For many decades Chinese foreign direct investments in Latin America were not a subject of academic research or political debate. However, thanks to China's fast economic growth, huge saving rate and national reserves, the country plays a more and more important role not only in global trade, being the world's biggest exporter, but also in international investment scene by increasing the number and volume of its overseas businesses. Chinese FDIs in Latin America, although not as controversial as those in Africa, have registered a steady growth and seem to be both a chance and a threat for Latin American states. The scale and structure of FDI still remain relatively poor but the situation in the last years, especially 2009-2010 shows a significant change. Huge amount of Chinese FDI go to Brazil, which is also the recipient of the biggest Chinese single overseas business project (Porto do Aço). As far as Brazilian-Chinese bilateral economic relations are concerned, the complementarity of countries' economies gives hope of beneficial cooperation, but at the same time poses a threat on Brazil of being vulnerable to externalities and losing manufacturing advantage in exports. Moreover, Chinese presence in Latin America means not only counterbalance to the influence of the USA but also undermines Brazilian position in the region. Methodology: the author combines quantitative and qualitative data analysis. Struktura i skala chińskich BIZ nadal pozostaje dość nieznaczna, ale ta sytuacja zmienia się szybko, szczególnie analizując lata 2009-2010. Ogromna część chińskich BIZ trafia do Brazylii, która jest jednocześnie odbiorcą największej indywidualnej chińskiej inwestycji zagranicznej, jaką jest projekt budowy Porto do Aço. Stosunki brazylijsko-chińskie w zakresie współpracy gospodarczej z jednej strony wydają się być bardzo obiecujące z uwagi na komplementarność obu gospodarek, z drugiej jednak strony stwarzają zagrożenie dla Brazylii jakim jest nadmierne uzależnienie się od czynników zewnętrznych oraz utrata przewagi w eksporcie produktów przetworzonych, które wypierane są przez produkty chińskie. Ponadto, chińska obecność w Ameryce Łacińskiej nie oznacza tylko stworzenie przeciwwagi dla Stanów Zjednoczonych, ale podważa również pozycję Brazylii w regionie. The aim of this article is to present various conditions and aspects of the use of processed animal protein (PAP) in the feeding of livestock in the perspective of lifting the 20-year ban on its use in feed and determining its role in the policy of reducing GMOs. The study analyzes the current legal status, as well as new conditions and requirements at each production stage, with the management of processed animal protein based on the relevant Polish and EU legal acts. It also determines the scale of production and directions of the current PAP management, as well as the price conditions of its potential use in feed production. In the analysis, in addition to the literature on the subject, the authors used mainly source data from the Chief Veterinary Inspectorate, Statistics Poland, and the Ministry of Finance. The analysis of organizational and production conditions led to the conclusion that the main problem may be to maintain the so-called species purity in the production of PAP and feed with its use, followed by cross-feeding (PAP from poultry in pig feed and PAP from pigs in poultry feed), and severe consequences in the event of detecting irregularities. Moreover, a limiting factor may be the high price in relation to other protein feeds and consumer expectations that the animal products offered for sale were produced without the use of animal feed. The role and importance of processed animal protein approved for feeding in the balance of high-protein feed raw materials is likely to be small, but every possibility of using domestic protein sources should be encouraged and exploited to reduce the use of imported GM feed and improve protein self-sufficiency. However, a larger scale of domestic use of this very valuable source of protein may require administrative action by introducing indicative targets for the substitution of imported GM feed with domestic protein sources. ; Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie różnych uwarunkowań i aspektów wykorzystania przetworzonego białka zwierzęcego (PAP, ang. processed animal protein) w żywieniu zwierząt gospodarskich, w perspektywie zniesienia dwudziestoletniego zakazu jego stosowania w paszach oraz określenia jego roli w polityce ograniczania GMO. Przeprowadzono analizę aktualnego stanu prawnego oraz nowych uwarunkowań i wymagań na każdym etapie produkcji, a także zagospodarowania przetworzonego białka zwierzęcego, wykorzystując stosowne polskie i unijne akty prawne. Określono skalę produkcji i kierunki dotychczasowego zagospodarowania przetworzonego białka zwierzęcego oraz uwarunkowania cenowe potencjalnego jego wykorzystania w produkcji pasz. W analizie zjawiska, oprócz literatury przedmiotu, korzystano przede wszystkim z danych źródłowych Głównego Inspektoratu Weterynarii (GIW) oraz GUS-u i Ministerstwa