Background. Today, allergic respiratory diseases in children, including asthma and allergic rhinitis, are a relevant medical and social problem associated with a high risk of disability, a significant reduction in the quality of life of patients and their families, and a significant financial burden on patients and the government. Bronchial asthma and allergic rhinitis often coexist, complicating the course of each other. Children with respiratory allergic diseases are particularly vulnerable to acute respiratory infections. Respiratory viruses, in turn, play an important role in the pathogenesis of bronchial asthma and allergic rhinitis, contributing to the development of diseases and acting as triggers for their exa­cerbations. One of the possible causes of predisposition to frequent acute respiratory infections in children with allergic pathology of the respiratory system may be a lack of nonspecific factors of mucosal immunity of the respiratory tract — endogenous cationic amphiphilic antimicrobial peptides, in particular, cathelicidin and human defensin. According to many studies, these antimicrobial peptides have antiviral, antimicrobial and immunomodulatory effects. However, nowadays there is insufficient data on the state of production of antimicrobial peptides and their impact on respiratory morbidity in children with allergic diseases. At the same time, some literature sources describe the positive effect of individual probiotic strains, in particular Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG, on the overall resistance to respiratory viral infection and the prevention of atopic diseases. The purpose of our research was to study the concentrations of antimicrobial peptides (HbD-2 and LL-37) in the secretion of the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract in children with bronchial asthma and allergic rhinitis, to clarify their role in protection against respiratory viral infection and to estimate the effectiveness of a probiotic preparation containing Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG in the prevention of acute respiratory infections and reduction of the frequency of virus-induced exacerbations of allergic pathology. Materials and methods. We conducted a clinical and laboratory examination of 76 children aged 7 to 17 years, 24 of whom were diagnosed with allergic rhinitis, 28 children — bronchial asthma, and 24 — bronchial asthma and allergic rhinitis. The control group consisted of 20 clinically healthy children of matched age and sex. Research methods also included the analysis of respiratory disease patterns, determination of concentrations of antimicrobial peptides: cathelicidin (LL-37), human β-defensin 2 (HbD-2) in the secretion of the upper respiratory tract by ELISA, and statistical analysis. Results. It was found that children with allergic diseases of the respiratory tract are characterized by a higher frequency of acute respiratory infections (30 %) with more frequent involvement of the lower respiratory tract in the inflammatory process (72 %), which causes a longer duration of disease (95 %) compared to healthy children. The children with allergic rhinitis and bronchial asthma had a significant decrease in the concentrations of antimicrobial peptides in the secretion of the upper respiratory tract compared with the control group. It was found that the level of antimicrobial peptide concentrations in the secretion of the upper respiratory tract is most negatively affected by the allergic inflammation severity, accompanied by a lack of symptom control, and the use of basic therapy and no symptoms have a positive effect. However, even in the presence of complete control of the symptoms of allergic diseases, the levels of antimicrobial peptides were significantly lower than in children of the control group. It was found that there is an inverse relationship between the levels of antimicrobial peptides and the frequency and duration of acute respiratory infections in children with allergic diseases, most pronounced in bronchial asthma. Conclusions. Taking a probiotic drug containing a strain of Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG for a month in addition to the basic therapy of allergic rhinitis and bronchial asthma contributed to a significant increase in levels of HbD-2 (average 27 %) and ­LL-37 (average 60 %) in secretions of the upper respiratory tract, which was accompanied by a decrease in the frequency of acute respiratory infections by an average of 26 % (including episodes involving the lower respiratory tract), a decrease in the average duration of acute respiratory infections by 22 % over the next year and a decrease in virus-induced exacerbations by 25.7 %. ; Актуальность. На сегодняшний день аллергические заболевания респираторного тракта, в частности бронхиальная астма и аллергический ринит, у детей являются актуальной медико-социальной проблемой, ассоциированной с высоким риском инвалидизации, существенным снижением качества жизни пациентов и их семей, а также значительной финансовой нагрузкой на пациентов и государство. Бронхиальная астма и аллергический ринит часто сосуществуют, обременяя течение друг друга. Дети, больные респираторными аллергическими заболеваниями, являются особенно уязвимыми к развитию острой респираторной вирусной инфекции (ОРВИ), а респираторные вирусы, в свою очередь, играют важную роль в патогенезе бронхиальной астмы и аллергического ринита, способствуя развитию заболеваний и выступая триггерами их обострений. Одной из возможных причин склонности к частым ОРВИ у детей с аллергической патологией дыхательной системы может быть недостаточность неспецифических факторов мукозального иммунитета респираторного тракта — эндогенных катионоактивных амфифильных антимикробных пептидов, в частности кателицидина (LL-37) и человеческих дефензинов. По данным ряда исследований, эти антимикробные пептиды проявляют противовирусное, антимикробное и иммуномодулирующее действие. При этом данных о состоянии продукции антимикробных пептидов и их влиянии на респираторную заболеваемость у детей с аллергическими заболеваниями в современной литературе недостаточно. В то же время в ряде литературных источников описано положительное влияние отдельных пробиотических штаммов, в частности Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG, на общую резистентность к респираторной вирусной инфекции и профилактику атопических заболеваний. Целью нашей работы стало изучение уровней антимикробных пептидов (человеческого β-дефензина 2 (HbD-2) и LL-37) в секрете слизистых оболочек верхних дыхательных путей у детей с бронхиальной астмой и аллергическим ринитом, выяснение их роли в защите от респираторной вирусной инфекции у данного контингента больных и оценка эффективности применения пробиотического препарата, содержащего Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG, с целью профилактики ОРВИ и снижения частоты вирус-индуцированных обострений аллергической патологии. Материалы и методы. Нами было проведено клинико-лабораторное обследование 76 детей в возрасте от 7 до 17 лет, из которых у 24 был диагностирован аллергический ринит, у 28 детей — бронхиальная астма, а у 24 — бронхиальная астма и аллергический ринит. Группу контроля составили 20 клинически здоровых детей соответствующего возраста и пола. Кроме общепринятых клинических, методы исследования включали анализ паттернов респираторной заболеваемости, определение уровней антимикробных пептидов LL-37, HbD-2 в секрете верхних дыхательных путей методами иммуноферментного и статистического анализа. Результаты. Установлено, что дети с аллергическими заболеваниями респираторного тракта характеризуются большей частотой ОРВИ (на 30 %) с более частым вовлечением в воспалительный процесс нижних дыхательных путей (на 72 %), что обусловливает более длительную продолжительность заболеваний (на 95 %) по сравнению со здоровыми детьми. У детей с аллергическим ринитом и бронхиальной астмой обнаружено существенное снижение уровней антимикробных пептидов в секрете верхних дыхательных путей по сравнению с группой контроля. На уровни антимикробных пептидов в секрете верхних дыхательных путей в наибольшей степени негативно влияет степень активности аллергического воспаления, сопровождающегося отсутствием контроля симптомов, а положительно — прием препаратов базисной терапии и отсутствие симптомов. Вместе с тем даже при наличии полного контроля симптомов аллергических заболеваний, то есть при минимальном уровне аллергического воспаления в дыхательных путях, уровни антимикробных пептидов были достоверно ниже, чем у детей контрольной группы. Установлено, что существует обратная связь между уровнями антимикробных пептидов и частотой и продолжительностью ОРВИ у детей с аллергическими заболеваниями, которая в наибольшей степени выражена при бронхиальной астме. Выводы. Прием пробиотического препарата, содержащего штамм Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG, в течение 1 месяца дополнительно к базисной терапии аллергического ринита и бронхиальной астмы способствовал достоверному повышению уровней HbD-2 (в среднем на 27 %) и LL-37 (в среднем на 60 %) в секрете верхних дыхательных путей, что сопровождалось снижением частоты ОРВИ в среднем на 26 % (в том числе и эпизодов с привлечением нижних дыхательных путей), уменьшением средней продолжительности ОРВИ на 22 % в течение следующего года и снижением вирус-индуцированных обострений на 25,7 %. ; Актуальність. На сьогодні алергічні захворювання респіраторного тракту, зокрема бронхіальна астма й алергічний риніт, у дітей є актуальною медико-соціальною проблемою, асоційованою з високим ризиком інвалідизації, суттєвим зниженням якості життя пацієнтів та їх сімей, а також значним фінансовим навантаженням на пацієнтів і державу. Бронхіальна астма й алергічний риніт часто співіснують, обтяжуючи перебіг одне одного. Діти, хворі на респіраторні алергічні захворювання, особливо вразливі до розвитку гострої респіраторної вірусної інфекції (ГРВІ), а респіраторні віруси, в свою чергу, відіграють важливу роль у патогенезі бронхіальної астми й алергічного риніту, сприяючи розвитку захворювань і виступаючи тригерами їх загострень. Однією з можливих причин схильності до частих ГРВІ у дітей з алергічною патологією респіраторної системи може бути недостатність неспецифічних факторів мукозального імунітету респіраторного тракту — ендогенних катіоноактивних амфіфільних антимікробних пептидів, зокрема кателіцидину (LL-37) та людських дефензинів. За даними низки досліджень, дані антимікробні пептиди проявляють противірусну, антимікробну та імуномодулюючу дію. При цьому даних щодо стану продукції антимікробних пептидів та їх впливу на респіраторну захворюваність у дітей з алергічними захворюваннями в сучасній літературі недостатньо. В той же час в низці літературних джерел описано позитивний вплив окремих пробіотичних штамів, зокрема Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG, на загальну резистентність до респіраторної вірусної інфекції та профілактику атопічних захворювань. Метою нашої роботи стало вивчення рівнів антимікробних пептидів (людського β-дефензину 2 (HbD-2) та LL-37) у секреті слизових оболонок верхніх дихальних шляхів у дітей з бронхіальною астмою й алергічним ринітом, з'ясування їх ролі у захисті від респіраторної вірусної інфекції у даного контингенту хворих та оцінка ефективності застосування пробіотичного препарату, що містить Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG, з метою профілактики ГРВІ та зниження частоти вірус-індукованих загострень алергічної патології. Матеріали та методи. Нами було проведено клініко-лабораторне обстеження 76 дітей віком від 7 до 17 років, з яких у 24 був діагностований алергічний риніт, у 28 дітей — бронхіальна астма, а у 24 — бронхіальна астма й алергічний риніт. Групу контролю становили 20 клінічно здорових дітей відповідного віку та статі. Окрім загальноклінічних, методи дослідження включали аналіз патернів респіраторної захворюваності, визначення рівнів антимікробних пептидів LL-37, HbD-2 у секреті верхніх дихальних шляхів методами імуноферментного та статистичного аналізу. Результати. Встановлено, що діти з алергічними захворюваннями респіраторного тракту характеризуються більшою частотою ГРВІ (на 30 %) з більш частим залученням у запальний процес нижніх дихальних шляхів (на 72 %), що обумовлює більшу тривалість захворювань (на 95 %) порівняно із здоровими дітьми. У дітей з алергічним ринітом і бронхіальною астмою виявлено суттєве зниження рівнів антимікробних пептидів у секреті верхніх дихальних шляхів порівняно з групою контролю. На рівні антимікробних пептидів у секреті верхніх дихальних шляхів найбільшою мірою негативно впливає ступінь активності алергічного запалення, що супроводжується відсутністю контролю симптомів, а позитивно — прийом препаратів базисної терапії та відсутність симптомів. Разом з тим навіть за наявності повного контролю симптомів алергічних захворювань, тобто при мінімальному рівні алергічного запалення в дихальних шляхах, рівні антимікробних пептидів були вірогідно нижчими, ніж у дітей контрольної групи. Встановлено, що існує зворотний зв'язок між рівнями антимікробних пептидів і частотою та тривалістю ГРВІ у дітей з алергічними захворюваннями, найбільш виражений при бронхіальній астмі. Висновки. Прийом пробіотичного препарату, що містить штам Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG, протягом 1 місяця додатково до базисної терапії алергічного риніту та бронхіальної астми сприяв вірогідному підвищенню рівнів HbD-2 (в середньому на 27 %) та LL-37 (в середньому на 60 %) у секреті верхніх дихальних шляхів, що супроводжувалось зниженням частоти ГРВІ в середньому на 26 % (в тому числі й епізодів із залученням нижніх дихальних шляхів), зменшенням середньої тривалості ГРВІ на 22 % протягом наступного року та зниженням вірус-індукованих загострень на 25,7 %.

