As we approach the 100th anniversary of the formation of the USSR, political, military, social, ethnic and other determinants of consolidation of the peoples and territories of the former Russian Empire within the Bolshevik state attract an increasing interest of academic community. In particular, special attention is drawn to the complex and controversial process of integration of the South Caucasus with Soviet Russia. Soviet historiography advanced an official view on the role of the Transcaucasian republics in the formation of the USSR, which came down to a number of ideological clichés that provided an impoverished and partly distorted image of this complex phenomenon. On the basis of a wide range of Soviet, Russian, and foreign researches, as well as recently published primary sources, the author examines the landmark events in the history of the states of the South Caucasus in the period preceding the formation of the USSR. The author highlights both similarities and differences in the views of Soviet and modern historians on the related issues, including the realization of the right to self-determination of the peoples of the South Caucasus in the first years after the October Revolution and the complex impact of international political situation on the regional developments. The author notes that the struggle for spheres of influence between world powers also affected all the Transcaucasian republics, although with different results. The author pays special attention to the process of Sovietization: in the Soviet historiography it was portrayed as a triumphal march of Soviet rule, but, as recent researches has shown, the Bolsheviks actually did not have a clear and consistent plan for the Sovietization of the Transcaucasian republics and the process was accompanied by dramatic events and conflicts. The assessments of the subsequent formation of the Transcaucasian Federation also differ significantly. The Soviet interpretation of this project emphasized its importance for eliminating the consequences of the Civil War and resolving inter-ethnic conflicts. Contemporary historians point to the fact that the unification process was imposed artificially, and even forcefully, according to some assessments, by Moscow, and its unifying effect was rather mixed. In this context, the author emphasizes the need for an impartial and balanced research approach towards the processes that took place in the Transcaucasian republics in the first post-revolutionary years in order to gain a better understanding of their role in the creation of the USSR.

The paper is devoted to the consequences of the choice among alternative procurement procedures in terms of cost and quality results of the complex projects implementation in the existing institutional environment of the Russian Federation. The empirical analysis, that was conducted on the procurement data in the field of metro construction within Federal law No. 223, showed that the auction's form despite the higher indicators of the level of competition at the bidding loses its efficiency by price criterion with increasing contract complexity and demonstrates consistently lower relative savings rate compared to request for proposals in the case of procurement of design, construction, and repair works. Moreover, the auction is characterized by higher indicators of contract completion delays, which have a critical role in the implementation of infrastructure projects. The approaches proposed in the paper and obtained results may be useful in the formation of planning methods for a wide class of projects in terms of procurement activity organization.

The article discusses the main provisions of the book "The response of Russian business to the COVID-19 pandemic (Six industry cases)" and, in this regard, the difficulties and prospects for the development of Russian companies and industries, as well as the national economy in general, under complex sanctions. The short post-crisis development of the six industries presented in the monograph and possible forks for companies and structural policy in the acute phase of the current crisis are analyzed. In addition, it is proposed to consider industries that have not fallen into the focus of the authors' attention, but are significant for indicating medium-term trends in the development of the Russian economy, such as the production of hydrocarbons, food products, ferrous and non-ferrous metals. On the basis of the results obtained in the book, current development trends at the global and national levels are highlighted. The article notes the need for an integrated approach to the elaboration of state policy and concludes on the possibility and directions for using the lessons of the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic, both by the state and business, to transform the principles of management in the new reality.

