Adolescent boys and girls (n = 347) from the Miramichi region in New Brunswick, Canada, participated in a multivariate study of factors related to running away behavior. Results suggest that runaways tend to be boys and girls who come from incomplete families where relationships
with the parents are perceived as difficult, who feel depressed and have suicidal thoughts, and who have a history of drug use and theft.
