Existe abundante legislación de carácter internacional y nacional que requiere incluir la perspectiva de género en la educación superior. Esta legislación viene motivada por la demanda social de evitar perpetuar la desigualdad de género. El objetivo de esta investigación es poner el foco en los estudios de economía y empresa en una universidad española a través de un análisis de sus actividades y contenido desde una perspectiva de género. En concreto se examinan los planes docentes, los referentes académicos y se realiza un análisis cualitativo de las opiniones del estudiantado a través de grupos de discusión de estudiantes que estan cursando los dos últimos cursos del grado. Los resultados muestran cómo la perspectiva de género está presente de manera anécdotica en los contenidos académicos y que tanto los referentes bibliográficos como las figuras de poder son principalmente autores hombres, perpetuando la imagen de que el conocimiento reside en la figura masculina. El estudiantado revela un grado considerable de desconocimiento de las causas y consecuencias de las desigualdades de género que les incapacita para formar una visión crítica de la economía y la sociedad. Los resultados subrayan la necesidad de analizar aspectos relacionados con la traslación de la normativa vigente a las universidades. ; There is abundant international and national legislation requiring the inclusion of the gender perspective in higher education. This legislation is motivated by a social demand to avoid perpetuating gender inequality. This study investigates in detail the studies of economics and business in a Spanish university through an analysis of its activities and content from a gender perspective. Specifically, the teaching plans and their academic references are examined complemented with a qualitative analysis gathered through third- and fourth-year students focus groups. The results show how the gender perspective is only anecdotally present in the academic content and that bibliographic references and most of the senior academic figures are male, thus perpetuating the belief that knowledge is embodied in a masculine figure. The discussion groups with students confirm their lack of knowledge of the causes and consequences of gender inequalities, which makes them incapable of forming a critical vision of the economy and society. The results highlight the need to analyze aspects related to the transfer of current regulations to universities.

INTRODUCTION: Community engagement (CE) is an effective public health strategy for improving health outcomes. There is limited published knowledge about effective approaches to CE in ensuring effective responses to COVID-19 throughout lockdowns, travel restrictions and social distancing. In this paper, we contribute to bridging this gap by highlighting experience of CE in Vietnam, specifically focusing on migrant workers in Vietnam. METHODS: A cross-sectional qualitative study design was used with qualitative data collection was carried out during August-October 2020. Two districts were purposefully selected from two large industrial zones. Data was collected using in-depth interviews (n = 36) with individuals and households, migrants and owners of dormitories, industrial zone factory representatives, community representatives and health authorities. Data was analyzed using thematic analysis approach. The study received ethics approval from the Hanoi University Institutional Review Board. RESULTS: The government's response to COVID-19 was spearheaded by the multi-sectoral National Steering Committee for the Prevention and Control of COVID-19, chaired by the Vice Prime Minister and comprised different members from 23 ministries. This structure was replicated throughout the province and local levels and all public and private organizations. Different activities were carried out by local communities, following four key principles of infection control: early detection, isolation, quarantine and hospitalization. We found three key determinants of engagement of migrant workers with COVID-19 prevention and control: availability of resources, appropriate capacity strengthening, transparent and continuous communication and a sense of trust in government legitimacy. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: Our results support the current literature on CE in infection control which highlights the importance of context and suggests that future CE should consider five key components: multi-sectoral collaboration with a whole-of-community approach to strengthen governance structures with context-specific partnerships; mobilization of resources and decentralization of decision making to encourage self-reliance and building of local capacity; capacity building through training and supervision to local institutions; transparent and clear communication of health risks and sensitization of local communities to improve compliance and foster trust in the government measures; and understanding the urgent needs ensuring of social security and engaging all parts of the community, specifically the vulnerable groups.

