Education, from poverty to liberty: report for the Second Carnegie Inquiry into Poverty and Development in Southern Africa
This volume arising out of the Second Carnegie Inquiry into Poverty and Development in Southern Africa is concerned with the broad themes of education, poverty and inequality. The first part addresses particular aspects of education in contemporary South Africa. The second part places the question of education and redistribution in an international and a comparative perspective (case studies from Cuba, Tanzania and Zimbabwe). The final section raises some lines of strategic inquiry into an interpretation of a new, alternative and emancipatory educational culture
