The volume collects the contributions presented at the sixth Gretl Conference - which took place at the Department of Political Science, University of Naples Federico II, on June 13-14, 2019. Gretl (Gnu Regression, Econometrics and Time-series Library) is a free, open-source software for statistical-econometric analysis, written in C and available on different platforms. Born as a versatile teaching tool, in its 10 years of life it has grown enormously also as a research tool. The Conference saw the presentation of both theoretical and applied studies in order to share the latest software developments and new features. The volume includes 15 contributions by scholars on various topics, including Generalized Dynamic Factor Models, Propensity Score Matching, Space Models and Models for Ordinary Data, Cointegration and Boostrap techniques, which were accepted after an anonymous review process.

Accordingly, indices of power, in particular Banzhaf's index, were considered. In this paper we argue that in this context a power index should be a pair of real numbers, since this better highlights the power of a voter in two different cases, i.e., her being crucial when switching from being in favor to abstain, and from abstain to be contrary. We also provide an axiomatization for both indices, and from this a characterization as well of the standard Banzhaf index (the sum of the former two) is obtained. Gretl (Gnu Regression, Econometrics and Time-series Library) è un software per le analisi statistiche-econometriche gratuito, open-source, scritto in C e disponibile su diverse piattaforme. Nato come versatile strumento di didattica, nei suoi 10 anni di vita è cresciuto enormemente anche come strumento di ricerca. La Conferenza ha visto la presentazione di studi sia teorici che applicati al fine di condividere i più recenti sviluppi del software e le nuove funzionalità. Background: Despite major advancements in understanding of the factors associated with mental health in older adults, studies assessing positive behaviours, attitudes and virtues are still scarce in the literature. Aims: This study aims to investigate whether factors related to positive behaviours, attitudes and virtues are associated with mental health (i.e. depression, anxiety and stress) and satisfaction with life in Brazilian community-dwelling older adults. Methods: A population-based, cross-sectional study of Brazilian older adults who were users of the public health system and seen by Family Health teams was conducted in 2017. Instruments were applied to assess cognition, physical activity, sleep, quality of life, social support, religiousness, spirituality, satisfaction with life, resilience, altruism, volunteerism, loneliness, meaning in life and mental health (i.e. depression, anxiety and stress). Analyses were carried out using linear and logistic regression models. Results: A total of 534 (93.5%) older adults were included. Positive behavioural factors and values including volunteerism, meaning in life, resilience, peace, loneliness, faith and religiousness were associated with mental health outcomes (i.e. depression, anxiety and stress), as were traditional factors, such as sleep, gender, social support and cognitive state. Conclusions: Aspects related to positive behaviour, attitudes and virtues can impact the mental health of the older population. These results can serve to alert health professionals on the importance of addressing these factors and help guide the implementation of preventive measures and interventions for this age group.
