NATO's capability of being able to react rapidly and flexibly to crises is of particular significance in today's complex security environment. The NATO Response Force (NRF) provides NATO with the capacities required for that. The Bundeswehr makes contingents of the Army, Air Force, and Navy available for that purpose. The participation of the Air Force in the NRF constitutes a special challenge to the operating forces in the Air Force units and to the mission-essential logistics of the Air Force. lt requires the formation and the employment of contingents for the entire spectrum of military missions. This necessitates certain capabilities of the reported NRF forces which allow a quick deployment into the area of operations, logistic support, and which also ensure the sustainability of these forces. Introduction. The issues of formation of modern ideas about the actor structure and driving forces of influence in the global educational policy framework are considered. Topic. The understanding of global educational policy is formed in several contexts: as a function of the state; as the activity of non-governmental organizations; as a compromise between multidirectional groups representing the interests of different countries and others. Methods. The application of the multipolarity methodology as the main position for global educational policy is justified. Results. The significance of globalization for the education development is clarified, and its main drivers (political, economic, cultural, technological, and financial) are highlighted. It is shown that establishing the structure of actors is not enough to form a holistic view of global educational policy without specifying in a single methodological structure the reasons for changes in the type and composition of actors and the value of innovations in the future educational agenda. The authors highlight the driving forces that influence global educational policy: scientific and technological progress, transformation of the world economic system, and development of communications; dynamism of foreign policy strategies, which makes it possible to implement the concept of"competition through cooperation". It is proved that the set of possible actions of actors is realized through a sequence of scenarios (economic, institutional, and social scenarios) that lead to the formation of a globalizing scenario as an integral one. Discussion. The presented proposals to clarify the actor approach allow us to get away from the declarative nature and subjectivity of the justification of actors, combining the assessment of possible actions, policies and scenarios to obtain a methodologically significant identification of actors within the available set of knowledge in the chosen field-education.
This document delves into the transformative shift in military strategy towards Multi-Domain Operations, dictated by the fast evolution of warfare technologies and the complex nature of the contemporary battlefields. It outlines the historical progression of warfare from domain-specific tactics to the integrated approach of MDOs, emphasizing the importance of synchronizing operations across land, air, sea, space and cyberspace to achieve operational superiority. The air force's critical role in this paradigm is highlighted, including its capabilities in air and space superiority, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, rapid global mobility, and command and control. There are also discussed the challenges such as interoperability, technological adaptation and training for MDOs, as well as the future success of military operations which fosters collaboration and innovating training programs to effectively counter adversaries in this new era of warfare.
Household gender roles influence infant and young child feeding behaviours and may contribute to suboptimal complementary feeding practices through inequitable household decision‐making, intra‐household food allocation and limited paternal support for resources and caregiving. In Igabi local government area of Kaduna State, Nigeria, the Alive & Thrive (A&T) initiative implemented an intervention to improve complementary feeding practices through father engagement. This study describes household gender roles among A&T participants and how they influence maternal and paternal involvement in complementary feeding. We conducted 16 focus group discussions with mothers and fathers of children aged 6–23 months in urban and rural administrative wards and analysed them using qualitative thematic analysis methods. Most mothers and fathers have traditional roles with fathers as 'providers' and 'supervisors' and mothers as 'caregivers'. Traditional normative roles of fathers limit their involvement in 'hands‐on' activities, which support feeding and caring for children. Less traditional normative roles, whereby some mothers contributed to the provision of resources and some fathers contributed to caregiving, were also described by some participants and were more salient in the urban wards. In the rural wards, more fathers expressed resistance to fathers playing less traditional roles. Fathers who participated in caregiving tasks reported respect from their children, strong family relationships and had healthy home environments. Our research findings point to the need for more context‐specific approaches that address prevalent gender normative roles in complementary feeding in a variety of settings.
THE AUTHOR NOTES THAT ALTHOUGH IT IS WIDELY BELIEVED THAT THE U.S. NEEDS A RAPID DEPLOYMENT FORCE, NO ONE HAS DEFINED THE PURPOSES THAT AN RDF CAN BE EXPECTED TO SERVE, AND, LITTLE HAS BEEN WRITTEN ABOUT THE PROBLEM OF DEVISING A STRATEGY FOR ITS USE. HE DISCUSSES WHAT ENDS AN RDF SHOULD SERVE AND WHAT IS THE BEST STRATEGY IN DEALING WITH INTERNAL DISRUPTION, EXTERNAL SUBVERSION, AND INVASION.
The International Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes is the first original legal instrument of its kind adopted by the World Health Organization, in cooperation with UNICEF. The International Code, for the first time at the international plane, deals with a health issue that is of considerable importance to any society, namely, the healthy growth and development of infants. This volume is a thorough analysis of the provisions of the international code, and gives a detailed account of its history. The aim of the International Code and its material scope and definitions and certain known marketing practices to promote the use of breast-milk substitutes are described, as well as its implementation and the question of whether or not Member States of WHO are under a legal obligation to implement it. Modes of implementation are addressed, as is the monitoring of the International Code by States, individually and collectively, as well as self-monitoring by the infant-food industry, and the role of NGOs, institutions and individuals in the process. An appendix, containing the text of the International Code, and the relevant resolutions of the World Health Assembly and the Executive Board of WHO, a bibliography and a detailed index conclude the volume