Scientific topicality. Use of the digital technologies and devices that are designed and adapted for people with special needs removes physical and mental barriers. This allows them better integrate into society and be more financially independent. National Strategy for Space without Barriers is being developed in Ukraine now. Therefore, the study of global trends in this area is relevant. The purpose of the article is to analyze the latest researches on the implementation of assistive technologies in libraries and identify trends in theoretical and practical achievements in the world. Presentation of main material. After analyzing the articles of leading librarians, the main aspects for research by scientists were highlighted: Development of general requirements, criteria and approaches for government programs for the introduction of assistive technologies and ensuring access without barriers. Studying the activities of university libraries in the process of using assistive technologies. The use of assistive technology in public libraries. Research on assistive technologies in library sites — the extent to which libraries are technically accessible for remote service and user education, including the one for people with special needs. Research on the necessity and effectiveness of the use of assistive technologies among users with special needs in libraries using the method of interviewing. Findings. The analysis of publications shows that the attention of scientists is directed to finding solutions for the availability of libraries through the introduction of assistive technologies. Practical significance. The selection and analysis of foreign publications will help in the selection of techniques, methods and tools for the implementation of assistive technologies in the libraries of our country. ; Створення безбар'єрного інклюзивного бібліотечного середовища нині є одним з пріоритетних напрямів у розробці стратегій розвитку документно-інформаційних структур. Інформування про сучасні тенденції на основі вивчення світових практик використання асистивних технологій у бібліотеках надає можливості для розробки власних перспективних стратегій розвитку документно-інформаційних структур України. Завдяки виконаному аналізу наукових статей, присвячених забезпеченню доступності бібліотечних послуг для осіб з особливими потребами в результаті впровадження асистивних технологій, виокремлено основні проблемні аспекти, а саме: потреба в розробці міжнародної (державної, регіональної, місцевої) уніфікованої програми та стандартів для забезпечення загальної доступності до бібліотек, пошук альтернативних каналів фінансування, недостатня кваліфікація персоналу бібліотеки, що впливає на якість надання послуг тощо.

13 Pág. ; Mixed-species stands have been found to be more productive than would be expected from the performance of their component species in monocultures due to facilitation and complementarity between species, although these interactions depend on the combination of species present. Our study focuses on monospecific and mixed-species stands of Scots pine and Norway spruce using 20 triplets established in nine countries along a climatic gradient across Europe. Differences in mean tree and stand characteristics, productivity and stand structure were assessed. Basal area increment in mixed stands was 8% higher than expected while volume increment was only 2% greater. Scots pine trees growing in mixed-species stands showed 11% larger quadratic mean diameter, 7% larger dominant diameter, 17% higher basal area and 25% higher stand volume than trees growing in monospecific stands. Norway spruce showed only a non-significant tendency to lower mean values of diameters, heights, basal area, as well standing volume in mixtures than monocultures. Stand structure indices differed between mixed stands and monocultures of Scots pine showing a greater stratification in mixed-species stands. Furthermore, the studied morphological traits showed little variability for trees growing in monospecific stands, except for diameter at breast height, crown length and crown length ratio. For trees growing in mixed stands, all the morphological traits of the trees were identified as different. Some of these morphological traits were associated with relative productivity. The adaptation to the restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic included considering new approaches, such as a broader use of information and communication technologies (ICTs). The Colombian Roundtable for Sustainable Cattle (MGS in Spanish) is a multi-actor platform supporting the transformation towards a sustainable cattle sector. The MGS mainly focused on face-to-face activites, such as meetings for information exchange or capacity building events in the field, which had to be stopped once the pandemic had started in Colombia. In order to mitigate the related negative impacts during the strict lockdown, four MGS member institutions (FAO, National University of Colombia, CATIE and Alliance Bioversity-CIAT) decided to organise a virtual seminar series on sustainable beef and dairy systems and value chains. The objective of this article is to describe this effort, its reach and importance for the sector, its viral spread, as well as the lessons learned. The event was comprised by four modules, each with a weekly seminar during four weeks: i) greenhouse gases; ii) biodiversity, landscapes, and ecosystem services; iii) markets and consumers, and iv) agricultural extension. Each module invited experts from different institutions/sectors, to present their (scientific) advances and approaches. Initially aimed at the 53 MGS member institutions in order to keep the exchange active and build capacities, the initiative had an outstanding record of assistance, by reaching an average of 1,300 views/week. The importance of the topics and the viralisation of the initiative gathered people from 23 countries. The feedback received was very positive, and the attendees rated the presenters regarding clarity, level of expertise, time management, and if the goals were reached. About 30% of the audience were cattle producers, reaching a key stakeholder and contributing to strengthening their capacities regarding the implementation of sustainable production technologies. Other participants came from academia, NGOs, governmental institutions, and private companies. With these promising results and a big database of people interested in sustainable cattle production, the MGS could strengthen its role as actor for a regional dialogue, and contribute to the strengthening of the public policy framework and the formulation of high impact projects for sustainable intensification.