Finansów. Przeprowadzona analiza uwarunkowań organizacyjno-produkcyjnych doprowadziła do konkluzji, że głównym problemem może być zachowanie tzw. czystości gatunkowej w procesie produkcji przetworzonego białka zwierzęcego i pasz z jego wykorzystaniem, a następnie krzyżowe skarmianie (drobiowe dla trzody i trzodowe dla drobiu), oraz rygorystyczne konsekwencje w przypadku wykrycia nieprawidłowości. Ponadto czynnikiem ograniczającym może być jego wysoka cena w relacji do innych pasz białkowych oraz oczekiwania konsumentów, że oferowane do sprzedaży produkty zwierzęce zostały wytworzone bez udziału pasz pochodzenia zwierzęcego. Rola i znaczenie dopuszczonego do skarmiania przetworzonego białka zwierzęcego w bilansie wysokobiałkowych surowców paszowych przypuszczalnie będą niewielkie, jednak należy popierać i wykorzystywać każdą możliwość korzystania z krajowych źródeł białka na rzecz ograniczenia stosowania importowanych pasz GM i poprawy samowystarczalności białkowej. Większą skalę krajowego wykorzystania tego bardzo wartościowego źródła białka mogą jednak wymóc działania administracyjne poprzez wprowadzenie wskaźnikowych celów substytucji importowanych pasz GM krajowymi źródłami białka.

The first computer game appeared in the period of the People's Republic of Poland in Wrocław in 1962 (or 1963). Then, commercial projects, appeared in the 1980s. Among them there was first adventure game produced in 1986. In the times of the People's Republic manufacturers of computer games were not treated as professional entrepreneurs. The beginnings of the professionally operating computer games industry in Poland can be found at the end of the 1980s. It was related to the popularization of imported personal computers. The first companies representing that sector were set up by some enthusiasts importing computer games for their own needs mainly from the USA. Players analyzed the construction of the games, learned the programming language and attempted to write their own games by themselves and for themselves. They also traded their products on small local markets. After nearly 30 years since the first company was established, acting professionally in the field of computer games and software, one can observe a real progress. Polish companies achieved global success. The main research problem in finding the sources of the success and recreation of the path the sector went through, beginning from amateur activities to thorough professionalization. It should be looked into what impact on that sector of industry had the political situation in Poland in 1989, including the bankruptcy of communism and development of the free market and openness of the economy on the global markets. A product of this industry ages slowly. ; Pierwsza gra komputerowa w Polsce powstała w okresie tzw. Polski Ludowej we Wrocławiu w 1962 lub 1963 r. Stworzono ją dla polskiego komputera Odra 1003 we Wrocławskich Zakładach Elektronicznych Elwro. Miała ona charakter gry logicznej. Traktowano ją jako naukową ciekawostkę i nie miała szans na komercjalizację. Kolejne, tym razem komercyjne projekty pojawiły się w dekadzie lat 80. XX w. Wśród nich była pierwsza gra przygodowa wyprodukowana w 1986 r. W okresie Polski Ludowej producentów gier komputerowych nie traktowano jako profesjonalnych przedsiębiorców. Władze nie dostrzegły narodzin nowego sektora gospodarki. Początków profesjonalnie działającego w Polsce przemysłu gier komputerowych należy doszukiwać się u schyłku lat 80. XX w. Związane jest to z upowszechnianiem się importowanych komputerów osobistych. Pierwsze firmy reprezentujące ten sektor produkcji były zakładane przez pasjonatów importujących głównie z USA na własne potrzeby gry komputerowe. Gracze analizowali ich budowę, poznawali język programowania i podejmowali próby samodzielnego pisania własnych, przeznaczonych dla siebie i najbliższego otoczenia, gier. Handlowali też tymi produktami na lokalnych bazarach. Zbiorowy portret założycieli firm należących do sektora produkcji gier komputerowych wyróżnia kilka cech. Twórcy tej branży przemysłu byli ludźmi młodymi (20–24 lata). Nie mieli, w przeciwieństwie do rodziców, kompleksów wobec Europy i świata. Łatwo nawiązywali międzynarodowe kontakty i odważnie oferowali swoje produkty na rynkach globalnych. Przedsiębiorców pracujących w tej branży wyróżniały ogromny entuzjazm, zaangażowanie i wiara w osobisty sukces. Po prawie trzydziestu latach od chwili powstania pierwszych firm profesjonalnie działających w branży gier komputerowych zaobserwować można ogromny progres. Polskie firmy odniosły globalny sukces. Podstawowym problemem badawczym jest odszukanie źródeł tego sukcesu, odtworzenie drogi, jaką przebył ten sektor gospodarki od amatorskiej działalności do pełnej profesjonalizacji. Zbadania wymaga, jak duży wpływ na narodziny tego przemysłu miała sytuacja polityczna w Polsce w 1989 r., w tym bankructwo komunizmu i rozkwit wolnego rynku oraz otwarcie gospodarki kraju na rynki globalne. Produkt tego przemysłu starzeje się bardzo wolno, a jak twierdzi część klientów, jest jak książka, która zawsze jest aktualna i do której się wraca.

