This article aims to explain the relationship between photography, the western artistic canon, and subversive forms of expression. To a certain extent, the invention of photography wreaked havoc amongst European intellectuals in the last decades of the nineteenth century. By destroying the artistic supremacy of painting, photography fractured the traditional ways of representation. Now an essential form of modern art, photography has nevertheless outlasted those controversies from the past, thus becoming a useful instrument to explain or to subvert the world. Such ambivalence has been seductive for Claire Lejeune. Her "photographismes" represent an alternative technique to literary work whereby she presents her belief that it is necessary to join emergent voices ; Este artículo aborda la relación entre la creación fotográfica, la evolución del canon artístico occidental y la proliferación de propuestas culturales subversivas. El nacimiento de la fotografía hundió en un cierto caos a los círculos intelectuales de la Europa de finales del siglo XIX. El cuestionamiento de los sistemas de representación vigentes y de la supremacía de la pintura, inestabilizó las rígidas posiciones existentes. Sin embargo, la fotografía ha transcendido la polémica para consolidarse como una nueva vertiente del arte moderno, sirviendo no sólo a la difusión de una cierta visión del mundo, sino a la subversión de la misma. Una línea muy atractiva para una intelectual como Claire Lejeune, cuya escritura "po-ética" expone la urgencia de la promoción de un nuevo orden social, político y artístico que incorpore a las miradas del silencio ; occidental et la prolifération de courants culturels subversifs. La naissance et l'essor de la photographie plongea dans le chaos le plus absolu les milieux culturels européens du XIXème siècle. La mise en question des systèmes de représentation en vigueur et de la suprématie de la peinture bouleversa les prises de position traditionnelles. Pourtant, cette discipline a réussi à se situer au-delà de toute polémique, étant devenu tout un symbole des arts modernes au service non seulement de la transmission d'un certain regard sur la réalité, mais aussi à la subversion de celle-ci. Voilà un créneau très séduisant pour une intellectuelle comme Claire Lejeune, dont l'écriture poét(h)ique témoigne de la nécessité de promouvoir un nouvel ordre social, politique et artistique pour réhabiliter les regards du silence

This article has carried out a legal-normative analysis on the ability of people with Down Syndrome to express their willingness in case of organ donation in Peru, a work that opens the legal possibility of acceptance of the consent conferred by the giver with Down syndrome. For such a comet, a joint study of Peruvian legislation and international human rights treaties ratified by Peru has been carried out, which promotes an interest in respecting the autonomy of people with some type of disability. ; En el presente artículo se ha realizado un análisis jurídico-normativo sobre la capacidad de las personas con Síndrome de Down para manifestar su voluntad en caso de donación de órganos en el Perú, un trabajo que abre la posibilidad jurídica de aceptación del consentimiento conferido por el dador con Síndrome de Down. Para tal cometido, se ha efectuado un estudio conjunto de la legislación peruana y los tratados internacionales en Derechos Humanos ratificados por el Perú, que promueven un interés por el respeto a la autonomía de las personas con algún tipo de discapacidad.

gabrielaraujo@um.edu.mo ABSTRACT. This study describes the toponymic profile of the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe (STP), a former Portuguese colony. Here, we consider (i) its linguistic contact situation, reflected in the toponyms of non-Portuguese etyma (mainly from national languages), and (ii) the structure of the toponymic syntagma in Portuguese. Toponyms are created according to a place's geographic, social, historical, and linguistic reality. Therefore, STP's toponyms are the locus of the Santomean linguistic ecology and memory. Due to its linguistic diversity, the study of Santomean toponymy is transdisciplinary. It contributes to understanding different languages that share São Tomé and Príncipe's ethnicity and linguistic heritage, including multilingual synchronic and/or diachronic conjunctures and the political importance of Portuguese. STP's toponymy expresses a multilingual conjuncture common to the country since the arrival of the Portuguese and (mainly) enslaved Africans from different regions of Africa. Although the Portuguese language and culture have influenced most local toponymy, the Santomean toponymic profile contains endemic linguistic and cultural specificities. This article addresses the historical and sociolinguistic evolution of Fa d'Ambô, a Portuguese-related creole language spoken originally on the small island of Annobón in Equatorial Guinea. It will be shown that Fa d'Ambô and the three creole languages spoken on the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe (Santome, Angolar and Principense) descend from a single contact language that arose on the island of São Tomé and branched in the sixteenth century. After its permanent settlement in the second half of the sixteenth century, Annobón became strongly isolated until the twentieth century. Due to intense migration from Annobón to Equatorial Guinea's multilingual capital Malabo over the last decades, Fa d'Ambô's speech community has not only become divided but also more exposed to other languages, in particular to English-based creole Pichi, the capital's lingua franca. Given the small size of the Fa d'Ambô speech community (approx. 5,000 speakers), it will be argued that these factors, in addition to the lack of government support for the country's minority languages, pose an increasing threat to the survival of the language. ; info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion

The 2012 Critical Transformative Educational Leadership and Policy Annual Conference hosted by the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth met head-on with issues of neoliberalism, educational democracy, cultural politics, public education, and seeing teachers and administrators as critical transformational leaders. This book is a collection of the highlights of that conference that addresses these arenas of debate, from the presentations of Deborah Meier, Ken Saltman, Clyde Barrow, and Joao Rosa, among others, to the works of emerging academics and intellectuals in the field of education. The book to serve as an antidote to such ill-informed thinking before it becomes a part of the cultural commonsense, much the way the manufactured realties of high stakes testing, standardization, and police-guarded schools have become normative. ℓ́ℓIt is urgent to learn to accurately read reality in a world in which language and discourse are being resignified to confuse people and turn reality into a board game, a world which large corporations and global financial powers play the role of the old mythological gods, creators of dogmas and flamboyant realities that they want us to submit and worship. This volume is an outcome of an important political critical transformative pedagogical project that challenges the lethal consequences of the impact of neoliberal policies in education.