The aim of the paper is to study mythological transhumanism in the context of the problem of artificial life in the ancient world.
The relevance of this study is determined by the significant growth of the role of the posthumanism research in the context of the rapid development of modern high technologies. The study of the features of the mythological transhumanism representation in the ancient world reveals the archetypic patterns of ideas about the essence of human and the limits of humanity — both in traditional and in modern culture, and it provides an insight of the prospects of human existence. Still, there are few studies that reveal the presence or absence of ancient transhumanistic intentions in culture and analyze the ideals associated therewith.
Novelty. This is the first attempt of analyzing the issue of mythological transhumanism in the culture of the ancient world.
Research methodology. The author used comparative mythology, historical­genetic, structural analysis, semiotic, hermeneutic and axiological analyses within the framework of cultural studies.
Results. The phenomenon of mythological transhumanism and the problem of artificial life in the ancient world were studied. In contrast to the common scientific ideas implying that transhumanistic intentions of humanity and reflections on the creation of artificial life are a late cultural phenomenon, the research allows us to claim that mythological transhumanism is already represented in the archaic and ancient world culture. This suggests that transhumanistic thinking is universal in culture. It was found out that the archaic consciousness does not see fundamental difference between the subjects, which create artificial life. In archaic myths, it can be either a person or a demiurge — an ancestor or a deity. The binary opposition "man — god" and "alive — dead" is blurred in archaic thinking. Along with the clarification of hierarchical power structures in the worldview, the mythologeme of the divine creation of artificial life begins to dominate. In the mythology of the ancient world, the anthropogony of the demiurge is often regarded as unsuccessful: the demiurge is like a person and his actions are imperfect. The archetypic image of the "unfinished man", widespread in ancient myths, represents the ideas of modern posthumanists that human evolution should continue through the enhancement of "human nature" with high technologies.
The practical significance. The information of this article may be useful for the scholars, researchers of culture and for teaching various educational courses.

The aim of this study is to define the concept of the title museality, the selection and analysis of relevant works of the world literature both separately and as a unified group of narratives, and determining the existence of a separate literary trend.
Research methodology. The author uses analysis, synthesis, abstraction, concretization and generalization of scientific sources and literary texts with features of title museality.
Results. The main characteristic evidence of the concept of "title museality" is determined and a group of literary narratives is identified. These features correspond to: "The Heritage" by Siegfried Lenz (Germany), "Outside the Dog Museum" by Jonathan Carroll (USA), "The Night at the Museum" by Milan Trenc (Croatia), "Behind the Scenes at the Museum" by Kate Atkinson (Great Britain), "The Museum of Innocence" by Orhan Pamuk (Turkey), "The Museum of Abandoned Secrets" by Oksana Zabuzhko (Ukraine) and "Museum of Thieves" by Lian Tanner (Australia).
We considered and analyzed the museological features of each of these texts of the novel form, belonging to the seven national literatures of the world. The general and distinctive features of the considered works are revealed and their museological properties are established as a unified group of narratives. It is argued that the title museality is a trend in world literature of the last fifty years and this trend is steadily growing.
Novelty. An attempt is made to formulate a new museal­literary concept, to highlight and analyze the relevant literary works as a unified group of narratives and identify a certain trend in world literature.
The practical significance. The key results of this study can be used for further research of other literary works with signs of the title museum that is reviewed, and also other national literatures of the world. They also can be used in studying of museological aspects of the literary studies or literary aspects of the museology.

