarizing the results obtained throughout the application. The web application has been developed and tested using ASF data, but the 'Summary' module can also be applied to the outbreak data of other diseases.

As the use of the internet for commercial purposes continues to grow, so do the number of security threats which attempt to disrupt online systems. A number of these threats are in fact unintended. For example, a careless employee might drop a cup of coffee onto essential equipment. However, when compared to the brick and mortar world, the internet offers would-be attackers a more anonymous environment in which to operate. Also, the free availability of hacking tools makes it possible even for the curious teenager to carry out dangerous attacks. Despite this ever-present threat however, it is all too often the case that security is dealt with (if at all) after a web application has been developed. This is mainly due to our software development heritage whereby companies prefer to focus on the functionality of new systems because that provides an immediate return on investment. As a precursor to proposing an framework for building security into web applications, this paper presents an ontology of threat to web applications. The thinking behind this is that much the same as in the military world, one needs to have as much intelligence about the enemy as possible, the same can be argued in the case of online security threats. Such an ontology would enable stake holder in online applications to take less of a reactive stance but instead be more proactive by being aware what's out there. ; peer-reviewed

Part 2: Workshop ; International audience ; The paper discusses selected issues related to the implementation and deployment of the Web Application Firewall that protects the target application by verifying the incoming requests and their parameters through matching them against recorded usage patterns. These patterns in turn are learned from the traffic generated by the users of the application. Since many web applications, including these operated by the government, are prone to exploits, there is a need to introduce new easily implementable methods of protection to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive data. A Learning Web Application Firewall offers a flexible, application-tailored, yet easy to deploy solution. There are certain concerns, however, regarding the classification of data that is used for the learning process which can, in certain cases, impair the firewall ability to classify traffic correctly. These concerns are discussed on the basis of reference implementation prepared by the authors.
