Introduction. Informative revolution of end and distribution of internet-technologies conduces to the sharp strengthening of economic, political and cultural globalization societies, forming of the new social mode, when network streams, network structures and network co-operations, become basis of organization of society. By the most meaningful sources for research of modern network society, organization of that is base on global information technologies there is a scientific inheritance of М. Castells, P. Drucker, М. Porter, H. Etzkowitz, L. Leydesdorff. Only scientific vision of network processes of society, their essence, kinds, structure, functions is however absent, contradiction, factors of development and management mechanisms in new realities of development of civilization.Purpose. The aim of the article of theoretical and methodological ground of network models of organization of society and mechanisms of management of him by political, economic and sociocultural spheres in the conditions of globalization. Methodological basis of research is dialectical principle of cognition, the system, civilization, sinergistical going near the study of the public phenomena and processes, fundamental positions of theory of development of society and management. The cultural and historical is used, historical and anthropological, sociocultural methods that allowed to investigate network organization of society in intersubject cuts.Results. Essence of networks and their kinds are exposed in the wild and society. A structure, role and place of functional networks, is certain in the system of organization of society. The criteria of division of public social networks are specified on a territorial sign. The features of social are distinguished networks in accordance with the stages of development of civilization. Credible directions of network development of post-industrial society are reasonable. The basic models of the organizational mode of public social networks are analysed. The mechanisms of management of vital functions of new society subsystems are worked out.Originality. The concept of concert management in the Republic of Croatia encounters numerous obstacles in any attempt to institutionalize it. Unlike other countries in the European Union, there is no register of the concert stages, venues as well as facilities for the provision of hearing / consumption of music in the form of performances. Process management organization is incomplete, and institutions that are closely associated with such events do not carry out the classification, categorization and analysis of events that are within the concerts' domain. Commercial music, economically far most cost-effective, is completely ignored and within the framework of cultural events not even the slightest attention is given to it. On the contrary, it is considered the music of poor quality and completely irrelevant. This paper tries to frame the mentioned genre, which includes various musical directions that economically bring significant benefits and help the survival of these related activities indirectly, and ultimately have a positive impact on the economy. Comparing global trends it speaks about the position of the Croatian music industry and lists the main obstacles for setting up a solid foundation for the construction of an adequate system of indexation of concert businesses that, as part of the creative industries records a meteoric economic growth.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to provide assistance to universities in the process of developing their ability to identify, measure, manage and value their intangible assets.Design/methodology/approachThe paper takes the form of a review of the most important intellectual capital management initiatives at Spanish public universities.FindingsThe experience gained from the case studies provides a basis for understanding how Spanish universities are measuring and managing their intellectual capital.Research limitations/implicationsDespite its importance, intellectual capital at universities is scarcely dealt with in a specific manner. Up to now, only a few universities have taken the challenge of trying to measure, manage and report on intangible assets.Practical implicationsThis study offers a perspective on how Spanish universities deal with their intellectual capital. In this sense, the first step would be the definition and diffusion of the organisation's strategic objectives. Then, critical intangibles related to these objectives should be identified and the causal network of relationships among them should be established. Afterwards, a set of indicators is defined and developed for each intangible.Originality/valueThis paper shows the importance of intellectual capital approaches as instruments to face the new challenges in Spanish universities. It offers practical help to universities to develop means to identify, measure, manage and value their intangible assets.

Die Verfasserin stellt den Wandel der Staatskonzeptionen im Spiegel der Reformbemühungen im öffentlichen Sektor in der Bundesrepublik seit Ende der 1960er Jahre dar. Mit dem New Public Management soll in Abkehr von der Vision eines allmächtigen Planungsstaats ein paradigmatischer Wandel der Organisations- und Steuerungsmuster in Richtung auf mehr Effektivität, Effizienz, Transparenz und Dezentralisierung vollzogen werden. Diesem neuen Paradigma liegen zwei ökonomische Bezugstheorien zugrunde, der Public-Choice-Ansatz und der betriebswirtschaftliche "Managerialismus". Die Verfasserin weist auf die Gefahr hin, dass eine radikale Version des New Public Management Staatsversagen überbetont und eingleisig mit einer radikalen Einführung von privat- und marktwirtschaftlichen Mechanismen reagiert. PurposeTo reveal and analyze the key issues concerning information systems management in Mainland China.Design/methodology/approachBased on data collected from 286 Chinese companies, 12 top key issues in information systems management in Mainland China are ranked and compared with the results of an earlier study, as well as those from western countries.FindingsWhile the top three critical issues remain unchanged, largely due to the centralized decision‐making mechanism, mandatory management style, and less experience of IT/IS applications, there are distinguishable changes that took place in the past few years. Furthermore, there are different results between different sectors of companies, reflecting respective characteristics and historical development processes of the sectors.Research limitations/implicationsExtended data and measures are required for in‐depth investigation in specific individual industries.Practical implicationsThe study could be helpful for understanding the situations and challenges in information systems management in China and planning IT/IS strategies accordingly.Originality/valueThe paper offers practical help for managers to better understand the IT/IS application context in China.
