We obtain a matrix characterization of semiclassical orthogonal polynomials in terms of the Jacobi matrix associated with the multiplication operator in the basis of orthogonal polynomials, and the lower triangular matrix that represents the orthogonal polynomials in terms of the monomial basis of polynomials. The present work tries to explain the proceeding and discharge of don Diego Luis Moctezuma Ilhuitltemoctzin, grandson of the hueytlatoani Moctezuma Xocoyotzin, son of don Pedro Moctezuma Tlacahuepantzin and father of don Pedro Tesifón Moctezuma, the first Count of Moctezuma and Vizconde de Ilucan. Don Diego Luis Moctezuma played an important role during the second half of the 16th century and the first years of the XVIIth, first as son of don Pedro Moctezuma, who sends it to the Court and Kingdom of Castile to defending before the King of Spain and the Council of The Indies his interests as legitimate inheritor of Moctezuma Xocoyotzin. Later, when don Diego Luis converted into successor of his brother don Martin Cortés Moctezuma, one sees affected by the politics of the Crown and the Council of The Indies of systematic weakening of the indigenous nobility. His departure of the New Spain and the promises broken by part of the Crown determine the politics of Philip II and Philip III with the inheritors of Moctezuma Xocoyotzin. ; El presente trabajo pretende mostrar la actuación y desempeño de don Diego Luis Moctezuma Ilhuitltemoctzin, nieto del hueytlatoani Moctezuma Xocoyotzin, hijo de don Pedro Moctezuma Tlacahuepantzin y padre de don Pedro Tesifón Moctezuma, primer conde de Moctezuma y vizconde de Ilucan. AbstractPrior confronting findings on the association between corporate social responsibility and profitability show that some aspects remain to be clarified about this binomial. Contributing to this body of research is particularly interesting in the case of the exporters to understand the role that corporate social responsibility may play in improving export performance. This study aims to determine the impact of firms' corporate social responsibility efforts on their export performance by examining innovation and the legal form of the organization as factors that could affect this relationship. Using data from 107 agri‐food companies, we found that corporate social responsibility has no direct effect on export performance. However, our results show that innovation serves as a mediator in this relationship. It was also found that companies that adopt associative legal forms (i.e., cooperatives) benefit more from their social responsibility practices than companies that adopt non‐associative legal forms.

El autor cuestiona la profundidad de los estereotipos femeninos de la Edad Media. La cultura dominante de componente clerical desarrolla arquetipos negativos a partir de fuentes bíblicas y teorías clásicas (filosóficas y médicas). Aunque el modelo dominante será la mujer casada, se dispondrá de roles alternativos de afirmación, caso de la figura mística, la matrona del hogar y la curandera. Sin embargo, el triunfo de la mujer medieval llega a través del poder político-religioso de reinas y abadesas, de su vigor como señora en el amor cortés o de las excepcionales intelectuales que surgieron. / The scope of stereotypes about women in the middle age is reviewed. The dominant culture is clergy and it is based on the Bible and the classical literature. During the Middle Ages, the main model of the women stereotype was the married woman dependent on her husband. Other alternative roles emerge: mystical woman, matron woman and sorceress woman. The triumph of the woman comes from politics and religion with queens and abbesses, through courtly love or some intellectual women.

Se publican en este libro los textos de diez lecciones sobre la filosofía política de John Rawls ofrecidas entre los meses de marzo y junio de 2002 por siete profesores de filosofía, estudiosos de la obra de este autor y que trabajan en diversas instituciones universitarias colombianas. Estas lecciones estuvieron destinadas a un público no especializado y en esa medida constituyen una introducción, no solamente al pensamiento de Rawls, sino a un segmento importante de las discusiones y debates en el ámbito de la filosofía política contemporánea, Como tendrá ocasión de notarlo el lector, los contenidos de los ensayos reflejan perspectivas diversas sobre la obra de Rawls, tanto en lo que se refiere a su comprensión y a su interpretación propiamente dichas, como a la posición que los autores asumen frente a ella. La obra de este importante filósofo contemporáneo, en efecto, ha marcado de tal modo la escena de las discusiones y debates filosofico-políticos, que es prácticamente imposible abocar su estudio sin terminar tomando una posición frente a ella. De ahí el título que se le ha dado a este volumen: Con Rawls y contra Rawls. Los textos que se presentan a continuación reflejan lo más fielmente posible los contenidos de las lecciones de 2002. Con excepción del ensayo de Andrés Hernández, todos los demás textos conservan sus redacciones originales, más con la intención de conservar la huella histórica de los planteamientos de sus autores, que como testimonio de que éstos no hayan sufrido ninguna modificación desde entonces. Las referencias bibliográficas remiten a la Bibliografía general que aparece al final del volumen.

We present a new structure relation for the sequence of orthogonal polynomials associated with a D-v-semiclassical linear functional of class s, and then we use it to obtain a matrix characterization of the D-v-semiclassical orthogonal polynomials in terms of the Jacobi matrix associated with the multiplication operator in the basis of orthonormal polynomials, and the nonsingular lower triangular matrix that represents the orthogonal polynomials with respect to some bases of polynomials. The continuous performance improvement of business processes usually involves the definition of a set of process performance indicators (PPIs) with their target values. These PPIs can be classified into lag PPIs, which establish a goal that the organization is trying to achieve, though are not directly influenceable by process performers, and lead PPIs, which are influenceable by process performers and have a predictable impact on the lag indicator. Determining thresholds for lead PPIs that enable the fulfillment of the related lag PPI is a key task, which is usually done based on the experience and intuition of the process owners. However, the amount and nature of currently available data make it possible for data-driven decisions to be made in this regard. This paper proposes a method that applies statistical techniques for thresholds determination successfully employed in other domains. En este primer número hemos querido centrar la atención en una pregunta cuya respuesta parece ser en extremo obvia para quienes trabajamos y hacemos teoría social desde Latinoamérica, al punto que la pregunta misma parece carecer de real sentido e importancia: "¿Existe teoría social en América Latina?" Sin embargo, el abordaje de la relación entre las pretensiones de universalidad de las teorías de la sociedad y las particularidades de la realidad latinoamericana apunta precisamente al fundamento de la cuestión: a saber, problematizar la tendencia muy propia de nuestras ciencias sociales de esencializar el territorio que da forma y fundamento a una "teoría social latinoamericana" —pues transforma dicha reflexión en un ejercicio "de", "sobre" o "para" ese territorio—, así como la actitud de absolutizar el carácter abstracto de la "teoría social general" —pues lleva a subestimar el diálogo con toda reflexión que apele a aspectos trascendentes o universales de la existencia humana en sociedad—. Esta es justamente la tarea que emprenden Alejandro Fielbaum, Ismael Puga y Alexis Cortés en éste número.
