Significant natural resource management investment is flowing to bioculturally diverse areas occupied by indigenous and other socioeconomically and politically marginalized groups. Such investment focuses on environmental benefit but may also generate ancillary economic, social, and other cobenefits. Increased investor interest in such cobenefits is driving the emerging research literature on cobenefit identification, categorization, and assessment. For local people undertaking community-based natural resource management, this emerging cobenefit discourse creates opportunities for more holistic program assessments that better reflect local perspectives, but it also contains risks of increased reporting burdens and institutional capture. Here, we synthesize and critically review the cobenefit literature arising from Australian indigenous cultural and natural resource management programs, a context in which there is a strong investor interest in cobenefits, particularly from government. We identify a wide suite of cobenefits in the existing literature and highlight previously unrecognized conceptual gaps and elisions in cobenefit categorization, including inconsistencies in category definition, the underanalysis of key categories, and a lack of systematic attention to beneficiaries as well as benefits. We propose a clarified and expanded conceptual framework to identify consistently the full suite of benefits, thereby enabling further assessment, valuation, and development of incentive mechanisms, standards, and guidelines. 1. The Mediterranean seagrass Posidonia oceanica maintains a biodiverse ecosystem and it is aworld-wide important carbon sink. It grows for millennia, accumulating organic-rich soils (mats)beneath the meadows. This marine habitat is protected by the European Union; however, it is declin-ing rapidly due to coastal development. Understanding its response to dist urbances could informhabitat restoration, but many environmental impacts predate monitoring programs (<50 years).2. This research explores the palaeoecological potential of Posidonia mats to reconstruct six thou-sand years of environmental change that could have affected Posidonia meadows and, in turn, leftan imprint on the mats.3. Palynological, microcharcoal, magnetic susceptibility and glomalin-related soil protein (GRSP)analyses on Posidonia mats enabled us to detect climate- and human-induced environmentalprocesses impacting on the seagrass during the Late Holocene.4. The poll en and microcharcoal records reconstructed anthropogenic disturbances attributed to agri-culture. The record of GRSP shows that agrarian activities affected continental soil quality. Changesin magnetic susceptibility reveal that enhanced soil erosion was caused by both climate (major flood-ing events in the NW Mediterranean) and humans (cultivation) which impacted on the Posidoniamat. Finally, increased human impact is linked to eutrophication of coastal waters since Roman-Medieval times.5. Synthesis. This study shows that climate and land-use changes in the western Mediterraneanresulted in enhanced loadings of terrigenous material to the coastal zone since the Late Holocene,likely disturbing the Posidonia meadows and their mat carbon accumulation dynamics. With the growing recognition that effective action on climate change will require a combination of emissions reductions and carbon sequestration, protecting, enhancing and restoring natural carbon sinks have become political priorities. Mangrove forests are considered some of the most carbon-dense ecosystems in the world with most of the carbon stored in the soil. In order for mangrove forests to be included in climate mitigation efforts, knowledge of the spatial distribution of mangrove soil carbon stocks are critical. Current global estimates do not capture enough of the finer scale variability that would be required to inform local decisions on siting protection and restoration projects. To close this knowledge gap, we have compiled a large georeferenced database of mangrove soil carbon measurements and developed a novel machine-learning based statistical model of the distribution of carbon density using spatially comprehensive data at a 30 m resolution. This model, which included a prior estimate of soil carbon from the global SoilGrids 250 m model, was able to capture 63% of the vertical and horizontal variability in soil organic carbon density (RMSE of 10.9 kg m−3). Of the local variables, total suspended sediment load and Landsat imagery were the most important variable explaining soil carbon density. Projecting this model across the global mangrove forest distribution for the year 2000 yielded an estimate of 6.4 Pg C for the top meter of soil with an 86–729 Mg C ha−1 range across all pixels. By utilizing remotely-sensed mangrove forest cover change data, loss of soil carbon due to mangrove habitat loss between 2000 and 2015 was 30–122 Tg C with >75% of this loss attributable to Indonesia, Malaysia and Myanmar. Methodologies of Socially Engaged Art was an event at Tate Modern. This event presented a panel discussion focusing on Peckham Platform's continuing research into socially engaged art. It also formed part of the interdisciplinary research project 'Methodologies of Socially Engaged Art: Process, Politics and Practice' between Peckham Platform and cultural geographer Dr. Danny McNally (Royal Holloway University of London). Chaired by Paul Goodwin, Professor of Black Art and Design and trustee at Peckham Platform, the event included talks by Danny McNally, curator Marijke Steedman and artists Barby Asante (The South London Black Music Archive, To Gypsyland, sorryyoufeeluncomfortable) and Sarah Cole (Tribe, Care Full, Smother) on the working methods and philosophies of socially engaged artists. This was followed by open discussion with the panel, as well as time for questions from the audience. Hosted by Tate Modern, this event brought together key actors in socially engaged art including artists, educators, academics, curators and policy figures. Sarah Cole's talk focused on her practice, with specific reference to using documentation as both a record and a spur for the generation and dissemination of socially engaged methodologies.

