Education and health are crucial ends in and of themselves, as well as important development objectives. Both are critical to the broader idea of expanded human strength, which is at the centre of the notion of growth. The research looks at Nigeria's health expenditure, education, and economic growth, spanning from 1981 to 2019. This paper used principal component analysis (PCA) to calculate variables such as the education expenditure index (EEI) and the health expenditure index (HEI), as well as other explanatory factors such as inflation (INF), life expectancy rate (LER), maternal mortality rate (MMR), and GDP growth. The dependent variable is real GDP. The study used an error correction model (ECM) as an estimating approach. According to the empirical data, government disbursement on education and health has a positive and considerable impact on economic growth and interaction. The results further demonstrate the absence of serial autocorrelation. Furthermore, the report suggests that the government enhance current health and education facilities to encourage economic growth. However, because of the availability and improved health and education services in Nigeria, this policy will decline the appalling state and quality of education and health care, resulting in fewer Nigerians fleeing the country searching for better health and education facilities.

This article examines the impact of EDUMILEX, namely the ratio between investment in education and military expenditure, on economic performance. It uses panel data estimation methods for 60 countries over the period 2000–2018. The findings suggest the existence of a non-linear, cubic relationship between EDUMILEX and economic performance. In particular, EDUMILEX is positively associated with both GDP per capita and labor productivity. The results also show that the effect of EDUMILEX is heterogeneous across countries, with lower values of EDUMILEX required to increase economic performance in developed countries than developing ones.

Higher education institutions are an essential, endogenous element of economic development and take part in resolving global issues. Their utilitarian role, however, may be greatly limited as a result of improper ways of financing science and didactics. The prevailing mechanism of financing didactics in public universities in Polish reality does not ensure the effectiveness of deployed resources and only partially bases on competition, thus not generating the stimuli for positive changes. The algorithm on the basis of which the resources are allocated should be modified. It should be based on criteria reflecting changes in social and economic surroundings. It should also comprise mechanisms stimulating competition between universities and enhancing the quality of didactics and science.

Cuts in education expenditure would be more effective if designed to increase efficiency from teaching staff. Competition between teachers to attract fees at full market rates would do more to save money than any simple budget cut.
International audience ; This paper provides an empirical assessment of the relation between the cyclicality of fiscal expenditure policy, output volatility, and economic growth, using a cross-section of 88 countries over the period 1960 to 2004. Identification of the effects of (endogenous) cyclical expenditure policy is achieved by exploiting the exogeneity of countries' political and institutional characteristics, which we find to be relevant determinants of the cyclicality of expenditures. There are three main results: First, both pro- and countercyclical expenditure policy amplify output volatility, much in a way like pure fiscal shocks. Second, output volatility, due to variations in cyclical and discretionary fiscal policy, is negatively associated with economic growth. Third, there is no direct effect of cyclicality on economic growth other than through output volatility.

The aim of this thesis is to empirically examine the impact of government education expenditure and health expenditure on the GDP per capita of the Federal Republic of Nigeria post the 2016 recession era. The main source of revenue for the federal Republic of Nigerian government is from the oil sector. Over the past few years, there has been an increase in the oil prices and as a result, this has boosted the government spending. In this study, investigation is being conducted on whether the increase in government spending on education and health have had an effect or significant impact in the GDP per capita or not post the recession era that hit the federal republic of Nigeria in 2016 by using data from 1981-2018. This study uses a bivariate econometric model to examine the relationship between socio-economic infrastructure spendings; government education and health expenditures, and the GDP per capita. ; Master of Science in Economics.
