Die wirtschaftliche Abhängigkeit Weißrußlands von Rußland, insbesondere im Energieträgerbereich, hat konservative Politiker in Belarus dazu bewogen, für einen Verbleib in der Rubelzone und eine Wirtschaftsunion mit Rußland zu plädieren. Während weißrussische Kritiker der am 12. April 1994 vereinbarten Währungsunion der beiden Länder einen Souveränitätsverlust des Landes befürchten, erwarten russische Kritiker des Vertrages demgegenüber einen Anstieg der Inflation in Rußland, da Weißrußland nicht im gleichen konsequenten Maße wie Rußland seine Wirtschaftsreformen betreibe. Wirtschaftliche Konzessionen beim Zustandekommen der Währungsunion scheinen im wesentlichen von weißrussischer Seite gekommen zu sein. (BIOst-Mrk)

The following results of our investigation were obtained: -The convergence, including economic convergence, its factors and indicators identified in the research can be used to analyze the process of economic development, which is especially important to national sustainability of the country; -The economic convergence of Lithuania in the context of EU-28 can help eliminate social exclusion in Lithuania and its regions; -We argue that there is a need for comprehensive analysis of economic convergence factors and their impact for economic development in Lithuania. -The above observations allow us to summarize that the determination of different types of convergence, various factors of economic convergence helps to increase economic harmonization in the EU-28, including Lithuania.

This final article on Russian information warfare presents policy recommendations that can be adopted to combat and respond to information warfare. Each case study exhibits unique circumstances that illuminate potential policy options for counteracting Russian disinformation campaigns. After analyzing both the successes and failures in each case study, the following policy recommendations emerged: transparency, preemptive information-sharing, media literacy campaigns, private-sector engagement, and multilateral cooperation. These policy recommendations provide a broad framework for all countries facing a similar threat.

World War II in general and Holocaust in particular are important topics of the debate in the Lithuanian public discourse. Due to that the Lithuanian and Russian press is seen by the author not just as a significant source of information, but also as a peculiar tool for structuring knowledge about Lithuania's historical past. The article reveals that the perception of Holocaust history is changing in the Lithuanian and Russian press in recent years by rethinking of the dominant Lithuanian historical narrative and representing diverse approaches to the role of Lithuanians in collaboration with the Nazi regime. The Holocaust Discourse is constructed as important experience in considering and strengthening the human rights protection discourse in Lithuania as well. The article is based on selected texts published in 2016 by online daily DELFI and printed newspapers in the Lithuanian and Russian languages (150 publications in total).