Under the auspices of the Portuguese Government, and with full collaboration from the Slovenian Government, H2020 IMPACTOUR Project is proud to announce the ReDiscover Europe Workshop, providing an unique opportunity to discuss the role of sustainable Cultural Tourism in today's Europe in a post-COVID era. Europe has come a long path since Schuman's declaration back in 1950 and, next May 9th, we will celebrate peace and unity across Europe. While all the planet is still struggling to overcome the terrible effects of the COVID-19 crisis, Cultural Tourism is playing a huge palliative role by sharing Europe's rich cultural diversity. The ReDiscover Europe Workshop will provide an unique opportunity to discuss the role of sustainable Cultural Tourism in today's Europe. Besides important keynote presentations the workshop will hold three key panel debates (with catalyst viewpoints from policy makers, scientific researchers, industry and cultural tourism practitioners): – Theme 1: Post-COVID cultural tourism – what have we learned, what might we do differently, an opportunity for Big / SMART Data? – Theme 2: People – accessibility, inclusion / exclusion, market needs – Theme 3: Technology – digital gateways, mobile interactive content / co-curation, dynamic modelling and tourism management

It is recommended to consider linguoecology as a new direction in the development of international environmental law and Russian environmental law. Public relations related to linguoecology are of an international nature. The author proposes an innovative algorithm for the use of procedures for reforming the structures of both Russian national environmental law and international environmental law.

The Antarctica World Passport project exemplifies the powerful participatory nature of Lucy Orta's work and couldn't have been a more timelier project for the UN Climate Summit in Paris (COP21, Dec 2015). Faced with the increasing numbers of refugees displaced because of climate induced disasters and the predictions of yet more horrific conflicts due to the scarcity of resources, the COP21 was the perfect forum to activate citizen participation against global warming at global level. Unlike the borders, frontiers and bureaucracy of passport offices around the world, especially draconian under the current circumstances, the process of application for an Antarctica World Citizenship takes just a few minutes and no one is turned away. The bureau is constructed with reclaimed wood and found objects including suitcases, water buckets, toys, life jackets and row boats that bulge over the rudimentary architecture, to symbolise the belongings that have been left behind on the migrants' journeys. A passport officer stationed at the welcome desk collects data from visitors at the click of an iPad, via the online application porthole. The recipient simply has to agree to the passport obligations. The citizen traverses thorough a small wooden passageway and is greeted by a second passport officer, who stamps and signs the unique edition of the passport, authenticating both the artwork and the citizenship. The symbolic transferal of one's individual national identity, to that of the collective world citizen, is part of the artwork's overarching meaning. There are currently three passport editions totalling 55,000 examples, and the website counts tens of thousands of citizens across the globe, including the hardest hit catastrophe zones; the Interior Ministers of the Philippines, Alaska, Somalia, Iraq and Afghanistan. All the passport citizens populate the Citizen Map, a simple visualisation portraying the collective strength of the project; it's potential to unite and mobilise people around the world with common values. During the COP21, the Studio Orta team engaged with each visitor, one by one, signing up family members, militants, indigenous peoples, business men, entrepreneurs, activists, artists, government ministers, negotiators, journalists, layers, to name but a few. Amongst some of the inspirational conversations were with scientists working in the Arctic and Antarctic, the engineer of the Antarctic schooner Tara, recently purchased by fashion designer Agnès B and her son to further scientific and artistic research across the oceans of the planet, as well as the director of the Cousteau Society who pledged to support a voyage to Antarctica for a lucky Antarctic citizen; but most of all it was the visit by great grand-daughter of the famous Antarctic explorer, Captain Scott, that most humbled. On arrival at the Antarctica World Passport Bureau, she broke-down into tears. Of amongst all the pioneering, fearless, intrepid, visionary, ingenious, downright crazy of explorers, it is the will to succeed against all odds that Robin Falcon Scott sums up the results of this Climate Summit and its historic moment in the call for world-unity.

