Different professional and academic disciplines have addressed the HIV/AIDS pandemic from a variety of perspectives, using different analytical approaches. By bringing these together in one volume, Learning from HIV/AIDS provides a more complete picture of this multi-faceted disease - from the biological and social factors which facilitate HIV transmission - to the powerful cultural and political forces which fuel the pandemic. The author of the article studies and systematizes the set of available scientific achievements on the origin, formation and development of state social policy of Ukraine, considering the fact that one of the priorities of Ukrainian society in the need for progressive improvement of all mechanisms of public administration is the formation of effective social policy. And taking into account the aggregate of the most urgent issues of the development of our state, connected with overcoming the negative phenomena in a social life, the administrative and legal provision of the reliable mechanism of social protection of the population by public authorities requires particular attention. The author of the research analyzes the historical and legal base of the social sphere of the Ukrainian state since the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Ukraine until now. It is emphasized that international legislation aimed at ensuring human rights and freedoms became the basis of regulatory and legal provision of the social sphere in Ukraine. It is noted that the analysis of the content of social functions of the Ukrainian state is characterized by the presence of factors of democratic state formation in the society that is focused on the European vector. The author followed the chronological sequence of the formation of social institutions and legislative regulation of social relations in the state, which led to the current state of social policy. The difficult way of the formation of modern social policy of Ukraine, its achievements, weaknesses and perspective directions of the development are highlighted. The author defines the priority directions of future scientific researches in the specified sphere. ; В статье исследована и систематизирована совокупность имеющихся научных достижений по вопросам возникновения, становления и развития государственной социальной политики Украины. Осуществлен исторический анализ нормативно-правовой базы социальной сферы украинского государства с момента принятия Декларации о государственном суверенитете Украины по нынешнее время. Прослежена хронологическая последовательность образования социальных институтов и законодательного регулирования общественных отношений в государстве, что обусловило современное состояние социальной политики Украины. Освещен сложный путь становления современной социальной политики Украины, ее достижения, слабые стороны и перспективные направления развития. Socialist and Social Democratic parties leave few political observers and citizens indifferent. For several years, a certain number of actors on the political scene have presented it as a political family in crisis, lacking in imagination and dynamism, incapable of renewal and doomed to fade into insignificance. Others, on the contrary, describe it as a grouping with a promising, even brilliant future.This book does not set out to confirm either of those two visions. Its aim is to analyse in-depth the transformations which are affecting, at the current time, the different aspects of Social Democracy: new organisational models, changes in political and electoral performance, changing relations with the trade unions and civil society associations, reactions to the emergence of new political rivais and new values, new ideological trends and political programmes, etc. For the first time, the analysis does not concern exclusively Western Europe, but also deals with the Social Democratic parties of the consolidated democracies and the organisations that claim to be part of democratic socialism in Central and Eastern Europe, and highlights the specific characteristics and points in common. At the dawn of the 21st century, it is therefore the challenges and the different responses to those challenges that are analysed by several of the leading European specialists in Social Democratic parties in Europe.

The aim of the project is to develop the end of June 2015 collaboration solutions of local institutions and companies for the modernization of enterprises and vocational schools in the Podlaskie region in terms of forms of work organization, forms of performing work, work-life balance and adaptability of professional teachers threatened with unemployment.

Photography and social movements is the first thorough study of photography's interrelationship with social movements. Focusing on the photographic production and dissemination during the student and worker uprising in Paris in May 1968, the Zapatista rebellion, and the anti-capitalist protests in Genoa in 2001, the book argues that at times of political uprisings, photographic documentations, often contradictory, strive to prevail in the public domain, extending the political or economic struggle to a representational level. Photography plays a central role in this representational conflict, by either reproducing or challenging stereotypical narratives of protest. This groundbreaking interdisciplinary analysis of a wide range of practices, amateur and professional, and of previously unpublished archival material will add considerably to students', researchers' and scholars' knowledge of both the visual imagery of political movements and the developing history of photographic representation
