Training. Personal development. Updating. Formation. Call it what you want. Everyone today sees the need for ongoing help in professional life. Why should sex be any different? That is, why should married men and women not receive ongoing help to make their sex lives more fruitful, fulfilling and fascinating? And faithful? Sex serves marriage. Marriage serves family. Family serves society. If husband and wife can enjoy a fulfilling sex life, then they will be great parents. Their children will sense their contentment and unity. A married man is called to be his wife's lover. A married woman

Sex and religion are inevitably and intricately linked. There are few realms of human experience other than sex in which religion has greater reach and influence. The role of religion, of any faith, to prohibit, regulate, condemn, and reward, is unavoidably prominent in questions of sex-namely with whom, when, how, and why. In Sex and Religion, Dag Øistein Endsjø examines the myriad and complex religious attitudes towards sex in cultures throughout the world. Endsjø reflects on some of the most significantly problematic areas in the relationship between sex and religion-from sex before or out

Today's rapid social and economic changes will negatively affect the EU if it continues to be unresponsive. The lack of political commitment endangers our system of universal values, pluralism and open-mindedness. Freedom of religion is under threat and cultural diversity needs legal protection. Meanwhile, religious institutions can play a role in mitigating the crisis by offering solidarity and reinforcing human dignity. It is important that politics provide answers for the future regarding democracy, values, the social market economy, and sustainable and inclusive growth. As the party of values, the European People's Party (EPP) should play a central role in ensuring solidarity, freedom of religion, pluralism and universal values.

The ambiguity concerning the interpretation of the `physical body' in religious thought is not peculiar to any given religion, but is discernible in the scriptures, practices, and disciplines in most of the world's major religious traditions. This book seeks to address the nuances of difference within and between religious traditions in the treatment and understanding of what constitutes the body as a carrier of religious meaning and/or vindication of doctrine. Bringing together an international team of contributors from different disciplines, this collection addresses the intersection of religion, gender, corporeality and/or sexuality in various Western and Eastern cultures. The book analyses instances when religious meaning is attributed to the human body's physicality and its mechanics in contrast to imagined or metaphorical bodies. In other cases, it is shown that the body may function either as a vehicle or a hindrance for mystical knowledge. The chapters are arranged chronologically and across religious orientations, to offer a differentiated view on the body from a global perspective. This collection is an exciting exploration of religion and the human body. As such, it will be of great interest to scholars in religious studies, theology, Islamic studies, South Asian studies, history of religions and gender studies.
This book is for Catholic laypersons who are serious about their faith and spritual life, and who are seeking guidance on how to integrate their love life with their spirituality. It is also a great book for those who counsel them.

"Drawing upon Scripture, tradition, history, theology and empirical evidence, Helen Alvaré frames a thorough response to current US laws' attempts to impose the moral norms of the sexual revolution upon Catholic institutions. Taking full account of the relevant objections to the Catholic Church's teachings as they apply in institutions such as Catholic schools, hospitals, and social services, it argues for the "ecclesial nature" of these organizations. It summarizes the empirical evidence supporting the link between personnel decisions and mission, and between Catholic sexual responsibility norms and human flourishing, and it grounds Catholic sexual responsibility teachings in the same love of God and neighbor that animate the existence, operations, and services of Catholic institutions. In so doing, it charts a future for Catholic institutions in the United States and in other countries with similar legalization in the area of sexuality"--