[spa] La presente tesis doctoral se presenta como una investigación de Historia Contemporánea con raíces en la Ciencia Política. Su finalidad es comprender la identidad insular característica de las Illes Balears y de manera particular de Eivissa, ya que el tema identitario, además de cobrar relevancia en los tiempos presentes, es un concepto que ayuda a comprender la cultura política de las sociedades contemporáneas así como un elemento principal en el desarrollo del capital social de las mismas. En este sentido, el insularismo sería el concepto clave para comprender la identidad insular. Por ello se procederá a desarrollar diferentes consideraciones en torno a este concepto con el fin de hacer comprensible a cualquier residente del continente la carga simbólica de los ciudadanos de las Illes Balears. En el primer capítulo introductorio se expondrán los objetivos e hipótesis de la investigación, y en segundo capítulo se desarrollará la metodología empleada y se detallarán las fuentes estudiadas para explorar la identidad insular como característica propia del archipiélago balear. El tercer capítulo se dedicará a exponer el marco teórico y a reflexionar sobre las diferentes nociones que influyen en la conformación del concepto principal de este estudio. Le seguirá un desarrollo teórico necesario para comprender la identidad insular y todas las cargas simbólicas que se construyen en torno a dicho concepto y para abordar la relación existente entre la identidad insular y la cultura política. Esta relación explica en gran medida las relaciones existentes entre todos los elementos estudiados en esta investigación. Diferentes elementos que ayudan a explicar tanto la identidad insular predominante así como los efectos de esta identidad insular en el desarrollo político y social insular, dando así una justificación a la conexión entre todos los capítulos siguientes. El capítulo IV ofrecerá una visión macro a través del ejercicio comparado entre dos territorios insulares, el archipiélago canario y el balear, que puede ayudar a visualizar el desarrollo identitario y sus consecuencias. Servirá como referencia el estudio realizado por Eve Hepburn en el que analiza comparativamente distintas regiones insulares y sus demandas de autonomía, de soberanía o de independencia. Se utilizarán las variables que propone la autora y se estudiará el sistema de partidos balear 8 que, a diferencia del canario, carece de un partido de índole autonómico o archipielágico, lo que a posteriori se traduce en unas demandas insulares satisfechas o insatisfechas. Otra variable a destacar es el análisis de la «Linz-Moreno question», pregunta aplicada en las encuestas del CIS que suele medir el grado de identificación, nacionalismo o regionalismo y, en nuestro caso, de insularismo. Otras variables que se contemplarán en esta investigación serán los recursos económicos, las relaciones externas con el Estado y entidades supranacionales, el papel de Balears en la administración del Estado y factores asociados con el «islandness», destacando como aportación propia de este estudio la incorporación del índice del malapportionment como factor asociado al «islandness». En el capítulo V se realizará un análisis del Diario de Ibiza a partir de la teoría del nacionalismo banal de Michael Billig y del concepto de insularismo banal desarrollado teóricamente en el capítulo III. Concluirá la investigación con un análisis diacrónico del sistema político de Eivissa durante la II República aplicando una fórmula propia para poder determinar la participación absoluta en dicho periodo. En este sentido, el apartado se centra en el estudio del comportamiento electoral como un elemento clave en la cultura política. Se llevarán a cabo análisis comparados de la participación electoral a nivel estatal, autonómico e insular en los periodos mencionados, conjugando así una dimensión diacrónica y sincrónica. En el conjunt del treball s'aprecien les connexions entre un i un altre capítol com a fenòmens explicatius l'un de l'altre. ; [eng] This thesis investigates contemporary history using political science as a frame of reference. Its purpose is to understand the insular identity of the Balearic Islands, with a focus on the Island of Eivissa. This issue has gained relevance in present times since it helps understand the current political culture and the development of social capital in the Island. The thesis builds its theoretical backbone on the concept of insularism since this is a key concept in the understanding of the symbolic burden of the Balearic Islands citizenship. The first chapter introduces the objectives and hypotheses of the research project, and the second chapter shows the methodology and the sources utilized to explore the insular identity as an idiosyncratic characteristic of the Balearic Islands. The third chapter focuses on the theoretical framework and on the description and analysis of important notions that influence insular identity. This is followed by a description of the theoretical framework that is required to understand the concept of insular identity, its symbolic loading and on addressing the relationship between insular identity and political culture. This relationship largely explains the relationships between all the elements studied in this research. Different elements that help to explain both the predominant insular identity as well as the effects of this insular identity in the insular political and social development, thus giving a justification to the connection between all the following chapters. The fourth chapter offers a macro view through the comparative analysis of two island territories: The Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands. This exercise helps us visualize the development of identity and its consequences. The main reference for this analysis is the study carried out by Eve Hepburn in which she comparatively analyzes different island regions and their demands for autonomy and sovereignty. Our study utilizes the same variables as Hepburn, but in addition, it also studies the impact of an autonomous archipelago party, which the Balearic Islands have but the Canary Islands do not. We also analyze the «Linz-Moreno question», which is often included in CIS surveys, that usually measures the degree of identification, nationalism or regionalism and, in our case, insularism. Other variables that will be considered in this research will 12 be economic resources, external relations with the State and supranational entities, the role of the Balearic Islands in the administration of the State and factors associated with «islandness». As an important contribution, we link this latter factor to the «malapportionment» index. In chapter V, we use Michael Billing's theory of banal nationalism and concept of banal insularism to analyze the content of Diario de Ibiza, a local newspaper. We also perform a diachronic analysis of the political system of Eivissa during the Second Republic, focusing on the study of electoral behavior as a key element in political culture. We then conclude with a comparative analyzes of electoral participation at the state, regional and island levels in the aforementioned period, thus combining a diachronic and synchronic dimension. The thesis can be seen a collection of highly interlinked phenomena that both affect and get affected by each other.

Actual importance of research theme: Combating hunger and providing the Earth's population with sufficient amount of products is considered one of the strategic priorities of human civilization sustainable development by the UN up to 2030. The rapid growth of this planet's human population in the 21st century, estimated at 7.6. billion people, leads to the global demand for production and foodstuff. Simultaneously, traditional strategies of extensive development conventional in the 20th century and "target" intensification of agriculture do not take expected positive effect nowadays. World economy requires for new strategies of agricultural production, as well as promoting 'green revolution' based on the ground of IT technology advances and "Industry 4.0.". The generalization of world experience concerning development and implementing agricultural production strategies in the 21st century is of greater theoretical and practical importance for all countries which export agricultural production in mass scales, including Ukraine which focuses on the leadership in the world agricultural business. Thus, the urgency of the issue confirms the actual importance of this article. The problem statement. Foodstuff output in world economy is growing slowly and does not meet the increasing demand for food and agricultural products in industry in global scales. Under these conditions the manufacturers of agricultural products like farmers, agro-businesses and agro-holdings, as well as transnational corporation alter and modify agricultural strategies that were conventional in the 20th century. Among the new strategies transition to precision farming and innovational agriculture based on implementing IT technologies takes the leading role. The core and socio-economic consequences of such strategy implementation require further study. Analysis of latest studies and publication. The important contribution to the study of the core and dimensions of agricultural production strategies linked to innovation and investment development as well as to improvement property relations is made by such Ukrainian scholars as P. Makarenko, V. Pilyavskiy [1] and O. Shul'ga [2]. Foreign scientists like Smaller, C., andW. Speller, withH. Mirza, N. Bernasconi-Osterwalder, andG. Dixie [3] paid the specific attention to the study of strategic priorities concerning risks minimization and profit maximization by agro-businesses and TNC within the realization of agricultural contracts at world markets. Overseas researchers KeatingB., HerreroM., CarberryP. [4] emphasized on actual importance of compliance with strategy of foodstuff security in global environment in their studies. However, the issue of developing the strategy of precise agricultural production based on widespread use of innovation and IT technologies, research into socio-economic consequences accompanying their implementation in the 21st century remains poorly studied. Research challenge of general issue. The issue of studies the core and elements of agricultural production development process in world economy is highlighted in world economic literature pretty well. Nevertheless, the study of TNCs and agricultural businesses strategies and strategies concerning transition of TNCs to the development of precise agriculture is really meaningful. Besides, at present time the trends of direct foreign investments as for agricultural lands purchase and priorities analysis of their use by TNCs in developed and developing world countries are uncertain. Socio economic consequences of mass precise agriculture introduction for national economy in countries with agrarian specialization also require detailed researching. Problem statement, objective of research. The objective of research is to highlight the core and define the regularity of formation, as well as emphasize the basic expected socio-economic consequences of precise agriculture development strategy implementing on the grounds of generalization the world experience of agricultural TNC sactivity. To achieve the objective set the article aimed at solution the following tasks: to note the main 'players' at the world agricultural market and study the priorities of their economic activity; to study the core and the elements of 'green revolution' strategy, as well as strategy of transition to precise agricultural production based on implementing innovations and IT technologies; to define strategic goals of TNCs as for the use of acquiring land ( at the cost of direct foreign investments) on the grounds of generalization developed and developing countries experience; to point out the expected socio-economic consequences of mass implementation of precise agricultural production strategies by TNCs and national agro-businesses for the economy of the countries specialized in agriculture. Method and methodology of the study. While studying the world experience of implementation the precise agricultural production development strategies theoretical and empirical methods of scientific research were employed. Historical and logical methods, abstract and specific methods, methods of analysis and synthesis, as well as causal (cause-and-effect) method were applied in the article to define strategic priorities of agricultural business and agricultural TNC specialization, to point out expected socio-economic consequences of mass transition to precise agricultural production in the countries with agrarian specialization. Synergetic approach, method of expert estimates and casual methods were applied to ground "green revolution" strategy, as well as strategy of TNCs as for transition to precise agriculture based on innovations and IT technologies. The results of study. Agricultural production is presented by farmers, households, state agricultural sector, national agro-businesses and agro-holdings, international TNCs. As a rule, farms are focused on domestic market; they specialize in production of minor parties of manual crop production and horticulture, grow vegetables, fruit and berries, as well as they are engaged in poultry farming, beekeeping, dairy production, stockbreeding in rather small scales. The farmers in developed world countries, particularly EU countries, concentrate on organic production which is of high demand among middle-class representatives. In EU countries farming is traditionally supported by the state, as it bears both economic and social valuable functions, i.e. assists in rural development and creates workplaces in countryside. The main stakeholders at the mass agricultural market in the world are considered large national and international agro-holdings an TNCs specialized in agricultural production and its industrial processing. TNCs shaped the closed loop – from selection to agricultural production, from its processing to its manufacturing. At the cost of large production scales, as well as capital concentration and centralization it is the agricultural TNCs which leads in production and export of foodstuffs at world markets. TNCs ' leadership at world agriculture markets is grounded on 'green revolution' strategy implementing, which consists of such elements as innovations, bio-selection to produce performance breed, intensive growth in crop productivity, including the one using GMO which makes cropping insensitive to water shortage, high temperatures and droughts. Agrarian TNCs in the 21st century actively implement the strategies of transition to precise agriculture based on the use of innovations and IT technologies. As the world experience confirms, strategies of transition to precise agriculture combine the following innovations: astronaut and aviation technologies, unmanned technologies, unmanned aerial vehicles; mass transition to the use of apparatus to analyze the ground online; spreading of "agro-scouting" innovation technologies as for field information gathering concerning the condition and development of agriculture; implementation intellectual system of managerial decision-making support; introduction of monitoring and control auto-system and implementation of IT-system as for account of agriculture process elements. The development of precise agriculture for national world economies which are agriculture-based offers a lot of benefits, such as: increase in labor productivity in agriculture; the decrease in employment that saves working capital of agro-businesses; industrialization and technical renovation of agrarian sector which promotes the market for IT products, precise machine building; increase in commerce and export potential of the country, mainly, in the sphere of monostructural crop production (grain, corn, soya, raps, oilseeds etc.). Such strategies also provide revitalization of direct foreign investment processes by TNCsconcerning purchasing farmland in the developing countries with their further listing as raw materials supplier for TNCs. The latter shape and control international links of production value added to all kinds of agricultural products. Among the risks which implementation of precise agriculture strategies bear for national developing country's economy which are agriculture-based the following should be mentioned: risks concerning decrease in farms and decline in production of labor-intensive small-scale agriculture products (vegetables, fruit, honey etc.); risks of jobs recession and, respectively, the number of rural population and others. There are also other risks linked to these processes like risks of growing volumes of ready foodstuffs import, chronic scarcity of state budget and increase in internal debt, enhancing migration processes etc. In case of falling world prices for foodstuffs and worsening global conditions for agriculture products, including agrarian raw materials, in particular, due to another world economic crisis, the abandonment of occasional farmland purchased by TNCs in developing agrarian countries, their further freezing and ceasing the processing for better times should not be excluded. Under such circumstances the risks of famine for countries which could lose the managerial control over own land resources are also a threatening exercise as for implementing such TNC strategy. The field of results application. International economic relations and world economy, development of agriculture competitive strategies in world countries and agrarian TNCs in world economy. Conclusions. Farms, agro-businesses, agro-holdings and agrarian TNCs are the economic centres of mass agriculture production in all world countries. Farms are mainly specialized in labour-intensive small-scale agriculture production like horticulture, gardening, bee-keeping etc. Large agro-businesses and agrarian TNCs choose the strategy of specializing in mass monostructural agriculture production such as crop production (grain, corn, soya beans and industrial crops). In developed world countries TNCs apply the strategy of farmlands multi-purpose use, including the goals aimed at development and processing livestock and crop production; at development of renewable energy and bio-energy. In developed world countries TNCs focus on processing all kinds of agriculture products and foodstuffs production with high value added. Purchasing of farmlands by TNCs in developing countries, in particular, at the cost of direct foreign investment, provides for implementation the strategy of purchased lands engagement, mainly, to develop crop production as a raw basis for their further processing in the native countries for TNCs. The general world trend of agrarian TNCs development is use of innovation technologies, transition to precise agriculture based on IT technologies, aviation and astronautic technologies, unmanned aerial vehicles and other innovations which positively impact labor productivity and mass industrial production profitability, as well as choose transition to monostructural agrarian specialization as a priority, but bear a set of social risks for developing countries' economies. Transition of Ukrainian agro-businesses and agro-holdings to the strategy of precise agriculture development based on innovations and IT technologies provides Ukraine's competitiveness at the world agrarian markets. This process should go hand-in-hand with land reform taking into account Ukrainian farming interests. Establishing industrial processing of agriculture raw products and production of ready foodstuffs with high value added should be strategic for Ukraine.