The aim of this study was to determinate the actual contamination of selected area of Slovakia, in view of its environmental character referred both to the suitability or unsuitability of the use of milk from this area, to other food processing. This article deals with analysis of the content of selected compounds in soil, feed and milk, at the cow and sheep farms. Village in Eastern Slovakia, Tulčík, was the area of investigation. This area is characterized as an area with mild disturbance of environment. 11 compounds have been analyzed (calcium, selenium, cadmium, arsenic, polychlorinated biphenyls – congeners 138, 153, 180, and pesticides - p,p´ DDE, Endosulfan I., Beta-HCH, aflatoxin M1). Samples of soil were collected once a year (spring season), samples of feeds and milk were collected two-times a year (spring and autumn season). Analysis of samples was performed in Eurofins Bel/Novamann (Nové Zámky, Slovak Republic). Analyses were performed by routine methods, according to the valid methodologies. Levels of compounds were obtained and then results have been compared with the most acceptable limits in according to applicable legislation. At both farms, 73.08% (38 samples) of analyzed compounds were below the limit of quantification (LOQ) and 26.92% (14 samples) of compounds were quantifiable. The most significant differences between monitored farms were recorded in soil (27 720 mg·kg-1 Ca), feed (27 620 mg·kg-1 Ca) and milk (960 mg·kg-1 Ca). The high content of calcium in soil and feed did not affect the content of calcium in milk. The results showed that the content of toxic elements, polychorinated biphenyls, pesticides and aflatoxin M1 in analyzed area of Eastern Slovakia was very low and under the limit of quantification. It can be concluded, that the use of milk from this area for direct use or for dairy products is appropriate and poses no health risk to the consumers. ; Cieľom tejto práce bolo zistiť skutočnú kontamináciu vybranej oblasti Slovenska, vzhľadom na jej charakter prostredia a poukázať tak na vhodnosť alebo nevhodnosť využívania mlieka z tejto oblasti na ďalšie potravinárske spracovanie. Predkladaná práca sa zaoberá analýzou obsahu vybraných látok v pôde, krmive a mlieku na ovčej farme a na farme hovädzieho dobytka v oblasti s mierne narušeným prostredím na východnom Slovensku. Celkovo bolo analyzovaných 11 látok (vápnik, selén, cadmium, arzén, polychlórované bifenyly - kongenéry 138, 153, 180 a pesticídy - p,p´ DDE, Endosulfan I., Beta-HCH, aflatoxín M1). Vzorky pôdy boli odoberané raz ročne (jarné obdobie), vzorky krmiva a mlieka dvakrát ročne (jarné a jesenné obdobie). Analýzy vzoriek boli vykonávané v laboratóriách EurofinsBel/Novamann v Nových Zámkoch (Slovenská republika). Analýzy sa vykonávali rutinnými metódami podľa sledovaných látok na kalibrovaných alebo overených meracích zariadeniach podľa platných metodologických predpisov. Získané hodnoty obsahu vybraných látok boli porovnávané s najvyššími prípustnými limitmi podľa platnej legislatívy. V prípade oboch fariem sme zaznamenali, že 73.08% (38 vzoriek) vzoriek sledovaných látok bolo pod limitom kvantifikácie (LOQ) a 26.92% (14 vzoriek) vzoriek bolo kvantifikovateľných. Najvýraznejšie rozdiely sme zaznamenali v obsahu vápnika v pôde (27 720 mg·kg-1 Ca), krmive (27 620 mg·kg-1 Ca) a mlieku (960 mg·kg-1 Ca) medzi monitorovanými farmami. Vysoký obsah vápnika v pôde a krmive nemal vplyv na obsah vápnika v mlieku. Naše výsledky poukázali na nízky obsah toxických prvkov, polychlórovaných bifenylov, pesticídov a aflatoxínu M1 v analyzovanej oblasti východného Slovenska a boli pod limitom kvantifikácie. Záverom môžeme konštatovať, že používanie mlieka z tejto oblasti na priamu spotrebu alebo pre ďalšie spracovanie na mliečne produkty nepredstavuje zdravotné riziko pre konzumentov.