He was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor, silver and bronze medals for the development of 5 automatic installations that were exhibited at the exhibition of achievements of the national economy, he was also awarded two government awards. A. Podkorytov is the author of 27 copyright certificates for inventions, more than 549 printed scientific and methodological works published in Ukraine and abroad. Among them are several textbooks and textbooks on sketching geometry, computer graphics, several monographs. A.Podkorytov edited inter-university scientific and methodological collections on textual geometry. Today, the head of the scientific school "Applied Geometry and Engineering Graphics" named after Anatoly Nikolayevich Podkorytov is his student, Academician of the Higher School of Ukraine, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Ismailova Nellya. The basis of all research areas of the scientific school is applied mechanics, the main areas of scientific research are related to weapons and military equipment. Environmentally available sodium tends to decrease with increasing elevation, and sodium resources in these sodium-poor environments are critical for the survival of herbivores. Eucalypt leaves in the subalpine Monaro region of NSW, Australia contain much less sodium than eucalypt leaves at lower elevations, and subalpine koalas obtain this much needed resource by eating the bark from some Eucalyptus mannifera trees. To better understand the availability of salty-barked trees, we searched for evidence of koala bark chewing at 100 randomly generated locations in the region. We found 318 E. mannifera trees with koala chew marks. We also analysed sodium concentrations in the bark of three unchewed E. mannifera trees from each site to determine whether there were trees with high bark sodium content that had not yet been utilized by koalas. Although 90% of unchewed trees had sodium concentrations less than 225.4 mg.kg-1 DM, some unchewed trees contained high sodium concentrations (up to 1213.1 mg.kg-1 DM). From the random survey, we can extrapolate that 11% of trees in this area have bark sodium above 300 mg.kg-1 DM, which is based on the concentration of bark sodium observed in at least moderately chewed trees. We would expect to find 0.24 of these trees per 200 m2, or 720,000 salty-barked trees in the 30 km by 20 km study area. Bark chewing by koalas is widespread in the area, and trees with salty bark are more common than initially thought. We discuss correlations with the occurrence of salty-barked trees and other landscape attributes; however, questions remain about why some E. mannifera trees have much more bark sodium than others. Studies such as this one should be expanded to identify sodium resources and their availability for other herbivorous species, since many are predicted to move to higher elevations in response to climate change. ; KNY received funding to support this work from the New South Wales (NSW) Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH). We present a combined experimental and theoretical study of the two-dimensional electron states at the iridium-silicide surface of the antiferromagnet GdIr2Si2 above and below the Néel temperature. Using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) we find a significant spin-orbit splitting of the surface states in the paramagnetic phase. By means of ab initio density-functional-theory (DFT) calculations we establish that the surface electron states that reside in the projected band gap around the ¯¯¯¯M point exhibit very different spin structures which are governed by the conventional and the cubic Rashba effect. The latter is reflected in a triple spin winding, i.e., the surface electron spin reveals three complete rotations upon moving once around the constant energy contours. Below the Néel temperature, our ARPES measurements show an intricate photoemission intensity picture characteristic of a complex magnetic domain structure. The orientation of the domains, however, can be clarified from a comparative analysis of the ARPES data and their DFT modeling. Todd. ; The productive eastern boundary current (EBC) systems provide significant sources of global marine protein and have been subject to intense research over the last 50 years. Yet large jellyfish, which are present in all four major systems, have seldom been included in otherwise comprehensive reviews. This undoubtedly reflects their lack of intrinsic commercial value, and the consequently slow pace of knowledge generation. We attempt to redress that imbalance here and to consolidate disparate information on the macromedusae of EBC systems. With the exception of the Canary Current system, which supports a generally low biomass of mostly subtropical taxa, 372jellyfish assemblages in the Benguela, Humboldt and California Current systems are dominated by cool water taxa that can occur at high abundances. While there are large gaps in knowledge, which are highlighted, it is clear that jellyfish can play significant ecological roles in each system. NADPH oxidase 4 (NOX4) regulates endothelial inflammation by producing hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and to a lesser extent O2•-. The ratio of NOX4-derived H2O2 and O2•- can be altered by coenzyme Q (CoQ) mimics. Therefore, we hypothesize that cytochrome b5 reductase 3 (CYB5R3), a CoQ reductase abundant in vascular endothelial cells, regulates inflammatory activation. To examine endothelial CYB5R3 in vivo, we created tamoxifen-inducible endothelium-specific Cyb5r3 knockout mice (R3 KO). Radiotelemetry measurements of systolic blood pressure showed systemic hypotension in lipopolysaccharides (LPS) challenged mice, which was exacerbated in R3 KO mice. Meanwhile, LPS treatment caused greater endothelial dysfunction in R3 KO mice, evaluated by acetylcholine-induced vasodilation in the isolated aorta, accompanied by elevated mRNA expression of vascular adhesion molecule 1 (Vcam-1). Similarly, in cultured human aortic endothelial cells (HAEC), LPS and tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α) induced VCAM-1 protein expression was enhanced by Cyb5r3 siRNA, which was ablated by silencing the Nox4 gene simultaneously. Moreover, super-resolution confocal microscopy indicated mitochondrial co-localization of CYB5R3 and NOX4 in HAECs. APEX2-based electron microscopy and proximity biotinylation also demonstrated CYB5R3's localization on the mitochondrial outer membrane and its interaction with NOX4, which was further confirmed by the proximity ligation assay. Notably, Cyb5r3 knockdown HAECs showed less total H2O2 but more mitochondrial O2•-. Using inactive or non-membrane bound active CYB5R3, we found that CYB5R3 activity and membrane translocation are needed for optimal generation of H2O2 by NOX4. Lastly, cells lacking the CoQ synthesizing enzyme COQ6 showed decreased NOX4-derived H2O2, indicating a requirement for endogenous CoQ in NOX4 activity. Laminated metal dichalcogenides are candidates for different potential applications ranging from catalysis to nanoelectronics. However, efforts are still needed to optimize synthesis methods aiming to control the number of layers, morphology, and crystallinity, parameters that govern the properties of the synthesized materials. Another important parameter is the thickness and the length of the samples with the possibility of large-scale growth of target homogeneous materials. Here, we report a chemical vapor deposition method at atmospheric pressure to produce vertically aligned tin dichalcogenide based-materials. Tin disulfide (SnS2) and tin diselenide (SnSe2) vertically aligned nanosheets have been synthesized and characterized by different methods showing their crystallinity and purity. Homogenous crystalline 2H-phase SnS2 nanosheets with high purity were synthesized with vertical orientation on substrates; sulfur vacancies were observed at the edges of the sheets. Similarly, in the crystalline 2H phase SnSe2 nanosheets selenium vacancies were observed at the edges. Moreover, these nanosheets are larger than the SnS2 nanosheets, show lower nanosheet homogeneity on substrates and contamination with selenium atoms from the synthesis was observed. The synthesized nanomaterials are interesting in various applications where the edge accessibility and/or directionality of the nanosheets play a major role as for example in gas sensing or field emission. ; This research work was financed by a grant from the University of Namur. The area is typical of the Front Range of the Colorado Rookies, representing a wide variety of ecologic conditions ranging from Upper Sonoran to Alpine Zones. The watershed is used as a research, education, and demonstration area under cooperative agreements between the U. S. Forest Service and Colorado State University. Both the legal definition of multiple-use and the multiple-use planning procedures of the U, S. Forest Service are analyzed. Soll, water, recreation, timber, range, wildlife, fish, and mineral resources, representative of the Great, Intermediate, Travel Influence, and Water Influence multiple-use planning zones are discussed along with the activities of agencies, landowners, and interest groups involved with management and use of the watershed. Eight multiple-use problems are discussed, including: alpine grazing, cross-country travel, private property, roads, local economies, use of the area for research versus other uses, clearcutting and regeneration of subalpine timber stands, and clearcutting of timber stands for water yield versus scenic values, and a number of alternative solutions are suggested. Conclusions reached are that the watershed cannot be used solely for research, education, and demonstration purposes without consideration of other uses made of the land and resources. The area is most valued for its recreation, water, wildlife, and timber resources. In order for multiple-use to work, a planner must accept the multiple-use doctrine and must consider the broad viewpoint of natural resources management. To do this he should have a good overall knowledge of natural resources and of the social and political implications of resource management. Because of the lack of detailed land and resource information he must rely on good judgement in making multiple-use decisions. Another result of this lack of information is the present tendency of multiple-use plans to be very general in content and uncertain as to management direction, but this does not lessen the value of multiple-use planning as a means to coordinate and guide management of multiple resources.