Con excelentes conferencistas y una participación dinámica, se llevó a cabo el segundo panel del Foro Nacional Estudiantil de Economía y Finanzas, en el que se trataron temas bancarios dados la coyuntura de Covid-19. En la actualidad, el gobierno colombiano se ha centrado en aplanar la curva de contagios del Covid-19, sin embargo, esto ha ocasionado una baja de productividad, ingresos y liquidez dentro de las empresas. A partir de esto, el FNE, invitó a Andrés Albán, presiente de Colombia Fintech y CEO de Punto Red, Carlos Ernesto Lora, economista y socio de Giros y Finanzas, Camilo Pérez, Gerente de Investigaciones Económicas del Banco de Bogotá, y a Carlos Castro, profesor investigador, para tratar el tema a profundidad. En primer lugar, se habló de la responsabilidad del sector bancario en la recuperación de la economía frente a la reapertura del comercio y el consumo. Todos los conferencistas estuvieron de acuerdo en que, aunque la situación nos tomó a todos por sorpresa, la banca ha trabajado de manera adecuada, eficaz y prudente, ya que ha puesto diferentes mecanismos a la mano de empresas y clientes para poder seguir en funcionamiento. Además, afirmaron que el choque ha sido tan veloz que quienes no han recibido apoyo, no es porque no haya recursos, sino porque el tiempo ha sido muy corto para la cantidad de solicitudes. En resumen, según los panelistas, la banca se encuentra sólida, con problemas técnicos y operativos, pero con la capacidad de apoyo para la productividad del país a través del mejoramiento y el trabajo mancomunado entre las empresas de tecnología y la banca. Durante el panel, a los conferencistas también se les preguntó si era posible que llegara una crisis financiera que se uniera a la crisis sanitaria de la pandemia. En cuanto a esto, los conferencistas también concluyeron que dado a que las oficinas y establecimientos no cerramos por temas económicos, sino por las estrictas medidas de prevención del contagio como la cuarentena, no se puede hablar de una crisis financiera, ya que este no fue su origen. Agregaron, además, que se debe poner especial cuidado en la "cultura del no pago" que estamos teniendo, ya que muchas personas y entidades, aprovechando la pandemia y aún teniendo los recursos, se niegan a pagar. Esto se convierte en una cadena, y, por supuesto, afecta la economía. También se les preguntó sobre los principales retos que debe enfrentar la banca para mejorar la inclusión financiera durante y después de la pandemia. A esto, todos coincidieron en que existe mucho desconocimiento sobre la banca, como el uso de las páginas web y sus diferentes metodologías y servicios, y es justamente, el aprovechamiento de los canales digitales, lo que ayudará a superar la crisis, además de garantizar la construcción de relaciones con los clientes. Sin embargo, para nuestros expertos, para perder el miedo y lograr la digitalización bancaria, se requiere de apoyo gubernamental para campañas de conocimiento, y mejoramiento de infraestructura que faciliten el acceso a internet en todo el país, para que así, poco a poco se logre cambiar la mentalidad y el temor al sistema financiero. Finalmente, la conferencia terminó con una pregunta especial para cada uno de los panelistas que respondieron según su experiencia y área de conocimiento. Carlos Ernesto Lora, habló sobre las remesas que reciben los colombianos del exterior, y de cómo se verían afectadas por la recesión global. "Las remezas en Colombia y en países subdesarrollados son sumamente importantes, para el 2019 recibimos de 6.773 millones, un equivalente al 2.2% de nuestro PIB. Para el primer trimestre del 2020, ya habían decrecido un 15%, sin embargo, el Banco de la República había diagnosticado una baja del 40%, lo que evidencia que no se han visto muy afectadas", afirmó Lora. Camilo Pérez, se refirió a los sectores más afectados por la coyuntura y a los esquemas de financiación para los mismos. "Los servicios que no son de primera necesidad, como la recreación, el turismo y diversión. El comercio de vehículos, por ejempló, cayó en casi un 100%. Los restaurantes también se ven muy golpeados, principalmente por la cuarentena. Sin embargo, la pregunta es si la crisis de esos sectores se va a mantener, seguramente no, va a haber una recuperación, ya que la banca tiene grandes proyectos de apoyo, que dependerán también de cómo el gobierno permita que lleguen estos recursos para garantizar la sostenibilidad", concluyó Pérez. Carlos Castro, tocó el tema de la ley de borrón y cuanta nueva, y del impacto que esto puede tener en el sector financiero, sobre todo en aquellos que se benefician de los créditos en Colombia. "La motivación de la ley es trata de que, en últimas, no se castigue tanto el fracaso de las iniciativas empresariales, y de que la gente pueda, de alguna manera, reinventarse financieramente y generar otro proyecto. Muchas empresas fracasan o quiebran, y se quisiera que eso no fuera impedimento para seguir intentando. Aquí el tema, es encontrar información alternativa con la que se pueda tener información crediticia y así no afectar a la banca, es reinventar el score que conocemos actualmente", dijo Castro. Andrés Albán, habló sobre el papel de las Fintech, que a pesar de la crisis podrían verse menos afectadas. "Aquellos sectores que se centran en la tecnología u ofrecen una mayor digitalización, se verán beneficiadas en la medida de que las empresas empiecen a implementar sus servicios como pagos y metodologías digitales", finalizó Albán. Finally, the conference ended with a special question for each of the panelists who answered according to their experience and area of knowledge. Carlos Ernesto Lora, spoke about the remittances that Colombians receive from abroad, and how they would be affected by the global recession. The ways in which child soldiers are used in modern conflicts has become ever more sophisticated and prominent, with shifting capabilities and a focus on generational warfare, compared to when I faced them during my command of the UNAMIR mission in Rwanda twenty-six years ago. To confront this challenges, we need to keep our focus on the fact that the recruitment and use of children as weapons of war is the worst thing that we can do to children. We need to focus on the significance of bringing an end to the era of the expectation that children should participate in conflict. If we want to stop the use of warfare, we need to start developing a worldview where adults do not think that children should be involved in war. There needs to be no wavering in our view that use of child soldiers is the worst aspect of modern war. Children are a weapons system that have no place on the battlefield or in the world's security apparatus. How is it possible that we are prepared to let children be used as weapons when we are horrified by the use of biological and nuclear weapons?The Vancouver Principles are a critical part of meeting this challenge, and as we enter a new decade they are the culmination of the work of the international community that began in 1996 with Graça Machel's report on the impact of armed conflict on children. The VPs build on all the work that we have been doing at the Dallaire Initiative, and the work of the international community expressed in the Optional Protocol, the Paris Principles, Security Council Resolutions, and the initiatives to protect children and civilians. The VPs provide a higher level of strategic guidance that link all of these efforts to rally states to take action, and the immense amount of work that went into creating the Implementation Guidance is absolutely critical to this endeavour. It is one thing to set up the Principles, but another to turn them into practice guidance on how they can be carried out. We now need to shift our focus onto turning the guidelines into training guidelines and the development of new capabilities for our forces. With this in mind, the articles in this issue of Allons-y provide an important complement to the Principles and the Implementation Guidance, and will be of great use to policymakers, academics, and security sector actors working on this issue.In our work over the past several years, we have seen how hungry the security sector have been for something tangible to base their training on and upgrade and professionalize their forces on to confront the challenge posed by child soldiers. They see problem in peacekeeping of using force against children, and want to reduce casualties on their side and become more effective. With the Vancouver Principles we have taken the work of the Dallaire Initiative global, and we need to ensure that we use this tool effectively. To do so, we need to develop a central secretariat to help states take the Principles and the guidance and operationalize them into capabilities for their forces, and work with the UN to make sure that states have the required knowledge to do so. We also need to start thinking regionally to have more effective, coordinated, and rapid implementation of the Principles. The Dallaire Initiative has started this with our regional office for East Africa in Rwanda. Further work is needed to develop regional capabilities in Latin America, in the Middle East, and in South and East Asia. From our headquarters in Canada we can then assist with capacity building and strategy. With this direction, over the next decade we need to have this operational capability within every troop and police contributing country, and have every contingent going to UN missions qualified in this capability. This global engagement will aid in the reform and modernization of peacekeeping in order to end the use of children as weapons of war.In an era where human rights came to the fore in the 1970s through the 2000s, with our abilities to document, communicate about, and punish international crimes, it has not resonated enough with people that using children for adult work is wrong, and the use of child soldiers is the worst form of it. You cannot just look at a child as someone in need of food and education, but as a future adult. If we nurture children in war, then we normalize war for the future. It is illogical to want to prevent and end war without addressing the role that child soldiers can play in perpetuating conflict. In a practical sense, we have not been able to connect this in people's heads, only in the law. To eliminate a major instrument of war, we have to make the use of child soldiers unthinkable. ; Lgén (à la retraite) Roméo DallaireLa façon dont les enfants soldats sont utilisés dans les conflits modernes est devenue de plus en plus complexe et notable, avec ses capacités changeantes et son accent mis sur la guerre intergénérationnelle, par rapport à la situation dans laquelle je me trouvais lorsque je commandais la MINUAR au Rwanda il y a vingt-six ans. Pour faire face à ce défi, nous ne devons pas perdre de vue le fait que le recrutement et l'utilisation d'enfants comme armes de guerre sont la pire chose que nous puissions faire aux enfants. Nous devons nous concentrer sur l'importance de mettre un terme à l'époque où l'on attendait des enfants qu'ils participent aux conflits. Si nous voulons mettre fin au recours à la guerre, nous devons commencer à développer une vision du monde dans laquelle les adultes ne pensent pas que les enfants devraient être impliqués dans la guerre. Nous ne devons pas hésiter à dire qu'à notre avis, l'utilisation d'enfants soldats est le pire aspect de la guerre moderne. Les enfants sont un système d'armes qui n'a pas sa place sur le champ de bataille ou dans l'appareil de sécurité mondial. Comment se peut-il que nous soyons prêts à laisser des enfants être utilisés comme des armes alors que nous sommes horrifiés par le recours aux armes biologiques et nucléaires ?Les Principes de Vancouver sont un outil essentiel pour relever ce défi ; à l'aube d'une nouvelle décennie, ils sont le point culminant du travail de la communauté internationale qui a commencé en 1996 avec le rapport de Graça Machel sur l'impact des conflits armés sur les enfants. Les Principes de Vancouver s'appuient sur tout le travail que nous avons accompli dans le cadre de l'Initiative Dallaire, ainsi que sur le travail de la communauté internationale exprimé dans le Protocole facultatif, les Principes de Paris, les résolutions du Conseil de sécurité et les initiatives visant à protéger les enfants et les civils. Les Principes de Vancouver apportent un niveau supérieur d'orientation stratégique qui relie tous ces efforts pour rallier les États à l'action, et l'immense travail qui a été accompli pour créer les Lignes directrices de mise en œuvre est un aspect absolument essentiel de cette entreprise. C'est une chose que d'établir des principes, mais c'en est une autre que de les transformer en conseils pratiques sur la manière de les mettre en œuvre. Nous devons maintenant tourner notre attention vers la transformation de ces lignes directrices en directives de formation et vers le développement de nouvelles capacités pour nos forces. Dans cette optique, les articles de ce numéro d'Allons-y constituent un complément important aux Principes et aux Lignes directrices de mise en œuvre, et seront d'une grande utilité pour les responsables politiques, les universitaires et les intervenants du secteur de la sécurité qui travaillent sur cette question.Au cours de nos travaux de ces dernières années, nous avons pu constater à quel point le secteur de la sécurité avait besoin de quelque chose de tangible sur lequel fonder sa formation et sur lequel améliorer et professionnaliser ses forces pour faire face au défi posé par les enfants soldats. Ses intervenants considèrent que l'utilisation de la force contre les enfants pose problème dans le cadre du maintien de la paix, et souhaitent réduire le nombre de victimes de leur côté et devenir plus efficaces. Grâce aux Principes de Vancouver, nous avons mondialisé le travail de l'Initiative Dallaire, et il nous incombe de veiller à utiliser cet outil efficacement. Pour ce faire, nous devons mettre en place un secrétariat central pour aider les États à concrétiser les Principes et les lignes directrices en capacités pour leurs forces, et travailler avec les Nations Unies pour s'assurer que les États disposent des connaissances nécessaires pour ce faire. Nous devons également commencer à envisager les choses selon une perspective régionale afin d'obtenir une mise en œuvre plus efficace, coordonnée et rapide des Principes. L'Initiative Dallaire a lancé ce processus grâce à son bureau régional pour l'Afrique de l'Est au Rwanda. Des travaux supplémentaires sont nécessaires pour développer les capacités régionales en Amérique latine, au Moyen-Orient et en Asie du Sud et de l'Est. Depuis notre siège au Canada, nous pourrons alors contribuer au renforcement des capacités et aux stratégies. En ce sens, au cours de la prochaine décennie, nous devons disposer de cette capacité opérationnelle au sein de chaque pays contributeur en soldats et policiers, et faire en sorte que chaque contingent participant à des missions des Nations Unies soit qualifié à l'égard de cette capacité. Cet engagement mondial contribuera à la réforme et à la modernisation du maintien de la paix afin de mettre fin à l'utilisation des enfants comme armes de guerre.À une époque où les droits de l'homme sont passés au premier plan entre les années 1970 et 2000, par suite de nos capacités de documenter, de communiquer et de punir les crimes internationaux, les gens n'ont pas suffisamment compris que le recours à des enfants pour accomplir un travail d'adulte est une erreur, et que l'utilisation d'enfants soldats en est la pire forme. Vous ne pouvez pas simplement considérer un enfant comme quelqu'un qui a besoin de nourriture et d'instruction ; il faut également le voir comme un futur adulte. Si nous éduquons des enfants à la guerre, alors nous banalisons la guerre pour l'avenir. Il n'est pas logique de vouloir prévenir et faire cesser la guerre sans aborder le rôle que les enfants soldats peuvent jouer dans la perpétuation des conflits. Du point de vue pratique, nous n'avons pas été capables de faire ce lien dans la tête des gens, seulement dans la loi. Pour éliminer un instrument de guerre majeur, nous devons rendre l'utilisation des enfants soldats impensable.