ABSTRACTThe accumulated copying error (ACE) model exploits the fact that limits to human visual perception introduce proportional copying errors during cultural transmission of a continuous trait, such as the length of a tool. Archaeologists have used ACE to infer the mechanisms of cultural transmission employed in the past. But ACE's predictions apply only under "idealized" conditions in which the population contains infinitely many vertical transmission chains and the continuous trait can take any positive value. Here, I relax each assumption to show: (1) the mean and variance of a vertically transmitted continuous trait are functions of population size and number of transmission events, and (2) functional constraints weaken the cumulative effects of proportional copying error. Incorporating the effects of population size and functional constraints in future work will reduce Type I errors (falsely rejecting a true null) when inferring the cultural transmission mechanisms responsible for population‐level variation in continuous traits. Global financial crisis of 2008–2009 demonstrated the need for reforms in the system of financial regulation. An institutional mechanism was created under the auspices of the G20 with the purpose to implement a global reform. In the article results of the postcrisis global financial reform are analysed in contingent with review of the evolution of institutional mechanism, which specifics often determined success or its absence in particular directions of the reform. The author selects and reviews three main periods of development of the global financial regulation's institutional mechanism. In the initial period – the first years after the crisis works were progressing in two directions simultaneously: a) co-ordination of activities of national financial regulatory bodies in coping with the crisis processes and neutralization of its consequences; b) development and reconciliation of major global standards of financial regulation. We can consider that period as successful because crisis processes were overcame in relatively short time, trade and currency wars were also avoided and at the same time international regulatory standards were widely agreed.The second period according to the author's classification (approx. 2012–2015) – transmission to the implementation of agreed international standards at the national and supranational (EC) levels. That time a range of difficulties and contradictions between leading countries revealed. First of all these problems related to the spheres where the regulations of transnational activities of financial institutions had to be agreed. As the author shows exactly in that time a problem of the so-called asymmetrical sovereignty in the financial policy aggravated.The third period is continuing in the present time. During this period, from the one side, the global financial regulation expands its coverage according to emergence of new challenges, but from the other side the interest to the reform is being loosing and the trend to increase of the independence of the national financial regulators is expanding. So the threat to fragmentation of the international financial markets and revision of already agreed regulatory standards became not illusive.Special attention in the article was paid to analysis of the problem of regulating the shadow banking or non-bank financial intermediation (NBFI), which are till now largely outside of the regulatory mandate of the governance bodies. Rapid growth of transactions by the latter, according to the author's opinion, is a threat to the global financial stability especially taking into account such factors as its close interconnectedness with traditional financial institutions (banks), exposure to the bank-like risks, the wide implementation of financial innovations for making new unregulated products.Investigating new challenges beyond the perimeter of the post-crisis reform the author came to the conclusion that implementation of financial technologies as well as the necessity to take into account ecological and social factors require serious transformation of the global financial system as well as it's regulation. Taking into account the global nature of new challenges the need for international co-operation of financial regulatory bodies will be continued.

The dynamism of the development of modern political systems is due to the influence of global processes of informatization and globalization. They define new standards of society, aimed at increasing the level of stability and order as the basis of progressive socio-political development. The processes of political modernization are an effective mechanism for the practical implementation of qualitatively new changes related to the structural and content-based updating of political systems, the creation of opportunities for the development of a social and legal state and civil society. In the course of institutionalization, the political elite acquires stable structural and functional characteristics that determine the features of intra-age interaction, specify the procedure of political activity and technological tools necessary for optimization of the set goals and objectives. The high level of institutionalization in the political system allows the elite to demonstrate subjectivity in initiating and practical implementation of national modernization projects. The level of institutionalization of the elite, its subjectivity in the implementation of modernization transformations can be improved due to: 1) update of the staffing of the status-role grid by attracting the potential of youth leaders and conducting of lustration; 2) creation of conditions for forming a regime of partnership cooperation with civil society and business structures on the basis of mutual recognition of obligations and responsibilities regarding the modernization of the political system in the conditions of global development; 3) formation of an effective institutional environment that will increase the level of openness of intra-age interaction, optimize communication practices with civil society and provide sequences of procedural and technological aspects of the process of political modernization; 4) initiating a national modernization project that is in line with the current trend of global development; 5) activating the mobilization and consolidation potential of civil society through raising the level of national consciousness and political identity. ; Динамічність розвитку сучасних політичних систем обумовлена впливом світових процесів інформатизації та глобалізації. Політична еліта в ході інституціоналізації набуває стійких структурно-функціональних характеристик, що визначають особливості внутрішньоелітної взаємодії, конкретизують процедуру політичної діяльності та технологічний інструментарій, необхідний для оптимізації поставлених цілей та завдань. Високий рівень інституціоналізації у політичній системі дозволяє еліті проявляти суб'єктність щодо ініціювання та практичної реалізації національних модернізаційних проектів. Підвищенню рівня інституціоналізації еліти, її суб'єктності в здійсненні модернізаційних перетворень можуть сприяти: 1) оновлення кадрового складу статусно-рольової сітки за рахунок залучення потенціалу молодіжних лідерів та проведення люстрації; 2) створення умов формування режиму партнерської співпраці з громадянським суспільством та бізнесструктурами, на засадах взаємного визнання зобов'язань і відповідальності щодо модернізації політичної системи в умовах глобального розвитку; 3) формування дієвого інституціонального середовища, що дозволить підвищити рівень відкритості внутрішньоелітної взаємодії, оптимізувати практики комунікації із громадянським суспільством та надати послідовності процедурно-технологічним аспектам процесу політичної модернізації; 4) ініціювання національного проекту модернізації, що відповідає сучасним тенденція глобального розвитку; 5) активізація мобілізаційного та консолідаційного потенціалу громадянського суспільства через підвищення рівня національної самосвідомості та політичної ідентичності.

