This article discusses the risk of terrorists acquiring & using nuclear weapons. The author distinguishes two types of nuclear terror: 1) starting a nuclear chain reaction, & 2) disseminating nuclear material through conventional explosives. The first case is improbable because there are few nuclear powers that would sell nuclear weapons to terrorists & train them on how to ignite them. On the other hand, it is very likely that terrorists already possess a "dirty bomb," according to the author. Such a device does not require much radioactive material, which can be found in every industrialized nation. Even though a dirty bomb may not cause large casualties, it would have a significant psychological effect. In conclusion, the author discusses how to prevent Iran from producing nuclear material that can be used in weapons. A. Kallioinen