Dieses Innovationsparadigma entwickelte sich erst im Laufe des letzten Jahrzehnts, ist heute auf deutscher und europäischer Ebene jedoch bereits prägend für die politische Steuerung des Innovationsgeschehens. Es gründet auf den heute gesteigerten Leistungsanforderungen an Forschung und Innovation, deren Güte sich nicht mehr alleine an Erkenntnisgewinn und Neuartigkeit bemisst, sondern zunehmend an ihrem weitreichenderen Nutzen. Forschung und Innovation sollen durch effektiven Wissens- und Technologietransfer die Wirtschaft stärken, mit disruptivem Potenzial und gleichsam auf verantwortliche Weise gesellschaftsrelevante Fragestellungen adressieren, transformativen Wandel anstoßen und damit zur Lösung der großen gesellschaftlichen Herausforderungen beitragen. Der Schlüssel, um all diesen Ansprüchen gerecht zu werden – darin stimmen politische Steuerungskonzepte und die Innovationsforschung überein –, heißt Kollaboration. Dem theoretischen Modell der Quadruple Helix folgend, sollen Akteure aus Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft, Politik und Gesellschaft im Zusammenspiel ihrer jeweiligen Stärken eine neue Qualität in Forschung und Innovation erzielen. In der Praxis bedeuten der Einbezug neuer Akteure in das Innovationsgeschehen und die Weiterentwicklung traditioneller organisationaler Innovationskonzepte hin zu einer kollaborativen Logik jedoch eine fundamentale Veränderung der Innovationsziele, der Innovationspraktiken und damit auch der Rolle jedes einzelnen Akteurs im Gefüge des Innovationssystems. Für diesen Transformationsprozess liefern weder der politische noch der wissenschaftliche Diskurs, die sich vor allem auf die Ebene des Innovationssystems beziehen, konkrete Ansatzpunkte, an denen sich die Akteure aus Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft, Politik und Gesellschaft orientieren können. Welche Rolle können und sollen Forschungseinrichtungen, Unternehmen, Start-ups, Ministerien oder Bürgerinnen und Bürger heute und zukünftig in den neuen, kollaborativen Innovationsprozessen einnehmen? An dieser Frage setzt die vorliegende Dissertation an. Ihr Ziel ist es, ein tiefgehendes Verständnis dafür zu schaffen, in welcher Weise die zahlreichen und heterogenen Akteure in kollaborativen Innovationsprozessen nach dem Modell der Quadruple Helix zusammenwirken. Dazu wird das kollaborative Innovationshandeln unter einer Geschäftsmodell-Perspektive betrachtet: Mittels einer qualitativen empirischen Analyse von 17 Quadruple-Helix-Netzwerken wird zum einen erforscht, in welcher Architektur aus funktionalen Rollen die 184 in den Netzwerken involvierten Akteure zusammenwirken, um einen Innovationsmehrwert im Sinne der eingangs dargestellten neuen Leistungsanforderungen zu erzielen. Zum anderen wird untersucht, welche Ertragsmodelle die einzelnen Akteure zur Übernahme ihrer jeweiligen Rolle incentivieren. Durch einen neuen, für diese Arbeit eigens entwickelten methodischen Ansatz der empirisch begründeten Typenbildung gelingt es erstmals, 25 typische Rollen und deren Ertragsmodelle zu beschreiben und damit aufzuzeigen, wie kollaborative Forschungs- und Innovationsprozesse auf Akteurs-Ebene funktionieren. Dies bildet den empirischen Kern der Dissertation. In drei daran anschließenden empirischen Studien wird das Verständnis bezüglich des Geschäftsmodells kollaborativer Innovation weiter vertieft: Mit einem Blick in unterschiedliche, auf Forschung und Entwicklung ausgerichtete Unternehmen und Forschungseinrichtungen untersucht die erste Studie, inwieweit das kollaborative Innovationsparadigma aus Innovationsforschung und Innovationspolitik bereits Eingang in die Innovationspraxis gefunden hat. Die Ergebnisse verdeutlichen, dass organisationale Logiken das Innovationshandeln in den untersuchten Unternehmen und Forschungseinrichtungen weiterhin prägen. Jedoch besteht ein deutliches Bewusstsein für die eingeschränkte Leistungsfähigkeit derartiger Innovationsprozesse sowie für die Mehrwerte kollaborativer Ansätze. Aus dem Bestreben, die Wettbewerbs- und Zukunftsfähigkeit der eigenen Organisation zu sichern, resultiert ein hohes Interesse – insbesondere der Unternehmen – an kollaborativer Innovation. Dieses Interesse mündet in der Praxis jedoch in ein Phänomen, welches in der Studie als neue lineare Innovationsprozesse bezeichnet und bezüglich seines Innovationsmehrwertes kritisch reflektiert wird. Die zweite Studie analysiert die Rolle der Gesellschaft als neustes der vier Teilsysteme der Quadruple Helix und beleuchtet vor allem das kontroverse Rollenverhältnis zwischen wissenschaftlichen Expertinnen und Experten und außerwissenschaftlichen, gesellschaftlichen Akteuren. Die Ergebnisse zeigen auf, dass das gesellschaftliche Bedürfnis nach Partizipation in Forschung und Innovation nicht als Wunsch nach deren Demokratisierung fehlinterpretiert werden sollte. Stattdessen erhoffen sich die befragten gesellschaftlichen Akteure den bidirektionalen Dialog mit Expertinnen und Experten aus Wissenschaft und Forschung über mögliche und wünschbare Zukünfte. Sich selbst sehen sie dabei in der Rolle eines "gesellschaftlichen Sensors". Die Studie trägt durch die Klärung der durch die Gesellschaft in kollaborativen Innovationsprozessen favorisierten Rolle dazu bei, Abwehrhaltungen gegen partizipative Ansätze – insbesondere auf Seiten der Wissenschaft – zu verringern. Mit einer Typologie von gesellschaftlichen Teilnehmenden kollaborativer Prozesse gibt sie darüber hinaus Hinweise zur Gestaltung geeigneter Ertragsmodelle für den Einbezug der Zivilgesellschaft in Forschung und Innovation. In der dritten Studie werden die Herausforderungen und Potenziale des neuen Innovationsparadigmas für Forschungseinrichtungen beleuchtet, die traditionell als zentraler Akteur des Forschungs- und Innovationsgeschehens fungierten. In der Analyse zeigt sich, dass sich Universitäten und Forschungsorganisationen bereits in unterschiedlichen Rollen in kollaborative Innovationsprozesse einbringen. Jedoch wird auch deutlich, dass heute heterogene Akteure des Innovationssystems Funktionen im Innovationsprozess übernehmen, die vormals alleine den Forschungseinrichtungen vorbehalten waren. In Konkurrenz mit außerwissenschaftlichen Wissensquellen wächst der Druck auf die etablierten Forschungseinrichtungen, ihr eigenes Geschäftsmodell für Forschung und Innovation weiterzuentwickeln und in kollaborativen Prozessen auch neue Rollen zu übernehmen. Die starre Logik des Wissenschaftssystems und das Fehlen für kollaborative Innovationsprozesse geeigneter Ertragsmodelle, die sich an den Relevanzen der Forschung orientieren, führen jedoch dazu, dass der Sprung von bilateralen Push- und Pull-Kooperationen zu Quadruple-Helix-Kollaborationen für Forschungseinrichtungen eine große Herausforderung darstellt. Die Ergebnisse der Untersuchung verweisen auf mögliche neue Rollen für Universitäten und Forschungsorganisationen, deren künftige Übernahme ein Potenzial für die Qualität kollaborativer Innovation und die Leistungsfähigkeit des Innovationssystems darstellt. Durch ihren hohen empirischen Gehalt schafft die vorliegende Arbeit ein Verständnis für das Geschäftsmodell kollaborativer Forschung und Innovation und liefert Erkenntnisse über die Akteurs-Ebene der Quadruple Helix, die deutlich über bisherige wissenschaftliche Arbeiten hinausgehen. Die Analyse und Beschreibung des Zusammenspiels heterogener Rollen veranschaulicht die Funktionsweise kollaborativer Innovationsprozesse und weist gleichzeitig auf deren Herausforderungen hin. Damit leistet die vorliegende Dissertation einen entscheidenden Beitrag, um das theoretische Quadruple-Helix-Modell zu einem empirischen Modell weiterzuentwickeln. Aus den empirischen Ergebnissen werden Implikationen für Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft, Politik und Gesellschaft abgeleitet, die aufzeigen, wie eine kollaborative Geschäftsmodell-Logik zukünftig nicht nur theoretisch, sondern praktisch im deutschen Innovationssystem verankert werden kann. Mit einem wissenschaftlich fundierten Tool zur Analyse und Gestaltung von Innovationsnetzwerken, wird die Innovationspraxis darin unterstützt, ihrem kollaborativen Innovationshandeln zukünftig eine reflektierte Geschäftsmodell-Logik zugrunde zu legen und alle relevanten Potenziale des Innovationssystems auszuschöpfen. ; An effective, internationally competitive innovation system depends on novel innovation processes through which academic research, business, government and society combine their respective perspectives, expertise and resources in the joint development of solutions that would not have come about otherwise. Despite only having arisen in the course of the past decade, this innovation paradigm is already shaping not only German but also European innovation policy. This is in keeping with the increased demands placed on research and innovation, the value of which is no longer measured purely in terms of knowledge gain and technological novelty, but rather in terms of broader impact. Research and innovation are expected to strengthen the economy through effective knowledge and technology transfer, to harness disruptive potential in addressing socially relevant issues while doing so responsibly, and to instigate transformative change, thus helping to solve major societal challenges. The key to meeting all of these demands – and here research policy and innovation research are in agreement – is collaboration. In accordance with the theoretical Quadruple Helix model, the interplay of the respective strengths of academic, business, government and societal actors should improve the overall quality of research and innovation. In practice, the involvement of new actors and the move away from traditional organisation-centric approaches towards a collaborative understanding of innovation entail certain fundamental changes – to the goals of innovation, to the ways innovation is realised in practice, and to the roles of individual actors within the innovation system. Yet when it comes to this transformation process, specific practical guidance for academic, business, government and societal actors is conspicuously absent from policy and academic discourse, both of which primarily deal with innovation systems at the macro level. In these new, collaborative innovation processes, what roles can and should be taken up by research institutions, start-ups and other companies, government departments and members of the public, both now and in the future? This question forms the starting point of this dissertation, which aims to establish a deeper understanding of the ways in which the numerous heterogeneous actors involved in collaborative innovation processes cooperate in accordance with the Quadruple Helix model. To this end, collaborative innovation practices are examined from a business model perspective. A qualitative empirical analysis of 17 Quadruple Helix networks is used to identify the architecture of functional roles via which the 184 involved actors aim to meet the aforementioned current demands placed on innovation, as well as the profit models that incentivise individual actors to take up their respective roles. A new method of empirically grounded typology construction, specially developed for this project, makes it possible to describe 25 typical roles and their accompanying profit models, and thus to demonstrate for the first time how collaborative research and innovation processes function on actor level. This forms the empirical core of the dissertation. Three subsequent empirical studies provide an even deeper understanding of the business model underlying collaborative innovation. Looking at various research and development-oriented companies and research institutions, the first study examines the extent to which the collaborative innovation paradigm has made its way from innovation research and policy into innovation practice. The findings clearly show that within the investigated companies and research institutions, innovation processes are still shaped by organisation-centric principles. At the same time, there is a marked awareness of the limited efficacy of such innovation processes, and of the value that can instead be created via collaborative approaches. Respondents' desire to ensure the competitiveness and future viability of their respective organisations can be seen to result in a pronounced interest in collaborative innovation, especially on the part of the companies that form part of the study. Nonetheless, in practice this has given rise to what can be called new linear innovation processes, which are likely to be of limited benefit with respect to the creation of new value within innovation. The second study analyses the role of society as the newest of the four subsystems of the Quadruple Helix, looking in particular at the controversial distribution of roles between experts from the academic sector on the one hand, and non-specialist societal actors on the other. The findings indicate that the societal sector's desire to participate in research and innovation should not be misinterpreted as a wish for these processes to be democratised. Instead, the societal actors who took part in the study express an interest in bidirectional dialogue regarding possible and desirable futures with experts from the field of academic research. In this kind of exchange, they see their own role as that of "societal sensor", reflecting and giving voice to society's needs and ethical concerns with respect to innovation. In thus clarifying the preferred role of societal actors in collaborative innovation processes, this study should help diminish resistance to participatory approaches, especially on the part of academic actors. Moreover, the resultant typology of societal participants in collaborative processes can aid in the creation of appropriate profit models for the inclusion of civil society in research and innovation. In the third study, the focus falls on challenges and opportunities the above-mentioned new innovation paradigm holds for research institutions, which have traditionally occupied a central position in research and innovation. The analysis reveals that universities and research organisations have been contributing to collaborative innovation processes in a variety of roles. At the same time it becomes clear that current innovation systems see a range of heterogeneous actors performing functions that were previously the exclusive domain of research institutions. Given that they are now competing with sources of knowledge from outside the academic sector, established research institutions find themselves under increasing pressure to rethink their research and innovation business models and to take up new roles in collaborative processes. However, due to the rigid nature of the academic system and a lack of suitable incentive models for collaboration that take the realities of said system into account, the leap from bilateral push-pull cooperation to Quadruple Helix-collaboration poses a significant challenge for research institutions. Nonetheless, the study's findings point towards potential new roles through which universities and research organisations could in future contribute to improved collaborative innovation, and thus to the establishment of a more effective innovation system. Thanks to its extensive empirical basis, this dissertation is able to construct an understanding of the business model underlying collaborative research and innovation, and to attain insights into Quadruple Helix systems at actor level that far exceed the state of research on the topic. The presented analysis and description of the interplay between heterogeneous roles illustrate how collaborative innovation processes function, while simultaneously highlighting the challenges these processes entail – thus constituting an important contribution towards further development of the theoretical Quadruple Helix model into an empirical model. The implications of the empirical findings for academic research, business, government and society show how in future, collaborative innovation strategies can be not only theoretically but above all practically embedded in the German innovation system. Lastly, the scientifically sound tool for analysing and shaping innovation networks presented herein can aid the establishment of well-founded business model principles to govern future collaborative innovation processes, which would in turn make it possible to harness the full potential of the innovation system.