The analysis of articles and normative documents for quality control and regional origin of wines was carried out. Chemical composition of the grapes and the wine has been considered, qualitative and quantitative changes during vinification, maturation and aging of wine were shown. The basic group of compounds contents and ratios which determine the qualitative characteristics of wines, as well as have an important role in the formation of aroma and taste of the drink was found. The prerequisites for the development of the market of counterfeit products and wine falsification methods were discussed. The analysis of scientific literature and regulatory framework governing the quality of the wines on the territory of Russia and the European Union and the existing approaches to determine their authenticity was conducted, the advantages and disadvantages are shown. The examples of using different criteria for the establishment of natural and adulterated wines have been discussed, as well as their approaches to identify and create a comprehensive system of wine production quality evaluation using methods of physicochemical analysis. Рассмотрен химический состав винограда и изготавливаемой из него винодельческой продукции, показано его качественное и количественное изменение в процессе винификации, созревания и выдержки вин. Установлены основные группы соединений, содержания и соотношения которых определяют качественные характеристики вин, а также играют важную роль в формировании аромата и вкуса напитка. Обсуждены предпосылки развития рынка поддельной продукции и способы фальсификации вин. Проведен анализ научной литературы и нормативной базы, регламентирующей качество вин на территории России и стран Европейского союза, существующих подходов к определению их подлинности, указаны достоинства и недостатки. Обсуждены примеры использования различных критериев для установления натуральных и фальсифицированных вин, а также подходов их комплексной идентификации и создания системы оценки качества винодельческой продукции с помощью методов физико-химического анализа. The aim of the article is to present the regulation of the Nicaraguan agricultural market and to identify legal solutions that could contribute to overcoming the unequal distribution of economic resources resulting from domestic agricultural activity in the food supply chain. In particular, the aim is to identify the legal loopholes that contribute to the unequal distribution of resources in the Nicaraguan agri-food supply system and to propose alternative solutions that are available from the point of view of agricultural law science. In the author's opinion, the main difficulty facing the Nicaraguan agricultural producer is the commercialisation of own goods on the agricultural products market of Central America and Nicaragua and the regulatory deficiencies in this respect. The System of Central American Integration (Sistema de la Integración Centroamericana – SICA) in force in most countries of the region, includes on the one hand comprehensive legal regulations concerning agriculture, but on the other hand it does not fully correspond to the modern structure of the agri-food chain. In practice, regional and national legislation is subject to frequent amendments and provides unsatisfactory protection for agricultural producers at every stage of production. The introduction of changes at the regional level in the form of free economic circulation zones and the implementation of the common agricultural policy by Central American countries offers a certain alternative to this situation. ; El objetivo del artículo es presentar la regulación del mercado agrícola nicaragüense e identificar soluciones legales que puedan contribuir a superar la desigual distribución de los recursos económicos resultante de la actividad agrícola nacional en la cadena alimentaria. En particular, se busca identificar los vacíos legales que contribuyen a la distribución desigual de los recursos en el sistema de abastecimiento agroalimentario