To study the association between knowledge of diseases caused by smoking, perceptions of harm of cigarettes and intention to quit among cigarettes and e-cigarettes users. Methods : Using US Population Assessment of Tobacco and Health (PATH) Wave 1 data (2013–2014), we investigated the mean knowledge of diseases due to smoking and perceptions of harm of cigarettes scores among cigarette smokers ( n = 8,263), e-cigarette users ( n = 829), and dual users ( n = 745) and examined the association between knowledge, perceptions of harm and intention to quit. Results : E-cigarette users had the highest scores in both knowledge and perceptions of harm items. We found a stronger association between knowledge and intention to quit among females (aOR: 1.25; 95% CI: 1.18, 1.34) compared to males (aOR: 1.11; 95% CI: 1.05, 1.18). We observed a strong association between perceptions of harm and intention to quit among cigarette smokers ( p < 0.0001) and dual users ( p = 0.0001), but not e-cigarette users. Conclusions : Our study indicates it is urgent for federal and state governments to develop comprehensive guidelines for targeted health messaging regarding the harms of cigarettes, noncombustible tobacco products, and dual use, and the benefits of cessation. Further, findings suggest that effective health education should include tobacco product-specific risks and the comprehensive negative health impacts of tobacco given the strong positive association of perceptions of harm and intention to quit. In 2012 Flanders Heritage Agency was created as a central agency dealing with immovable cultural heritage - broadly defined as archaeology, built heritage and cultural landscapes - in Flanders. Prior to this, tasks of this agency were carried out by several independent agencies. The merger created a very heterogenous set of business processes, IT-components and systems. This, together with a new heritage legislation, prompted a re-evaluation of these systems and their business processes. This paper will delve into our system architecture, built on a core separation of concerns between data driven applications and proces driven applications. We will explain how we came to implement this in a service oriented architecture . We will detail how and why we chose to go with REST services instead of SOAP services. The resource oriented focus of REST services has served us well in creating inter-linking datasources that are firmly grounded in the world wide web and the HTTP protocol. We will demonstrate how we link these resources by using cool URI's. While a majority of our links are between the resources we create and maintain ourselves, we will also look at how we interact with external resources and services when it comes to specific domains such as vocabularies and GIS. Finally we will look at how we are further enhancing our data by more formally publishing it through the use of semantic technologies such as RDF. We aim to create truly linked open data in this way. We will look at some of the stumbling blocks we have encoutered along the way. The most significant one to date being the clash between open data and privacy regulations and how to implement access control on linked data.

Objective of project MOTION´s is to help SMEs and students generate solutions and new sustainable tourism services with Futures and Design Thinking. Project MOTION will arrange an opportunity for students from different countries to join and develop tourism services with real business companies in MOTION – Online Sprint. MOTION- Online Sprint will take place Monday 23rd November- Friday 27th November 2020 (final products need to be delivered on Saturday 28th November). Sprint will last only for 5 days, which means that those days will be long and intensive, and participants need to commit to that week entirely. As a result, participants will learn Design thinking in a multicultural and multidisciplinary team, create new tourism service solutions for real businesses and in addition earn 5 ECTS. Each team will have a problem to solve (=improving an existing or creating new tourism services) during the week, and they will be introduced with different methods to be applied, in order to come up with a final idea or solution. The Sprint- study week is intensive and requires hardworking team spirit. This means that students will be working more than usual to achieve the goals and earn the credits during one week. At the same time, it is great possibility to get inspired, learn more about Design thinking and Futures thinking, get to know new colleagues, and have fun while designing new service ideas. Featuring one of the most voluminous cargo holds of any civil or military aircraft flying today, the Airbus Beluga plays a key role in keeping Airbus production and assembly network operating at full capacity. The current fleet of 5 Beluga, based on A300-600, carries complete sections of Airbus aircraft from different production sites around Europe to the final assembly lines in Toulouse, France and Hamburg, Germany. To support the A350 XWB ramp-up and other production rate increases, Airbus will gradually replace its current Beluga's with six BelugaXL aircraft, derived from the company's versatile A330 widebody product line. Veronique Roca, Chief Engineer of the BelugaXL, describes the BelugaXL since its launch in Nov 2014: with the First Flight in July 2018, the BelugaXL is now completing the Flight Test Campaign and has achieved certification.