ABSTRAK Penelitian yang dilakukan ini bertujuan untuk menguji dan menganalisis pengaruh tenaga kerja dan investasi terhadap PDRB Industri Pengolahan di Pulau Jawa Tahun 2011-2017. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data sekunder dengan periode observasi 2011-2017 yang diperoleh dari Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) maupun publikasi lainnya yang terkait. Teknik metode analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah regresi berganda data panel dengan model regresi Fixed Effetc Cross-Section Weight. Data diolah menggunakan Eviews 9.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tenaga kerja berpengaruh positif tetapi tidak signifikan terhadap PDRB industri pengolaan dengan koefisien 0,048110 dan nilai probabilitas sebesar 0,7183. Investasi PMA berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap PDRB Industri Pengolahan dengan koefisien sebesar 0,104161 dan nilai probabilitas uji t statistik sebesar 0,0000 atau lebih kecil dari taraf signifikan 5% atau sebesar 0,05. Investasi PMDN berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap PDRB Industri Pengolahan dengan koefisien sebesar 0,052172 dan nilai probabilitas sebesar 0,0018. Tenaga kerja dan investasi secara bersama-sama berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kemiskinan dengan nilai F statistik 4508.827 dan Prob (F-statistic) 0,000000. Sektor tersebut dipandang sebagai sektor yang memiliki tingkat produktivitas tinggi, sehingga keunggulannya akan diperoleh nilai tambah yang tinggi. Oleh karena itu, tujuan menciptakan kesejahteraan ekonomi masyarakat dapat lebih cepat direalisasikan dengan mengembangkan sektor ini. Pulau Jawa memiliki nilai kontribusi yang besar dalam perekonomian nasional yang sebagian besar kontribusinya pada PDRB Industri Pengolahan. Disamping itu, karena perannya yang sangat penting dalam perekonomian, PDRB Industri pengolahan dipengaruhi oleh tenaga kerja sektor industri dan investasi PMA dan PMDN di sektor industri. Semakin bertambah besar lapangan kerja yang tersedia maka akan menyebabkan semakin meningkatnya pertumbuhan ekonomi di suatu daerah. Sedangkan dengan adanya investasi maka kapasitas dalam produksi akan meningkat yang kemudian akan mempengaruhi output yang dihasilkan. Meningkatnya output akan menyebabkan peningkatan pada PDRB. Akan tetapi, tenaga kerja dan investasi selalu mengalami fluktasi yang naik turun. Maka dari itu, penelitian ini untuk melihat apakah tenaga kerja sektor industri dan investasi PMA/PMDN sektor industri berpengaruh terhadap terbentuknya PDRB industri pengolahan.2. Selain itu uji determinasi (R2) menunjukkan bahwa 99,90% variabel bebas (tenaga kerja sektor industri, investasi PMA dan PMDN di sektor industri) mempengaruhi variabel terikat (PDRB industri pengolahan), sisanya dipengaruhi oleh variabel diluar variabel bebas.RekomendasiMengingat peran PDRB industri pengolahan yang memiliki kontribusi yang besar terhadap perekonomian yang dipengaruhi oleh tenaga kerja sektor industri dan investasi PMA dan PMDN di sektor industri. Pemerintah dan pengusaha diharapkan dapat mendorong terus adanya perbaikan kondisi pekerja dan lingkungannya, sehingga tingkat upah dan produktivitas diharapkan tumbuh selaras dan dapat memperbaiki kondisi kesejahteraan pekerja di Pulau Jawa. I løbet af det seneste årti er man begyndt at erkende, at mikroplast (plastpartikler <5 mm) på globalt plan er allestedsnærværende i både hav- og ferskvandsmiljø. Som konsekvens af den lille størrelse kan mikroplast potentielt påvirke en lang række vandlevende organismer. Selvom antallet af studier omhandlende effekter af mikroplast er stærkt stigende, er forståelsen af processerne, hvormed organismer interagerer med mikroplast og de medfølgende indvirkninger på økosystemer, stadigvæk begrænset. Der er yderligere usikkerhed omkring mikroplastens kemiske sammensætning og dens potentielle rolle som vektor for kemikalier til organismer. På det seneste er der rejst opmærksomhed om den humane eksponering for mikroplast og mulige resulterende helbredseffekter – et emne hvor videnskaben stadig er i sin vorden. I den sammenhæng er målene med denne afhandling: 1) At vurdere og anvende kontrollerede laboratorieforsøg til at analysere optag og effekter af mikroplast i hvirvelløse dyr i både hav- og ferksvandsmiljøer. 2) At undersøge interaktioner mellem plastpartikler og hydrofobe organiske kemikalier. 3) At gennemgå den aktuelle debat og tilgængelige viden indenfor human mikroplasteksponering og mulige humane effekter af denne. De fleste undersøgelser af mikroplasts effekt på hvirvelløse dyr har været med fokus på effekter som følge af indtagelse. For at forstå og fortolke den slags effekter, er det vigtigt at kvantificere indtagelsen og udskillelsen af mikroplast, da disse processer er bestemmende for den overordnede eksponering. I denne afhandling påvises det, at fluorescerende partikler kan bruges til at kvantificere processerne, særligt når partiklerne er i størrelsesordenen af nanometer og få mikrometer. For en pålidelig kvantificering er det ofte nødvendigt at opløse dyrevæv. Baseret på anvendelse og udvikling af forskellige enzymatiske protokoller i denne afhandling, anbefales det at anvende enzymer til at opløse vævet. Enzymatisk opløsning og kvantificering af partikelfluorescens blev anvendt til at måle indtagelse og udskillelse af 100 nm og 2 µm partikler i vandloppen Daphnia magna og blåmuslingelarver (Mytilus edulis). For begge arter blev det påvist, at partikler med en størrelse svarende til dyrenes normale bytte blev optaget i en større grad end mindre partikler. Med hensyn til udskillelse fandtes flere artsspecifikke forskelle. Denne proces kan påvirkes markant af partikelstørrelsen og tilstedeværelsen af føde. Desuden kan partiklerne blive i organismen i længere tid end den tid, det normalt tager at passere gennem tarmsystemet. I både D. magna og larver af M. edulis havde de mindre partikler større negative effekter på dyrenes fysiologi. Kontrollerede laboratorieforsøg, som anvendt i denne afhandling, kan forbedre den mekanistiske forståelse af organisme-partikel interaktionen og derved højne pålideligheden og øge sammenligneligheden mellem studier. En detaljeret karakterisering af partiklerne og eksponeringen mangler dog ofte og dermed mangler også en tilstrækkelig forståelse af partiklernes egenskaber og skæbne i det givne forsøg. På grundlag af erfaringer gjort i forbindelse med nanomaterialer anbefales det, at man også analyserer mikroplastpartiklers størrelse, sammensætning, massefylde, overfladekemi og elektriske ladning såvel som undersøger for mulig partikelaggregering, dispersion og sedimentation. Samtidig er det vigtigt, at eksponeringssystemer har en højere grad af miljørealisme. Det kan opnås ved at bruge lavere partikelkoncentrationer, flere forskellige partikelformer (især fragmenter og fibre), flere forskellige plastpolymere, partikler med biofilm og inkludere kontroller med naturlige partikler såsom ler og silikat. Mikroplast kan ikke altid behandles som inerte partikler, for de kan indeholde mange forskellige kemikalier, som enten stammer fra plastproduktionen, eller er absorberet til plasten fra det omgivende miljø. I begge tilfælde kan kemikalierne transporteres og afgives, og på den måde kan mikroplast måske være en vektor for eksponering af vanddyr til hydrofobe organiske kemikalier. Derfor anbefales det på det kraftigste at inkludere undersøgelser af mikroplastpartiklernes potentielle kemiske toksicitet, når der udføres effektstudier af mikroplast. Som vist i denne afhandling, er sorption af hydrofobe organiske kemikalier til plast styret af diffusionsprocesser og kan optræde som absorption, adsorption eller en kombination af begge. Processen er afhængig af plastpartiklernes egenskaber, de hydrofobe kemikalier og det omgivende miljø. I naturlige matricer som havvand, opløst organisk kulstof og kolloider kan mikroplastens rolle som vektor muligvis være forsvindende lille (i særdeleshed på global skala). I denne afhandling understreges det dog, at rumlig variation på lokal skala samt eksponering af mikroplast-associerede kemikalier til organismer nødvendigvis må adresseres. I de sidste år har der været et øget fokus på human eksponering og de mulige resulterende helbredseffekter. Bekymringen blev primært vakt på grund af fund af plastpartikler i vanddyr, som bruges til mad, og andre fødevarer. Der er grund til at antage, at mikroplast kan have partikel- eller kemikalier-relateret toksicitet, men ingen studier har endnu undersøgt helbredseffekter relateret til indtagelsen af mikroplast. Mennesker er eksponeret til mikoplast og associerede kemikalier fra en række forskellige kilder og selvom forurenede fødevarer har fået mest opmærksomhed, argumenteres der i denne afhandling for, at den største eksponering kommer fra brug af plastmaterialer i hverdagen. På grund af mange usikkerheder og manglende viden er det ikke muligt endnu at konkludere i hvilken udstrækning mikoplast udgør en trussel for miljø og mennesker. Der er i dag en stærk folkestemning imod plastforurening i miljøet, som fremmer handlinger i samfund og lovgivning. Processen går hurtigere end konsensus i det videnskabelige miljø og dermed er der en risiko for, at fokus ikke er rettet mod mest pressende emner set fra et videnskabeligt synspunkt og der derved ikke bliver taget de mest effektive skridt for at begrænse plastforureningen i miljøet. ; Within the past decade, it has been widely recognised that microplastics (commonly referred to as plastic particles <5 mm) are ubiquitous in freshwater as well as in marine environments globally. Owing to their small size, microplastics can interact with and potentially affect a wide range of aquatic organisms. Although the number of studies on microplastic effects is quickly increasing, there is still limited understanding of the processes by which organisms interact with microplastics as well as impacts in natural ecosystems. Further uncertainties relate to the chemical nature of microplastics and their potential role as vectors for chemical pollutants to organisms. More recently, questions have been raised about human exposure to microplastics and potential health effects – a topic where science still is at the very start of providing answers. In this context, the aims of this thesis are: 1) To critically evaluate and use controlled laboratory experiments for analysing uptake and effects of microplastics in aquatic invertebrates. 2) To examine the interaction between plastic particles and hydrophobic organic chemicals. 3) To review the current debate and state of knowledge on microplastic exposure and potential effects on humans. Most effects of microplastics on aquatic invertebrates have been studied as a result of particle ingestion. In order to understand and interpret such effects, it is important to quantify ingestion and egestion of microplastics, as this determines the overall exposure that an organism is facing. In this thesis, it is shown that fluorescent particles can be used to quantify these processes. This is especially useful for particles in the nano- and small micrometre size range. To achieve a reliable quantification, it is often necessary to digest animal tissue. Enzymes are recommended for digestion, based on the use and development of different enzymatic protocols within this thesis. Enzymatic digestion and quantification of particle fluorescence were successfully applied to measure ingestion and egestion of 100 nm and 2 µm particles in the water flea Daphnia magna and larvae of the blue mussel Mytilus edulis. For both species, it was found that, on a mass basis, a higher amount of particles which are similar to the size of normal prey were ingested than smaller particles. Regarding particle egestion, more species-specific differences were observed in comparison to ingestion. It was found that egestion can strongly be influenced by particle size and the presence of food. Also, particles have the potential to remain in organisms for a time exceeding the normal gut passage time. Both for D. magna and larvae of M. edulis the smaller particles were found to cause more adverse effects on the animals' physiology. Controlled laboratory tests, as employed in this thesis, can be a useful tool to obtain a mechanistic understanding of organism-particle interactions and increase the reliability of and comparability between studies. It was, however, found that a detailed particle and exposure characterisation is often missing and thus particle behaviour and fate in laboratory exposure systems are not well understood. Drawing on experience and developments within the field of engineered nanomaterials, it is therefore recommended to include analyses of particle size, composition, density, surface chemistry and charge, as well as particle aggregation/agglomeration, dispersion and sedimentation. At the same time, it is important that exposure systems attain a higher degree of environmental realism. To achieve this, it is suggested to use lower particle concentrations, a variety of particle shapes (especially fragments and fibres), a variety of different plastic polymers, biofouled particles, and to include controls with natural particles, such as clay or silica. Moreover, microplastics cannot always be treated as inert particles since they may contain a multitude of different chemicals, either stemming from plastic production or having sorbed to the plastics in the environment. In both cases, chemicals have the potential to get transported and released, and in this way microplastics may act as vectors for hydrophobic organic chemicals (HOCs) to aquatic animals. It is therefore strongly recommended to include controls for potential chemical toxicity in microplastic effect studies. As reviewed in this thesis, sorption of HOCs to plastics is governed by diffusive mass transfer and occurs as either adsorption, absorption or a combination of both. The process strongly depends on the properties of the plastic particle, the chemical and the surrounding environment. In comparison to natural matrices, such as water, dissolved organic carbon and colloids, the role of plastics as a vector may be negligible on a global scale. However, in this thesis it is emphasised that spatial variation on a smaller scale as well as the exposure route of microplastic-associated chemicals to organisms are important to consider. In recent years, there has been an increasing focus on human exposure to and potential health effects of microplastics. This was mainly sparked by findings of plastic particles in aquatic species used for human consumption as well as other food products, and has evoked many concerns. While there is reason to assume that microplastics can exhibit particle- and/or chemical-related toxicity, no studies have investigated human health effects of consuming microplastics to date. Humans are exposed to plastic particles and associated chemicals by a variety of pathways. Even though contaminated food products have received most attention, in this thesis it is argued that the main exposure is most likely related to abrasion of particles from the use of plastic materials in everyday life. Because of many uncertainties and knowledge gaps, it is to date not possible to conclude to what degree microplastics are a threat to the environment and to humans. However, a strong public opinion against environmental plastic pollution has formed, which drives societal and legislative action. This is moving faster than consensus within the scientific community and thus entails the risk that not the most urgent issues are addressed or the most effective measures to reduce environmental plastic pollution are taken.