nicaragüense y proponer soluciones alternativas disponibles desde el punto de vista de la ciencia del derecho agrario. A juicio del autor, la principal dificultad que enfrenta el productor agropecuario nicaragüense es la comercialización de bienes propios en el mercado de productos agrícolas de Centroamérica y Nicaragua y las deficiencias regulatorias al respecto. El Sistema de Integración Centroamericana (Sistema de la Integración Centroamericana - SICA) vigente en la mayoría de los países de la región, incluye por un lado una normativa legal integral en materia de agricultura, pero por otro no se corresponde plenamente con la estructura moderna de la cadena agroalimentaria. En la práctica, la legislación regional y nacional está sujeta a modificaciones frecuentes y proporciona una protección insatisfactoria a los productores agrícolas en todas las etapas de la producción. La introducción de cambios a nivel regional en forma de zonas de libre circulación económica y la implementación de la política agrícola común por parte de los países centroamericanos ofrece una cierta alternativa a esta situación. ; Lo scopo dell'articolo è di presentare la regolamentazione del mercato agricolo in Nicaragua e di indicare soluzioni giuridiche che potrebbero contribuire a superare una distribuzione iniqua delle risorse economiche derivanti dall'attività agricola nazionale all'interno della filiera alimentare. In particolare, si tratta di individuare scappatoie giuridiche che contribuiscono ad una distribuzione iniqua delle risorse nel regime nicaraguense di approvvigionamento per i prodotti agroalimentari e di proporre soluzioni alternative per la loro eliminazione alla luce della scienza del diritto agrario. Secondo l'autore, la principale difficoltà per il produttore agricolo nicaraguense è il processo di commercializzazione dei prodotti sul mercato dei prodotti agricoli dell'America centrale e del Nicaragua nonché carenze normative in questo ambito. Il Sistema dell'integrazione centroamericana (SICA), vincolante nella maggior parte dei paesi della regione, da un lato contiene regolazioni giuridiche complete sull'agricoltura, dall'altro non corrisponde pienamente alla struttura moderna della filiera agroalimentare. In pratica, la legislazione regionale e nazionale è soggetta a frequenti cambiamenti e non protegge in modo sufficiente il produttore agricolo in ogni fase di produzione. Un'alternativa sarebbe quella di introdurre cambiamenti a livello regionale, sotto forma di aree di libero scambio e di attuare la politica agricola comune da parte dei Paesi dell'America centrale. ; Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie regulacji rynku rolnego w Nikaragui oraz wskazanie rozwiązań prawnych, które mogą przyczynić się do przezwyciężenia nierównego podziału zasobów ekonomicznych wynikającego z krajowej działalności rolniczej w łańcuchu dostaw żywności. Celem jest zidentyfikowanie luk prawnych, które przyczyniają się do nierównego podziału zasobów w nikaraguańskim systemie zaopatrzenia w produkty rolno-spożywcze oraz zaproponowanie alternatywnych rozwiązań, które są możliwe z punktu widzenia nauk rolniczych. Zdaniem autora główną trudnością stojącą przed nikaraguańskim producentem rolnym jest komercjalizacja własnych towarów na rynku produktów rolnych Ameryki Środkowej i Nikaragui oraz braki regulacyjne w tym zakresie. Obowiązujący w większości krajów regionu System Integracji Ameryki Środkowej (Sistema de la Integración Centroamericana – SICA) obejmuje z jednej strony kompleksowe regulacje prawne dotyczące rolnictwa, a z drugiej nie w pełni odpowiada współczesnej strukturze łańcucha rolno-spożywczego. W praktyce ustawodawstwo regionalne i krajowe podlega częstym zmianom i nie zapewnia odpowiedniej ochrony producentów rolnych na każdym etapie produkcji. Pewną alternatywę dla tej sytuacji stanowi wprowadzenie zmian na poziomie regionalnym w postaci stref swobodnego przepływu ekonomicznego oraz realizacja wspólnej polityki rolnej przez kraje Ameryki Środkowej.

