On November 12, 2021 at the University of National and World Economy under the patronage of the Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov was held an annual scientific conference on "Economic challenges: crisis, recovery, sustainability". The special guest of the event was Mr. Atanas Pekanov, Deputy Prime Minister for the Management of EU Funds. The forum was attended by representatives of employers, trade unions, central and local government and NGOs. Guests were also Prof. Dr. Mihail Musov, Deputy Rector for Research and International Cooperation, and Prof. Dr. Rosen Kirilov, Deputy Rector for Digitalization and Cyber Security. As the organizer of the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivaylo Beev, Head of the Economics Department of the UNWE, noted his satisfaction with the wide attendance at this traditional forum. He drew attention to the fact that despite its regular holding for the Department of Economics this is the most important event of the year. "This is the time when we check our watches with the college, with the practice, with the students and their views. The responsibility of this forum is to maintain the leading position of the department and the university in the development of economic science."

Resource exchange theory suggests service recovery compensation is optimal when it is commensurate with what was lost (e.g., refund for overcharging). However, in practice, companies cannot always follow the theory-driven prescriptions, and the complaint recovery literature remains silent on how to best recover in such suboptimal situations. This study takes a resource-based theory stance to propose Mix&Match, a complaint recovery framework for tangible compensation offers (refunds, redeliveries, or credits) to optimize customer retention and lifetime value in both optimal and suboptimal complaint recovery scenarios. We find that matching tangible compensation with the complaint cause (e.g., redelivery for expired products) is the most effective recovery response for improving customer retention and lifetime value. However, in suboptimal nonmatching scenarios, monetary compensation in the form of store credit proves to be the most effective response.

read before the Society, 26 April 2018; Symposium: ?Where? will the Economy be in 2040? Delivering on the National Development Framework ; The National Planning Framework (NPF) was published by Government together with the National Development Plan, as ?Project Ireland 2040?, in February 2018. An explanation of how the National Planning Framework will be implemented, is assisted by setting out the overall context for planning in Ireland, as well as the spatial pattern of settlement in recent decades. It is in this context that the logic and intent of the NPF strategy and the necessary levers for implementation, become apparent.

Viewing the September 11 terrorist attack on New York and Washington as an attack not just on an individual nation but also on a NATO partner &, moreover, as an event that could be repeated elsewhere, Canada, like many other nations, took stock of the adequacy of its armed forces for national defense as well as for the defense of other countries according to its pledged obligations, especially to its fellow NATO members. A key strategic policy issue is Canada's perceived capability to "fight against the best alongside the best," with reference to the availability, deployability, & sustainability of its armed forces & their materiel. Differences between the meanings of national security & national strategy held by Canada, the UK, & the US are noted, especially the latter's understanding that national security is inextricably linked with international security. In this light, a new national security framework for Canada is presented. Figures, References. J. Stanton