Tese de doutoramento em Sistemas de Transporte, apresentada ao Departamento de Engenharia Civil da Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade de Coimbra ; Public transit systems are not only essential for urban mobility but are also advantageous from the fuel consumption, pollutant emissions and traffic congestion standpoints. In addition to this, transit also provides an alternative with acceptable levels of mobility to people who cannot own or drive a car. In fact, the main goal of having a transit system is to offer good quality service, where users travel easily at a low fare while reducing pollution and traffic congestion. This goal often results in serious financial problems for the transit operators, as their revenues are rarely enough to cover their expenses, requiring subsidies funded by local governments. In this context, we propose the integration of transit and parking systems as an option to decrease the subsidies of transit systems. This integration is developed considering two different views. A physical integration of the two systems; and an integration through prices (transit fares and parking fees), where two different standpoints are considered. One that assumes a regulated market, where the parking operator revenues will be used to fund the transit operator deficits; and another that assumes a fully deregulated market, where both transit operators and parking operators have a profit maximization goal. The physical integration of the two systems was illustrated through an optimization-based study carried out for Coimbra (Portugal), with the goal of selecting the best locations for park-and-ride facilities so that car use inside the city is minimized. Park-and-ride facilities are parking lots located in the periphery of cities to intercept car trips coming from the suburbs, and divert them to transit. In this study, the transport mode choices were assumed to be dependent on the generalized travel costs of car, transit and park-and-ride according to a logit function. The main result was that the introduction of a park-and-ride network could reduce car use in Coimbra's city center by 19%. The integration of transit and parking systems through prices in a regulated market was approached with an optimization model, where transit and parking are managed together to minimize the joint deficit of the respective operators, considering transit fares and parking fees as decision variables. The context of application of this model is a city divided into zones, where trips between each pair of zones can be made either by car or by bus, or not made if (generalized) travel costs are considered too high by the traveler. Modal choice in the city is described by a logit model of the generalized travel costs of both modes. In the case of car, these costs consist of vehicle depreciation, fuel, maintenance, travel time and parking fees, while time costs, discomfort costs and transit fares are the costs included in the transit generalized travel cost. This model was applied to a case study in Coimbra, where both transit and parking systems become clearly profitable due to a substantial increase of prices. However, the relationship between demand and speed is not addressed in this model, as it is assumed that speed values remain unchanged even when modal choices change. This shortcoming was handled by embedding on the optimization model a network level aggregate traffic model based on the macroscopic fundamental diagram (MFD), which determines the speeds and cruising-for-parking costs considering car travel demand. Due to the complexity of the optimization model, a solution method based on a traffic-equilibrium algorithm and a greedy algorithm was developed. Through the application of a case study inspired by the city of Coimbra, it was possible to verify that the joint operating deficits were decreased, leading to a profitable transit system. An alternative SA algorithm was also developed in view of its future application to solve the previous model. If properly designed, algorithms of this type show good global optimum convergence properties. Otherwise, the quality of the best solution they return may be low or the computation time they require may be excessively long. The reason for this to happen may be because SA algorithms spend too much effort evaluating poor quality solutions. To avoid this, we hybridize a cross-entropy algorithm with a SA algorithm, in order to decrease the probability that a low-quality candidate solution is selected in each iteration. The results of a computational study developed for a facility location problem indicate that the hybrid algorithm clearly improves the classic SA algorithm. The integration of transit and parking systems under a deregulated market was handled through a two-stage game-theoretic approach, assuming transit and parking operator as profit maximizers. The first stage decisions are parking capacity, transit frequencies and fleet size, whereas pricing decisions are made in the second stage, assuming the first-stage decisions known and fixed. The concept of subgame-perfect pure strategy Nash equilibrium was used to solve this game. By analyzing several hypothetical case studies (inspired by real-world situations), it was shown how the decisions of the operators are expected to interact. In general, the proposed models and their applications contribute what we believe to be a significant addition to the literature. These integrated transit-parking planning models provide a better understanding of how park-and-ride networks and pricing schemes affect the city's mobility dynamics and modal choices, and insight into the impact of the decisions of transit and parking operators on their financial performance. ; Os sistemas de transportes públicos são não só essenciais à mobilidade urbana, mas também vantajosos em relação ao automóvel quanto ao consumo de combustível, emissão de poluentes e congestionamento do tráfego. Adicionalmente, os transportes públicos são uma opção que garante níveis aceitáveis de mobilidade a quem não conduz ou não tem automóvel. De facto, o principal objetivo de um sistema de transportes públicos é providenciar um serviço de qualidade através do qual os seus utilizadores possam viajar a custo relativamente baixo e, simultaneamente, contribuir para a diminuição da poluição e do congestionamento. A prossecução deste objetivo origina geralmente sérios problemas financeiros para os operadores de transportes públicos, uma vez que as receitas não são, em regra, suficientes para cobrir os custos do sistema, o que requer a subsidiação por entidades públicas. É neste contexto que analisamos a integração de sistemas de transportes públicos e de estacionamento como uma possibilidade para diminuir os subsídios dos transportes públicos. Esta integração dos dois sistemas é estudada de duas perspetivas distintas – integração física e integração através dos preços (dos bilhetes de transporte público e de tarifas de estacionamento) – e segundo dois pontos de vista diferentes: um que assume um mercado regulado, no qual as receitas do estacionamento são utilizadas para financiar os défices dos transportes públicos; e outro que assume um mercado totalmente desregulado, em que tanto o operador de transportes públicos como o operador do estacionamento têm como objetivo a maximização do lucro. A integração física dos dois sistemas é analisada tendo por referência um estudo de otimização desenvolvido para Coimbra (Portugal), com o objetivo de selecionar localizações para estacionamentos park-and-ride que minimizem a utilização de automóveis no centro das cidades. Os estacionamentos park-and-ride localizam-se na periferia das cidades com o objetivo de intercetar as viagens de automóvel que vêm dos subúrbios. Neste estudo, assume-se que as escolhas modais dependem dos custos generalizados de viagem por automóvel, por transportes públicos ou pelos dois modos através de um parque de estacionamento periférico, de acordo com uma função logit. O principal resultado que obtivemos com a introdução de estacionamentos park-and-ride foi a redução do uso do automóvel no centro de Coimbra em 19%. A integração de transportes públicos e estacionamento através de preços num mercado regulado foi analisada com base em um modelo de otimização no qual os transportes públicos e o estacionamento são geridos em conjunto, a fim de diminuir o seu défice global, considerando os preços dos bilhetes e as tarifas de estacionamento como variáveis de decisão. O contexto para a aplicação deste modelo é uma cidade dividida em zonas, onde as viagens correspondentes a cada par origem-destino podem ser feitas ou de automóvel ou de transportes públicos, ou não ser realizadas caso o seu custo generalizado seja considerado muito elevado. A escolha do modo de transportes é descrita por um modelo logit dos custos generalizados dos vários modos. No caso do automóvel, estes custos contemplam a depreciação do veículo, o combustível, a manutenção, o tempo de viagem e a tarifa de estacionamento, enquanto o tempo de viagem, o desconforto e o preço do bilhete são contabilizados nos custos generalizados de uma viagem em transportes públicos. Este modelo foi aplicado ao estudo de caso de Coimbra, concluindo-se que ambos os sistemas se poderiam tornar bastante lucrativos como resultado de um aumento substancial de preços. Contudo, a relação entre volumes de tráfego e velocidades de circulação não foi tratada de forma apropriada neste modelo, pois que se considerou que aquelas velocidades permaneceriam constantes independentemente das escolhas modais. Esta lacuna foi ultrapassada através da inclusão, no modelo de otimização, de um modelo de tráfego agregado a nível de rede baseado no denominado diagrama fundamental, que determina as velocidades de circulação e os níveis de cruising-for-parking tendo em conta a procura de viagens de automóvel. Dada a complexidade do modelo, foi desenvolvido um método para o resolver baseado na combinação de um algoritmo de equilíbrio de tráfego com uma heurística de tipo greedy. A respetiva aplicação ao caso de Coimbra permitiu concluir que seria possível tornar o sistema de transportes públicos lucrativo. Uma heurística alternativa baseada num algoritmo de simulated annealing (SA) foi também desenvolvida para futura resolução do modelo anteriormente apresentado. Os algoritmos SA apresentam boas propriedades de convergência para um ótimo global, mas podem tornar-se muito lentos se se quiser garantir soluções de boa qualidade. Essa lentidão decorre do facto do algoritmo passar muito tempo a analisar soluções de baixa qualidade. Para contornar este problema, hibridizámos um algoritmo de cross entropy com um algoritmo SA. Os resultados obtidos através de um estudo computacional desenvolvido para um problema de localização de equipamentos indicam que o algoritmo híbrido melhora claramente a performance do algoritmo SA clássico. A integração de transportes públicos e estacionamento num mercado totalmente desregulado foi analisada através de uma abordagem por teoria dos jogos com dois estádios. O primeiro estádio tem como decisões a capacidade de estacionamento, a frequência dos transportes públicos e a dimensão da frota, ao passo que as decisões referentes aos preços são tomadas num segundo estádio, onde são assumidas como conhecidas e fixas as decisões tomadas no primeiro estádio. Cada estádio do jogo foi resolvido tendo em conta o conceito de equilíbrio de Nash. The Sourdun Internat d'Excellence (boarding school of excellence) was opened in September 2009. It concentrates significant resources on lower and upper secondary pupils from poorer backgrounds and at the median of the French attainment distribution. In 2009 and 2010, the boarding school received more applications than it had places. Die Politiken gegenüber der Pflege älterer Menschen in europäischen Wohlfahrtsstaaten waren in den letzten Jahrzehnten einem erheblichen Wandel unterworfen. Seit den 1990er Jah-ren haben viele Wohlfahrtsstaaten in Europa soziale Rechte im Hinblick auf öffentlich finanzierte Unterstützung und Bereitstellung sozialer Dienstleistungen im Bereich der Pflege älterer Menschen ausgeweitet. Darüber hinaus wurden in vielen Ländern Marktprinzipien in der Pflegepolitik einführt oder gestärkt. Die historische Entwicklung und länderspezifische Unterschiede im Hinblick auf die Ausgestaltung von Pflegesystemen sind national wie international bereits relativ umfassend erforscht. Es mangelt jedoch an Forschung, die die konkreten institutionellen Regelungen der Pflegepolitiken analysiert und ihren Wandel sowie internationale Differenzen erklären kann. Des Weiteren sind zentrale theoretische Konzepte, die zur Untersuchung von Pflegepolitiken verwendet werden (etwa das Konzept der Vermarktlichung oder der Ansatz der De-Familialisierung/ Familialisierung) teilweise nicht ausreichend dazu geeignet die Wirkungen der neuen Pflegepolitiken systematisch und differenziert zu analysieren. Darüber hinaus ist bisher noch wenig erforscht, in welcher Beziehung der Wandel der Pflegepolitiken in Europa mit dem übergreifenden Wandlungsprozess hin zur aktiven Sozialbürgerschaft steht. Die dargestellten Forschungslücken werden im Rahmen der vorliegenden Arbeit auf der Grundlage von drei zentralen Forschungsfragen adressiert. • Wie lässt sich der Wandel von Pflegepolitiken im Hinblick auf ihre Vermarktlichung im internationalen Vergleich erklären? • Wie unterscheiden sich die europäischen Pflegepolitiken in ihrer Ausgestaltung und wie lassen sich internationalen Differenzen in der Ausgestaltung und in den hypothetischen Wirkungen von Pflegepolitiken erklären? • Welche Folgen hat der Wandel von Pflegepolitiken in Europa im Hinblick auf das Konzept der aktiven Sozialbürgerschaft in europäischen Wohlfahrtsstaaten? Die Forschungsfragen werden auf der Grundlage eines theoretischen Rahmens beantwortet, der die Bedeutung von kulturellen Ideen, institutioneller Pfadabhängigkeit und Aushandlungsprozessen zwischen politischen Akteuren im Hinblick auf die Erklärung von institutionellem Wandel betont. Es wird weiter davon ausgegangen, dass Differenzen zwischen Wohlfahrtsregimen wie auch Differenzen in der Wohlfahrtskultur maßgeblich zur Erklärung von internationalen Differenzen in der Ausgestaltung der Institutionen beitragen. Die Erklärung von Differenzen der hypothetischen Wirkungen von institutionellen Settings basiert auf der theoretischen Annahme, dass Pflegepolitiken auf komplexen institutionellen Settings basieren, die in unterschiedlichen Typen von Wohlfahrtsstaaten variieren können, wobei Unterschiede in der Ausgestaltung maßgeblich zur Erklärung von Differenzen hinsichtlich der hypothetischen Wirkungen beitragen. Zur Beantwortung der Frage nach dem Wandel von Pflegepolitiken im Hinblick auf ihre Vermarktlichung im internationalen Vergleich (Forschungsfrage 1) werden Differenzen in den pflegepolitischen Institutionen analysiert, welche zu einer Stärkung von Marktprinzipien führen. Die Differenzen werden anschließend auf der Grundlage von Unterschieden in den vorausgegangenen Politiken, Unterschieden im Hinblick auf die Interessen der regierenden Parteien und Unterschieden in der Bedeutung von verschiedenen kulturellen Ideen im politischen Prozess erklärt. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass es nicht notwendigerweise eine enge Verbindung zwischen der politischen Ausrichtung von Parteien einer Regierung und den kulturellen Ideen zur Vermarktlichung von Pflege geben muss und dass sich kulturelle Ideen bezüglich der Pflegepolitik im politischen Prozess relativ selbständig entwickeln. Die Verbindung zwischen politischen Parteien und spezifischen kulturellen Ideen kann sich hierbei während der Prozesse verändern. Im Hinblick auf die Fragen nach den internationalen Unterschieden in der Ausgestaltung von Pflegepolitiken und ihren hypothetischen Wirkungen (Forschungsfrage 2) werden in einem ersten Schritt internationale Unterschiede in den Pflegepolitiken mit einem neuen theoretischen Ansatz zur Klassifizierung von unterschiedlichen Formen der Bezahlung von familialer Pflege analysiert. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass sich die Pflegepolitiken zur bezahlten Familienpflege im Hinblick auf den Charakter der Bezahlung in den untersuchten Ländern erheblich unterscheiden. Die internationalen Unterschiede im Hinblick auf die Ausgestaltung der Pflegepolitiken lassen sich hierbei nicht systematisch durch die Generosität der Politiken und den Wohlfahrtsregimetyp erklären. Unterschiede in der Wohlfahrtskultur der Untersuchungsländer tragen hingegen zur Erklärung bei. In einem zweiten Schritt werden internationale Unterschiede in der Ausgestaltung von Pflegepolitiken zur familialen und extra-familialen Pflege und ihre Wirkung auf Geschlechtergerechtigkeit analysiert. Die Analyse der institutionellen Differenzen unterstützt die theoretische An-nahme, dass der Grad der Generosität von Politiken im Hinblick auf die Förderung der familialen und der extra-familialen Pflege unabhängig variiert. Die Ergebnisse geben neue Einblicke in die Art und Weise wie Wohlfahrtsstaaten ihre Pflegepolitik ausgestalten. Zudem wird ein neuer Ansatz für die Konzeptionalisierung der Begriffe der De-Familialisierung und Familialisierung eingeführt, dessen Anwendung Konsequenzen für das Verständnis der neueren Pflegepolitiken und deren Folgen für die Geschlechtergerechtigkeit hat. Es wird gezeigt, dass sich das Verhältnis zwischen neueren Pflegepolitiken und Geschlechtergerechtigkeit besser analysieren lässt, wenn man die Bedeutung verschiedener Kombinationen von extra-familialer und familialer Pflegepolitik für die Gleichstellung der Geschlechter berücksichtigt. In einem dritten Schritt werden internationale Unterschiede in der institutionellen Ausgestaltung und Bedeutung von Märkten im Bereich der Pflegepolitik auf der Basis eines neuartigen analytischen und methodischen Ansatzes untersucht. Der Ansatz beruht auf der Annahme, dass die angebots- und nachfrageseitige institutionelle Ausgestaltung und Bedeutung von Märkten im Bereich der Pflegepolitik theoretisch unabhängig voneinander variieren. Es wird weiter angenommen, dass Unterschiede im Verhältnis der angebots- und nachfrageseitigen institutionellen Ausgestaltung und der Bedeutung von Märkten im Bereich der Pflegepolitik auch erhebliche Differenzen in den Wirkungen der Pflegepolitiken zur Folge haben. Die Ergebnisse der empirischen Studie stützen die theoretischen Annahmen. Vor dem Hintergrund, dass die Organisation und Erbringung von Pflege als soziale Dienstleistung nur in begrenztem Maße mit Marktprinzipien kompatibel ist, ergibt sich, dass die sozialen und ökonomischen Wirkungen von pflegepolitischen Institutionen entscheidend durch das Ausmaß der Marktregulierung beeinflusst werden, indem mit dem Ausmaß der Marktregulierung die an die Pflege geknüpften sozialen Risiken sinken. Bezüglich der Frage nach den Folgen des internationalen Wandels der Pflegepolitiken im Hin-blick auf das Konzept der aktiven Sozialbürgerschaft in europäischen Wohlfahrtsstaaten (Forschungsfrage 3) wird untersucht, wie sich verschiedene Typen von Wohlfahrtsstaaten hinsichtlich ihrer Nutzung des politischen Konzeptes der aktiven Sozialbürgerschaft unterscheiden. Im Rahmen einer differenzierten Analyse der Nutzung des politischen Konzeptes der aktiven Sozialbürgerschaft wird gezeigt, dass das Konzept in verschiedenen Wohlfahrtsstaaten auf unterschiedliche Art und Weise in der Sozialpolitik verwendet wird, wobei entweder die "self-reliance" der aktiven Sozialbürger auf der Basis einer schwachen Rolle des Wohlfahrtsstaates oder die "self-determination" auf der Basis einer starken Rolle des Wohlfahrtsstaates im Vordergrund steht. Unterschiede in der Art des Wohlfahrtsregimes und Differenzen in der spezifischen Wohlfahrtskultur, in die das politische Konzept zum aktiven Sozialbürger kulturell eingebettet ist, tragen zur Erklärung von internationalen Unterschieden in der Nutzung des politischen Konzeptes zum aktiven Sozialbürger bei. Die Dissertation leistet in mehreren Hinsichten einen innovativen Beitrag zur wissenschaftlichen Theoriebildung und Forschung in der Wohlfahrtsstaatsforschung. Es werden mehrere neue theoretische Klassifikationsansätze für den internationalen Vergleich von Pflegepolitiken vorgestellt, die auf neuartigen Ansätzen zur Operationalisierung und zur Messung der jeweils relevanten Variablen in den institutionellen Settings basieren. Des Weiteren werden internationale Differenzen von Pflegepolitiken und ihre Entwicklungen auf der Grundlage eines Erklärungsansatzes analysiert, welcher das Verhältnis von institutionellen und kulturellen Einflussfaktoren und die Rolle von relevanten Akteuren und ihren Machtbeziehungen in einer innovativen Art und Weise konzipiert. Außerdem werden die Wirkungen von Pflegepolitiken – im Unterschied zu herkömmlichen Ansätzen – unmittelbar auf der Ebene der institutionellen Regelungen und nicht auf der Ebene des "Outcome" untersucht. ; Policies towards long-term care (LTC) for older people in European welfare states have un-dergone significant change in recent decades. Since the 1990s many welfare states in Europe have extended social rights to publicly funded support and provision of social services for older people in need of care. In addition, market principles in LTC policies have been introduced or strengthened in many countries. The historical development and cross-national differences with regard to the design of care systems have already been the subject of extensive research both nationally and internationally. However, there is a lack of research that analyzes the concrete institutional arrangements of LTC policies and explains their change as well as international differences. Furthermore, theoretical concepts used to investigate LTC policies (such as the concept of marketization or the de-familialization/ familialization approach) are sometimes insufficient to systematically and differentially analyze the effects of new care policies. Moreover, there is little research about the relationship between the transformation of LTC policies in Europe and the overarching process of change towards active social citizenship. These research gaps are addressed in the context of the present thesis based on three main research questions. • How can international differences regarding changes in LTC policies in terms of their marketization be explained? • How do European LTC policies differ in their design and how can international differences in their design and in their hypothetical effects be explained? • What are the consequences of changing LTC policies in Europe with regard to the concept of active social citizenship in European welfare states? The research questions are answered on the basis of a theoretical framework that emphasizes the importance of cultural ideas, institutional path dependence and negotiation processes between political actors with regard to the explanation of institutional change. It is further assumed that differences between welfare regimes as well as differences in the welfare culture contribute significantly to the explanation of international differences in the institutional design of LTC policies. The explanation of differences in the hypothetical effects of LTC policies is based on the theoretical assumption that LTC policies are based on complex institutional settings that can vary in different types of welfare states. Differences in the design of the institutional settings contribute significantly to the explanation of differences in the hypothetical effects. In order to answer the first research question, differences in the LTC policy institutions, which led to a strengthening of market principles, have been analyzed. The differences are then explained on the basis of differences in previous LTC policies, differences in the interests of the ruling parties and differences in the importance of different cultural ideas in the political process. The results show that there is not necessarily a close connection between the political orientation of government parties and specific cultural ideas regarding the marketization of care. Cultural ideas regarding LTC policy develop relatively independently in the political process. Furthermore, the connection between political parties and specific cultural ideas can change during the process. The answer to the second research question involves three steps. In a first step international differences in LTC policies are analyzed based on a new theoretical approach to the classification of different forms of payment for family care. The results show that LTC policies on paid family care differ significantly in terms of the nature of pay in the countries studied. The international differences in the design of care policies cannot be systematically explained by the generosity of policies and the type of welfare regimes. However, differences in the welfare culture of the countries under investigation contribute to the explanation. In a second step, international differences in the design of LTC policies for familial and extra-familial care and their impact on gender equality were analyzed. The analysis of institutional differences supports the theoretical assumption that the degree of generosity of policies varies independently in terms of promoting familial and extra-familial care. The findings provide new insights into the ways welfare states shape their care policies. It also introduces a new approach to the conceptualization of the concepts of de-familialization and familialization. Its application has important consequences for understanding recent care policies and their implications for gender equality. It shows that the relationship between newer care policies and gender equality can be better analyzed by considering the importance of different combinations of extra-familial and familial care policies for gender equality. In a third step, international differences in the institutional design of LTC markets have been examined on the basis of a novel analytical and methodological approach. The approach is based on the assumption that the institutional design of LTC markets on the supply and demand side vary theoretically independently. It is further assumed that differences in the institutional design on the supply and demand side also lead to significant differences in the effects of LTC policies. The results of the empirical study support the theoretical assumptions. Given that the organization and provision of care as a social service is only to a limited extent compatible with market principles, it follows that the social and economic effects of LTC institutions are crucially influenced by the extent of market regulation. Social risks linked to LTC can de-crease with a strong regulation of markets. In order to answer the third research question, it is examined how different types of welfare states differ in their use of the policy concept of active social citizenship. A differentiated analysis of the use of the concept of active social citizenship shows that the concept is used in different welfare states in different ways in social policy with either a focus on self-reliance of active social citizens on the basis of a weak role of the welfare state or a focus on self-determination on the basis of a strong role of the welfare state. Differences in the type of the welfare regime and differences in the specific welfare culture, in which the political concept of active social citizenship is culturally embedded, contribute to the explanation of international differences in the use of the policy concept. This thesis makes an innovative contribution to scientific theorizing and research of welfare states in several respects. Various new theoretical classification approaches for the international comparison of care policies are presented, which are based on novel approaches to the operationalization and the measurement of relevant variables in institutional settings of LTC policies. Furthermore, international differences in LTC policies and their developments are analyzed on the basis of an explanatory approach that conceptualizes the relationship between institutional and cultural factors and the role of relevant actors and their power relations in an innovative way. In addition, the effects of LTC policies, in contrast to traditional approaches to nursing policy analysis, are examined directly at the level of institutional arrangements rather than on the level of outcomes.

