This study assessed parameters associated with children's snacking such as food home availability, parenting practices, and parents' health beliefs. In this cross-sectional study 12, 039 children, 49.4% boys 5-12 years old, participating in the European Feel4Diabetes-Study were included. Children's weekly consumption of sweets and salty snacks, home availability of snacks, food parenting practices, and health beliefs were assessed via questionnaires. Logistic regression was applied to explore associations of a) home availability of snacks, b) food parenting practices (permissiveness and rewarding with snacks) and c) parent's opinions on deterministic health beliefs with children's consumption of sweets and salty snacks. Results showed that home availability (sweets: ORadj 4.76, 95%CI: 4.32, 5.23; salty snacks: ORadj: 6.56, 95%CI: 5.64, 7.61), allowing to consume (sweets: ORadj: 3.29, 95%CI: 2.95, 3.67; salty snacks: ORadj: 3.41, 95%CI: 2.98, 3.90) and rewarding with sweets/salty snacks (sweets: ORadj: 2.69, 95%CI: 2.23, 3.24; salty snacks: ORadj: 4.34, 95%CI: 3.57, 5.28) 'sometimes/or less frequently' compared to 'always/or often' were associated with lower weekly consumption of sweets and snacks. Parents' disagreement compared to agreement with deterministic health beliefs and inattentive eating were associated with lower consumption of salty snacks and sweets in children. Overall, the findings of this study indicate that attempts to promote healthy snacking habits in children should aim to improve parental dietary habits, food parenting practices, health beliefs, and reducing home availability of unhealthy foods and snacks. ; European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program 643708

The availability of Internet at home is one of the most important steps to enjoy the benefits that come from its use. In this sense, knowing the weight implied by the availability or lack of the network becomes strategic in the design of policies and actions to intensify the socio-territorial penetration of the Internet and the empowerment of its users. The aim of this research was to develop a function for predicting Internet availability in households, based on microdata from the 2020 population and housing census conducted by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI). This type of prediction, in addition to clarifying the socio-territorial conditions involved in the physical availability of the Internet in homes contribute to the structuring of an intervention context for the public and private factors of digital disengagement. In methodological terms, the prediction function is based on a random sample of 11 000 census interviewees, divided into two groups of equal consistency: the first has Internet at home and the does not. To generate the prediction, a linear discriminant function was used and valued by a score function. The quality of the prediction was estimated through an internal evaluation with Bootsrap (75% of the sample) and an external one (25% of the sample), both of which were complemented with an analysis of the ROC curve and LIFT graph. The resulting function exhibits a sensitivity of 76.9%, a specificity of 20.5% and a discriminant capacity of 86.7% in a 95% confidence interval. With these efficiency parameters, the found function becomes a possible effective prediction tool for both reflection and action against the digital divide in its initial stage.

This research investigated how negative and positive residuals of the workday spill over into the partner relationship. To unravel the mechanism of this spillover, this study introduces the concept of "psychological availability," which refers to the individual's ability and motivation to direct psychological resources at the partner. A survey was conducted among 313 Dutch dual‐earner couples with children, using dyadic data analysis to analyze both partners simultaneously in 1 model. Psychological availability mediated the link between negative and positive work‐related residuals (i.e., work‐related negative mood, exhaustion, rumination and work‐related positive mood and vigor, respectively) and marital behavior. The findings suggest that partners' workday residuals spill over into the marital relationship through being more or less psychologically available for each other.

The growing demand for long-term care will put pressure on federal and state budgets because long-term care relies heavily on public financing, particularly Medicaid. Nursing home care traditionally has accounted for most Medicaid long-term care expenditures, but the high costs of such care and the preference of many individuals to stay in their own homes has led states to expand their Medicaid programs to provide coverage for home- and community-based long-term care. GAO found that a Medicaid-eligible elderly individual with the same disabling conditions, care needs, and availability of informal family support could find significant differences in the type and intensity of home and community-based services that would be offered for his or her care. These differences were due in part to the very nature of long-term care needs--which can involve physical or cognitive disabling conditions--and the lack of a consensus as to what services are needed to compensate for these disabilities and what balance should exist between publicly available and family-provided services. The differences in care plans were also due to decisions that states have made in designing their Medicaid long-term care programs and the resources devoted to them. The case managers GAO contacted generally offered care plans that relied on in-home services rather than other residential care settings. However, the in-home services offered varied considerably."

The research aimed to explore the relation of work-home and home-work interactions on employees' psychological condition while working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic. The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic had led various organizations to implement work-from-home measures. This rapid change in working arrangements might affect employees' psychological condition as they navigate both their work and home responsibilities at the same time and place. The research involved 2.288 employees at one government institution in Indonesia. Data were collected in April 2020, using the web-based tool Survey Monkey. The data were analyzed by logistic regression analysis. The results show that Negative Work–Home Interactions (NWHI) are significantly associated with psychological meaningfulness and psychological safety, while Negative Home–Work Interactions (NHWI) are significantly associated with the three psychological dimensions. Positive Work–Home Interactions (PWHI) are significantly associated with psychological safety, while Positive Home–Work Interactions (PHWI) are significantly associated with the three psychological dimensions. Based on the results, it can be concluded that positive and negative experience that happens at work spill over to the home domain and vice versa, which could, in turn, impact on employee sense of meaningful, safety, and sense of having the physical, emotional, and psychological resources to perform tasks at work during working from home. Therefore, organizational support is important in maintaining employees' psychological condition while working from home during the pandemic.

Wireless networking increases the flexibility in the home, work place and community to connect to the Internet without being tied to a single location. Wireless networking has rapidly increased in popularity over recent years. There has also been a change in the use of the internet by users. Home users have embraced wireless technology and businesses see it as having a great impact on their operational efficiency. Both home users and industry are sending increasingly sensitive information through these wireless networks as online delivery of banking, commercial and governmental services becomes more widespread. However undeniable the benefits of wireless networking are, there are additional risks that do not exist in wired networks. It is imperative that adequate assessment and management of risk is undertaken by businesses and home users. This paper reviews wireless network protocols, investigates issues of reliability, availability and security when using wireless networks. The paper, by use of a case study, illustrates the issues and importance of implementing secured wireless networks, and shows the significance of the issue. The paper presents a discussion of the case study and a set of recommendations to mitigate the threat.

The telephone is the most critical piece of technology for resettled refugees' connection to family members in terms of availability and familiarity. However, it is not without challenges -- such as limited communication technology choices back "home" and the costs involved. Finding the best technology to use for different family members can be difficult, particularly if they themselves are displaced, because of factors such as the variety of available services, whether the family member could afford them and whether they have the skills to use them. Case-control studies show an association between firearms in the home and completed suicide, with higher risks associated with loaded guns and handguns in the home. Quasi-experimental studies also show a relationship between greater restrictiveness of gun control laws and lower suicide rates by firearms and overall, although some studies fail to show an effect or show method substitution. A prospective study shows that handgun purchasers have an elevated risk for suicide for up to 6 years after the purchase. Relatively few studies have examined the impact of intervention to encourage families to store guns safely or remove firearms from the home on suicidal outcome.
