Belonging Métis
"This book tells a story of what it means to be Métis through various voices and experiences. In the Indigenous spirit of inter-connectedness, these accounts are woven together through the various common threads and intersecting life experiences. As author, I assume the task of weaving together the experiences of the Métis people who have aligned themselves with this project, shared their experiences and stories related to "being Métis". The gift and art of being Métis is not straightforward, and I strive to bring forth the complexities, joys and struggles therein. This book is written for Métis people seeking to find hope in the shared identity experience. As well, it is for allies, activists, Indigenous scholars, parents, teachers, researchers, counsellors and those in the helping professions. I hope this book will speak to everyone who is interested in holistic well-being, Métis emancipation and decolonization in this northern part of Turtle Island
In our hands: native photography, 1890 to now
This exhibition and catalog includes works by First Nations, Métis, Inuit, and Native American photographers accompanied by research that analyzes their methodologies, principles, and impact upon the medium. With incisive contributions by individual curatorial council members, this volume presents Native photography in three thematic sections that underscore the following: Native people are present in all facets of American life; their role is transformative in the larger society; and their view of, and connections to, the land and all living things is holistic and fundamental. The publication features 130 photographic works by Native photographers from the late nineteenth century to the present, ranging from documentary photographs to family snapshots to conceptual works. Illustrated in full color, the photographs in this book offer diverse perspectives spanning geographic, chronological, and artistic experience, and shed new light on the extraordinary contributions of Native, First Nations, Metis, and Inuit artists to the art of the Americas. --Adapted from publisher's description

Sun Tzu's Art of War: A Modern Exposition
Only enter the battles you know you can win. Know how to deceive the enemy - appear weak when you are strong, and strong when you are weak. These are some of the key principles from The Art of War, the definitive text on military strategy and warfare, written by the Chinese general Sun Tzu around 500 BC. This book by Sam Hua, bestselling author on Ancient Chinese philosophy and wisdom, provides today's reader with a thorough understanding of The Art of War, both in its original context and how it can be applied in modern times.

Participation and receptivity in the art museum:a phenomenological exposition
In: Høffding , S , Rung , M & Roald , T 2020 , ' Participation and receptivity in the art museum : a phenomenological exposition ' , Curator , vol. 63 , no. 1 , pp. 69-81 . https://doi.org/10.1111/cura.12344
There is a powerful trend in museums today of asking visitors to participate in the exhibitions, co‐create content, and to be active and engage with one another in the museum space. While welcoming the participatory agenda as an initiative of democratizing art museums, we argue in this paper that the rise of the participatory agenda also redefines the purpose of the art museum in a way that risks overlooking the kinds of experiences people undergo in art museums. Based on qualitative and phenomenologically inspired interviews with museum visitors, we present a sketch of a class of aesthetic experiences that ought to be taken into consideration in curatorial practices. Developing a picture of the phenomenology of aesthetic experience, we argue that such experiences should be taken into account when considering the question of the purpose of the art museum.