ABSTRACT. This was a descriptive survey study design which sought to establish the school based factors that affect the learning of Kenyan Sign Language in primary schools for learners with hearing impairment in Embu and Isiolo counties in Kenya. The target population was all teachers teaching in primary schools for learners with hearing impairment in the two counties. From the selected schools, the study purposively and randomly sampled 2 head teachers and 8 teachers respectively. Interview guides were used to obtain data from the head teachers, questionnaires from teachers while observation schedules were used to obtain data on the general nature of the school environment. Quantitative data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics and tabulated in frequency tables, bar charts and pie charts while qualitative data were analyzed and presented in narrative form. The study findings revealed that all the sampled respondents had training in special needs education but only 25% had training in KSL as a subject. Basing on the findings the researcher recommends that the government through the MoE should increase the funding of these schools in order for them to have the adequate resources required, to put up and maintain good quality and adequate infrastructure, teachers teaching KSL should move further and make use of audio visual curriculum materials such as TVs and computers instead of only relying on the KSL dictionaries, charts and books. On the academic training of the KSL teachers, the TSC should post teachers trained in KSL to teach KSL among learners with HI and the universities should also introduce KSL as a teaching subject alongside other subjects like Mathematics, English, Kiswahili and the like. The researcher further recommends for the training of all stakeholders in education management since training the heads alone is not sufficient because school management is a team effort. ; RESUMEN. Este estudio se caracteriza como una investigación descriptiva que tuvo como objetivo señalar los factores escolares que influyen en el aprendizaje de lengua de signos en las escuelas primarias de Kenia para los alumnos con discapacidad auditiva en los municipios de Embu e Isiolo, Kenia. La población objetivo era que todos los maestros que enseñan en las escuelas primarias para los alumnos con discapacidad auditiva en ambas ciudades. Para la selección de las escuelas, el estudio seleccionado al azar 2 directores y ocho profesores asistentes, respectivamente. Las entrevistas se utilizan para obtener datos de los grandes maestros, cuestionarios para los asistentes de enseñanza, y también se utilizó para observar, con el fin de obtener datos sobre la naturaleza general del entorno escolar, locus de esta investigación. Los datos cuantitativos obtenidos fueron analizados utilizando estadística descriptiva y se tabulan en tablas de frecuencias, gráficos de barras y gráficos circulares mientras que los datos cualitativos fueron analizados y presentados en forma narrativa. Los resultados del estudio revelaron que todos los encuestados de la muestra fueron capacitados en educación especial, pero sólo el 25% tienen formación en KSL como sujeto. Con base en los hallazgos de la investigación, se recomienda que el TSC debe publicar sólo los profesores con formación en KSL para enseñar KSL a los estudiantes con entre HI y que las universidades deben presentar KSL como una disciplina de enseñanza junto a otras disciplinas como las matemáticas, Inglés y kiswahili. ; ABSTRACT. This was a descriptive survey study design which sought to establish the school based factors that affect the learning of Kenyan Sign Language in primary schools for learners with hearing impairment in Embu and Isiolo counties in Kenya. From the selected schools, the study purposively and randomly sampled 2 head teachers and 8 teachers respectively. Basing on the findings the researcher recommends that the TSC should post only teachers trained in KSL to teach KSL among learners with HI and that the universities should introduce KSL as a teaching subject alongside other subjects like Mathematics, English and Kiswahili. ; Fatores escolares que afetam a aprendizagem da língua de sinais de quenianos nas escolas primárias para deficientes auditivos em Embu e municípios de Isiolo, Quênia Este estudo se caracteriza como uma pesquisa descritiva que pretendeu apontar os fatores escolares que afetam a aprendizagem de Língua de Sinais Queniana nas escolas primárias para os alunos com deficiência auditiva nos municípios de Embu e Isiolo, no Quênia. A população-alvo foi todos os professores que ensinam nas escolas primárias para os alunos com deficiência auditiva nos dois municípios. Para a seleção das escolas, de forma aleatória o estudo selecionou 2 professores principais e 8 professores assistentes, respectivamente. Foram utilizadas entrevistas para obter dados dos professores principais, questionários para os professores assistentes, e também foi utilizada a observação, com o objetivo de obter dados sobre a natureza geral do ambiente escolar, lócus desta pesquisa. Os dados quantitativos coletados foram analisados por meio de estatísticas descritivas e tabulados em tabelas de frequência, gráficos de barras e gráficos de pizza enquanto os dados qualitativos foram analisados e apresentados em forma de narrativa. Os resultados do estudo revelaram que todos os entrevistados da amostra tiveram formação em educação especial, mas apenas 25% tinham formação em KSL como sujeito. Baseando-se nas conclusões do pesquisador, recomendamos que a TSC deve postar apenas os professores com formação em KSL para ensinar KSL entre os alunos com HI e que as universidades devem apresentar KSL como uma disciplina de ensino ao lado de outras disciplinas como Matemática, Inglês e Kiswahili. Uno de los habituales prejuicios a la hora de abordar el análisis del movimiento futurista, al igual que sucede con el constructivismo, es la consideración del contexto político en el que se desarrollaron ambas vanguardias. Sin embargo, y dejando a un lado un enfoque del arte con finalidad política de signo diverso, habría que insistir en el hecho de que posiblemente sean tanto el futurismo italiano como el constructivismo ruso, los movimientos que con mayor entusiasmo se manifestaron, en un sentido amplio, a favor de la modernidad. Filippo Tommaso Marinetti, auténtico catalizador del grupo futurista y uno de los mejores interlocutores del arte de vanguardia, será el encargado de articular la ideología del culto a la máquina en correspondencia con la necesidad de una intervención social. Esta polémica antipasado explícita en los términos franceses del `Passeisme' frente al `Futurisme'- se presentaba como la única posibilidad de una auténtica renovación y como una superación de los límites espacio-temporales. Antonio Sant'Elia, con sus conocidas ciudades de diferentes niveles de circulación, profetizaba algunas realizaciones de la segunda mitad del siglo, con dibujos caracterizados por prescindir del ornamento y optar por contundentes volúmenes. Por otro lado, en el campo de la tipografía se llevaron a cabo experiencias de contraste visual, tipología o disposición en el formato que se adelantaban a propuestas posteriores, buscando crear en el lector un intencionado impacto visual asociado a experiencias sensitivas con frecuencia desconcertantes. La misma búsqueda de soluciones novedosas y experimentales era planteada de igual forma en pintura con artistas como Gino Severini o Giacomo Balla, con trabajos que sin duda influirían en el origen y formación de movimientos como el rayonismo ruso o el vorticismo inglés. Sin embargo, a pesar de la fuerza implícita en sus planteamientos, los primeros pintores futuristas eran aún deudores del puntillismo y del cubismo, pero también de las fotografías estroboscópicas de Muybridge y Marey. En el campo de la escultura, Umberto Boccioni, con su conocida obra Formas únicas de continuidad en el espacio pasaba a convertirse en uno de los autores más representativos del futurismo al intentar descomponer el movimiento en las tres dimensiones espaciales. Luigi Russolo, personaje carismático y polifacético, artista plástico y músico inventó el intonarumori o `máquina de ruidos' y redactó, en el año 1913, el manifiesto del ruidismo, un documento que hizo acompañar con la máquina diseñada por él. La propuesta futurista iba desde el vestido, la publicidad o la decoración a la casa y la ciudad, pero sin dejar de lado las artes escénicas o la música; la idea de simultaneidad posibilitaba la superación de la representación tradicional, la cual era sustituida por una propuesta integradora de gran diversidad de estímulos que producían la exaltación de los cinco sentidos. El ya mencionado Sant'Elia, fue, sin lugar a dudas, el principal paladín del futurismo arquitectónico, quizás, y en parte, por la contundencia de su manifiesto. Sin embargo, las propuestas arquitectónicas futuristas tuvieron, al igual que sucedió con el cubismo, muchas menos materializaciones concretas de las que hubiese cabido esperar, lo que no significa que las repercusiones de estas pocas producciones en el posterior panorama arquitectónico no fueran concluyentes. Tradicionalmente se habla de dos tipos diferentes de futurismo arquitectónico: el milanés -de tintes racionalistas- y el romano, éste último con un mayor interés por las artes plásticas. En 1917 Volt, seudónimo del conde Vicenzo Fani, redactaba otro manifiesto de arquitectura futurista, en el que se abogaba por las formas dinámicas, asimétricas y anticúbicas, pero también por cromáticas viviendas sin fachada, `transportables' y `mecánicas'. Por último, ya en la etapa final del movimiento, Marchi publicaba, en la revista Roma futurista, el 29 de febrero de 1920 el ¿Manifesto dell'architettura futurista dinamica, stato d'animo, drammatica¿; algo después, hacia 1934, y durante el que se ha dado en llamar el `segundo futurismo turinés', Marinetti, Mazzoni y Somenzi redactaron el ¿Manifiesto futurista de la arquitectura aérea¿ que sería publicado en el número tres de la revista Sant'Elia-. Junto a Sant'Elia, otro autor de un notable interés por sus novedosas propuestas fue el polifacético Fortunato Depero, quien en el año 1927 proyectó el Pabellón del Libro para la casa editorial Bestetti, Tuminelli y Treves, en la III Bienal de Artes Decorativas de Monza; se trataba de un diseño cúbico de arquitectura publicitaria que tenía un claro referente tipográfico -el continente pasaba a tener la forma del contenido- y que sin duda resultaría provocador rodeado de pabellones historicistas. Otro autor de un enorme interés fue Virgilio Marchi, artífice del primer diseño arquitectónico futurista construído, la rehabilitación de la Casa de Arte y Teatro de los Independientes (Roma, 1921), encargo de Anton Giulio Bragaglia, un conocido empresario y crítico de arte. Marchi propuso para la arquitectura la idea de `escultura habitable', con un fuerte protagonismo de los estímulos sensitivos, fruto de impresiones ópticas y sonoras, referidos al proyecto de metrópolis moderna. También es destacable el papel desempeñado por Sartoris, a pesar de que su adhesión al futurismo se vió matizada por una estética purista preocupada por la articulación de la planta -proyectos como Capilla-bar futurista (1927) o Notre Dame du Phare (1931)- lo que significa que su ruptura con la tradición no fue tan radical como en el caso de los futuristas ; One of the habitual prejudices at the moment of approaching the analysis of the futurist movement, as it happens with the constructivism, it is the consideration of the political context in which both vanguards were developed.