The population of the Lusatian culture inhabiting the Lublin area during the Bronze age and Early Iron age used various items made of flint and stone. The most spectacular finds include sickles and sickles inserts with surface retouch. Items made from flint and stone were used mainly as tools, but also as weapons, as well as prestige indicators. They also had symbolic function. These artefacts were probably produced on site at settlements and they were among the accessories of everyday life of the population living then. In the Early Iron age, in the valley of the Vistula River, local flint deposits were exploited. Flint knapping workshops were set up here. Extremly numerous flint artefacts were recorded at these workshops and they represent the so-called Kosin industry. ; Przedmioty z krzemienia i kamienia, pełniące zazwyczaj zróżnicowane funkcje narzędziowe, należą na Lubelszczyźnie do stosunkowo częstych znalezisk, ale ich reprezentacja w zespołach jest bardzo ograniczona. Zabytki te oraz większość niewyspecjalizowanych wytworów krzemiennych notowanych na osadach miały szerokie zastosowanie i często zapewne wykorzystywane były do rozmaitych czynności, związanych z obróbką różnych surowców (gliny, drewna, kości, skór, itp.). Wątpliwości nie budzi przeznaczenie żniwne niektórych krzemiennych form z retuszem bifacjalnym i użytkowanie podobnie opracowanych wyrobów jako militariów (płoszcza, grociki), a podstawową funkcję kamiennych toporków wiąże się z obronnością, ale też z uprawą roli, wycinką drzew i ciesiołką, natomiast kamiennych żaren i rozcieraczy – z obróbką ziarna. Jasną dziś dla nas funkcję odzwierciedlają także kamienne osełki i formy odlewnicze. Użytkowa rola narzędzi krzemiennych i kamiennych zyskiwała jednak inny wymiar na cmentarzyskach, gdzie przedmioty te nabierały nowych, symbolicznych treści. Trudna do jednoznacznego oszacowania jest natomiast liczba przedmiotów, będących uzbrojeniem, czy też atrybutami prestiżu. O insygnialnej roli zabytku kamiennego można mówić chyba tylko w przypadku jedynego egzemplarza buławy, choć nie należy wykluczać, że taką funkcję pełniły również topory, młoty oraz niektóre, duże wyroby krzemienne o wyretuszowanych powierzchniach. Z zespołów kultury łużyckiej na Lubelszczyźnie pochodziły zatem rożne wytwory i półwytwory krzemienne oraz artefakty kamienne. Wymienić wśród nich można m.in. rdzenie, odłupki, grociki sercowate i grociki z trzonkiem, noże sierpowate, wkładki sierpowate, płoszcza, topory, żarna, rozcieracze, osełki i inne. Poczynione ostatnimi laty odkrycia niezwykle bogatych inwentarzy krzemiennych na terenie Powiśla Lubelskiego (Kosin, pow. kraśnicki, stan. 10, Kopiec, stan. 4 i 8), stały się podstawą do istotnych ustaleń morfologicznych i określenia najważniejszych cech krzemieniarstwa ludności kultury łużyckiej w tej części Lubelszczyzny, zdefiniowanego pod nazwą "przemysłu kosińskiego". W świetle nowych znalezisk, zjawisko ukryte pod tym pojęciem, utożsamiane do niedawna jedynie z łużycką kulturą tarnobrzeską nad Wisłą i Sanem, ma znacznie szerszy zasięg i odnosi się do łużyckiej wytwórczości krzemieniarskiej na rozleglejszych terytoriach, wykraczając poza Lubelszczyznę. Na wymienionych wyżej stanowiskach, w oparciu o miejscowe złoża surowca świeciechowskiego i gościeradowskiego, we wczesnej epoce żelaza powstawały liczne półwytwory i wytwory krzemienne. Znaleziska te zostały już opracowane i wprowadzone do obiegu naukowego. Inne pracownie nakopalniane zlokalizowane na terenie Pagorow Chełmskich, pracujące w oparciu o miejscowy krzemień rejowiecki, również wykorzystywane były przez ludność kultury łużyckiej. Artefakty krzemienne były również licznie obecne na cmentarzyskach kultury łużyckiej Lubelszczyzny. Występowały one zarówno w przestrzeni cmentarzysk, jak i w samych popielnicach i odnosiły się do kultury symbolicznej, użytkującej te cmentarzyska ludności. Niestety, niemal wszystkie znaleziska toporków kamiennych z Lubelszczyzny, które można by powiązać z kulturą łużycką, nie posiadały żadnego kontekstu, potwierdzającego taką atrybucję. Podobną uwagę można