Perspectives of the clothing and textile industry in Mauritius in the face of changing external and internal conditions: Challenges for enterprises and institutions
This report presents the findings of a research project on the perspectives of the clothing and textile industry in Mauritius carried out by a study group of the German Development Institute in Berlin. The research team spent eleven weeks in Mauritius (February-April 1992) to conduct questionnaire-based interviews with companies in the Mauritius Export Processing Zone (MEPZ) and institutions involved in the process of fostering the outward looking export-oriented development path of this island economy. 54 companies were selected in order to get a representative sample of firms involved in this study. On the other hand more than 15 private and public institutions were included in this survey. (DÜI-Hff)