Retinitis pigmentosa (RP) is a group of inherited retinal disorders that lead to photoreceptor loss. RP has been reported to be related to oxidative stress, autophagy, and inflammation. (-)-Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), the most abundant catechin-based flavonoid in green tea leaves, has significant antioxidant, anti-carcinogenic, antimicrobial, and neuroprotective properties. EGCG, given its low molecular weight and hydrophilic properties, can cross the blood-retinal barrier and is able to reach different ocular tissues such as the lens, cornea, and retina. EGCG has been shown to provide retinal protection against ischemia; sodium nitroprusside-, N-methyl-D-aspartate-, lipopolysaccharide-, light-, sodium iodate-, or H2O2-induced damage and diabetic retinopathy. This suggests that systemic EGCG administration has the potential to protect against retinal degenerative or neurodegenerative diseases such as RP. The aim of this work was to investigate whether EGCG can protect against RP progression in the animal P23H line 1, the model of RP. Albino P23H rats were crossed with pigmented Long Evans rats to produce offspring exhibiting the clinical features of RP. Pigmented P23H rats were treated via intraperitoneal injection with saline or EGCG at a dose of 25 mg/kg every week from P100 to P160 and then compared to wild-type Long Evans rats. Rats treated with EGCG showed better visual and retinal electrical function with increased contrast sensitivity and b-wave values compared with those observed in P23H rats treated with vehicle. EGCG reduced lipid peroxidation and increased total antioxidant capacity and catalase and superoxide dismutase activities. No differences were observed in visual acuity, nitrate levels, nitrite levels or glutathione S-transferase activity. In conclusion, EGCG not only reduced the loss of visual function in P23H rats but also improved the levels of antioxidant enzymes and reduced oxidative damage. While bees are critical to sustaining a large proportion of global food production, as well as pollinating both wild and cultivated plants, they are decreasing in both numbers and diversity. Our understanding of the factors driving these declines is limited, in part, because we lack sufficient data on the distribution of bee species to predict changes in their geographic range under climate change scenarios. Additionally lacking is adequate data on the behavioral and anatomical traits that may make bees either vulnerable or resilient to human-induced environmental changes, such as habitat loss and climate change. Fortunately, a wealth of associated attributes can be extracted from the specimens deposited in natural history collections for over 100 years.Extending Anthophila Research Through Image and Trait Digitization (Big-Bee)is a newly funded US National Science Foundation Advancing Digitization of Biodiversity Collections project. Over the course of three years, we will create over one million high-resolution 2D and 3D images of bee specimens (Fig.1), representing over 5,000 worldwide bee species, including most of the major pollinating species. We will also develop tools to measure bee traits from images and generate comprehensive bee trait and image datasets to measure changes through time. The Big-Bee network of participating institutions includes 13 US institutions (Fig.2) and partnerships with US government agencies. We will develop novel mechanisms for sharing image datasets and datasets of bee traits that will be available through an open,Symbiota-Light(Gilbert et al. 2020) data portal called the Bee Library. In addition, biotic interaction and speciesassociationdata will be shared viaGlobal Biotic Interactions(Poelen et al. 2014). TheBig-Bee projectwill engage the public in research through community science via crowdsourcing trait measurements and data transcription from images usingNotes from Nature(Hill et al. 2012). Training and professional development for natural history collection staff, researchers, and university students in data science will be provided through the creation and implementation of workshops focusing on bee traits and species identification. We are also planning a short, artistic college radio segment called "the Buzz" to get people excited about bees, biodiversity, and the wonders of our natural world.This poster was prepared for TDWG 2021 virtual conference.