odnieść do znalezisk młotów kamiennych. Zwraca uwagę jeden z bezkontekstowych okazów z powiatu chełmskiego. Młot z Malinowki łączyć trzeba z szeroko pojętym, wschodnioeuropejskim środowiskiem kulturowym okresu przedscytyjskiego. Walcowate lub beczułkowate kamienne młoty, zaliczane do kategorii akcesoriów bojowych, stosunkowo często pojawiały się w zespołach kimmeryjskich na terytoriach stepowych na północ od Morza Czarnego. Wykonywano je z twardych skał, a powierzchnię starannie szlifowano. Ze wschodnim milieu bez wątpienia trzeba także wiązać znaleziska osełek kamiennych oraz płytkę kamienną. Wśród artefaktów kamiennych z czasów kultury łużyckiej na Lubelszczyźnie znalazły się także buława, żarna i rozcieracze, płyty szlifierskie, forma odlewnicza, amulet i gładzik. Pradziejowi mieszkańcy Lubelszczyzny (a w tym ludność kultury łużyckiej), chcąc wykonać użyteczny przedmiot krzemienny, mieli stosunkowo łatwy dostęp do źródeł surowca. Krzemień był nie tylko w różnym natężeniu obecny na powierzchni gruntu, bowiem w kilku miejscach na wskazanym terytorium, a także w niewielkiej odległości poza jego granicami, znajdowały się wychodnie skał krzemionkowych. Do surowców o najniższych walorach użytkowych, a mimo to najczęściej wykorzystywanych – z racji znacznej dostępności, należał krzemień bałtycki, znany również jako krzemień kredowy narzutowy. Zdecydowanie lepsze parametry użytkowe posiadały skały krzemionkowe na terenie Pagórów Chełmskich. Krzemień rejowiecki, którego wychodnie oraz ślady pradziejowej eksploatacji zaczęto lokalizować na tym terytorium od stosunkowo niedawna, był zbliżony do surowców wołyńskich. Kolejne, obfite złoża skał krzemionkowych i miejsca ich wydobycia oraz obróbki znane są na Powiślu Lubelskim. Krzemienie szare turońskie występują tu w kilku odmianach, z których zwłaszcza dwie – świeciechowska (biało nakrapiana) oraz gościeradowska (plamista) były użytkowane przez ludność kultury łużyckiej. Istnieją dowody na to, że na Lubelszczyźnie obróbka krzemienia odbywała się w dwóch odmiennych środowiskach: w pracowniach domowych na osadach oraz w ośrodkach nalub przykopalnianych, poza obszarem bezpośredniego zamieszkania. W pierwszym przypadku odbywało się to w zasięgu obejścia, w budynku mieszkalnym lub też w jego sąsiedztwie, a dowodzą tego liczne relikty odpadów produkcyjnych, notowane zarówno w zespołach zwartych, jak i w warstwie kulturowej. W pracowniach domowych powstawały zazwyczaj formy proste, o niewielkich gabarytach, głównie odłupki, a ich wykonanie nie wymagało wysokich umiejętności. Surowiec był pozyskiwany z powierzchni gruntu, w najbliższej okolicy. Proces obróbki krzemienia w zasięgu obejścia mieszkalno-gospodarczego na osadzie mógł mieć charakter ciągły i odbywać się nie tylko w miesiącach letnich, ale także zimą, pod warunkiem posiadania zapasów surowca. Można przy tym założyć, że zasób przyborów krzemiennych wykorzystywanych w codziennym życiu wymagał ciągłej odnowy. Wyspecjalizowane pracownie obróbki krzemienia powstawały natomiast w miejscach wychodni tego surowca. Zlokalizowanie i eksploatowanie takiego miejsca wymagało od społeczności pradziejowych (w tym ludności kultury łużyckiej) pewnej wiedzy geologicznej i praktycznych umiejętności. Wydaje się, że wiedza o istnieniu źródeł surowca wynikała z długotrwałej tradycji ich eksploatacji. W konkluzji do powyższych uwag stwierdzić należy, że dla ludności kultury łużyckiej Lubelszczyzny skały krzemionkowe stanowiły ważne źródło do wyrobu narzędzi i broni. Widać wyraźnie dwie jak gdyby równoległe ścieżki ówczesnego krzemieniarstwa: obniżenie powszechnych umiejętności w dziedzinie wytwórczości domowej oraz wysoką krzemieniarską biegłość i wiedzę, przejawianą przez jednostki w miejscach występowania złóż surowca. Sytuacja ta w uderzający sposób znajduje odzwierciedlenie w innej dziedzinie wytwórczości omawianych odcinków pradziejów na Lubelszczyźnie, a mianowicie w metalurgii, gdzie obok powstających sposobem domowym prostych wyrobów, pojawiały się wysoko zaawansowane przedmioty, wykonane przez specjalistów, dysponujących surowcem i umiejętnościami.