The article actualised the book of the Ukrainian sociologist Mykyta Shapoval "The Great Revolution" (1928), which deals with the events in Ukraine, to which the author was a participant ten years ago (1917–1920). The scientist analyzed and generalized social processes and phenomena on Ukrainian ethnic lands; showed the features of the social structure and the attitude of social groups; the activities of political parties and leaders; in a separate section revealed the phenomenon of bolshevism. The article gives a generalized comparative description of Ukrainian politicians of the times of the revolution, given by theircontemporary, associate and opponent - N. Shapoval, who became a historian of the revolution. Unlike "occasional people" in the revolution, M. Shapoval - the theorist of the revolution formulated the requirements for a real leader-politician, which have not lost theirrelevance to this day. ; У статті актуалізовано працю українського соціолога Микити Шаповала "Велика революція" (1928), де йдеться про події в Україні десятилітньоїдавнини (1917–1920), учасником яких був автор. Вчений проаналізував і узагальнив суспільні процеси і явища на українських етнічних землях;показав особливості соціальної структури й відносини соціальних груп, діяльність політичних партій і лідерів; в окремому розділі розкрив феномен більшовизму. У статті наведено узагальнену порівняльну характеристику українських політиків революційної доби, дану їхнім сучасником, соратником, опонентом М. Шаповалом, що став істориком революції. На відміну від "випадкових людей" в революції, М. Шаповал – теоретик революції сформулював вимоги до справжнього політика-провідника, які досі не втратили своєї актуальності.

Under conditions of a global development processes of political systems modernization acquire all the more significance, while they contribute to necessary transformations with the aim of adaptation to challenges of environment through making structural meaningful transformations. It actualized the need of research of the subject of modernization activity, which in the process of institutionalization acquires the necessary resources and procedures for its effective implementation.The processes of institutionalization of the political elite are conditioned by: the strengthening of the professionalization of the political field of activity; the social need for the formation and regulation of the rules of interaction; the need to legitimize the status and procedures of the activity; the presence of structural and functional potential, needed to influence the functioning of the political system. The evaluation of the level of institutionalization of the elite in the processes of modernization of the political system is based on the criteria of adaptability, complexity, autonomy, cohesion, congruency, exclusivity.The high level of institutionalization of the Germany's political elite in the processes of modernization allowed to restore the sovereignty of the state, to ensure the appropriate level of democracy, social orientation of socio-political and socio-economic development, consolidating the leading position in world politics. This was facilitated by: 1) the existence of transparent rules of incorporation and intra-elite interaction, their compliance with the Constitution; 3) the use of structural and functional potential and resources for raising standards of public life; 4) the development of the ideas and symbols aimed at consolidating society in order to achieve the strategic goal; 5) initiation of the strategic project of modernization; 6) the sequence of the procedure for the practical implementation and optimization of the project with the help of political technologies. The experience of institutionalization of the political elite of Germany is quiet relevant for Ukraine in the context of modern political reality. ; В умовах глобального розвитку процеси модернізації політичних систем набувають все більшого значення, оскільки сприяють здійсненню необхідних перетворень з метою адаптації до викликів навколишнього середовища через здійснення структурно-змістовних внутрішніх перетворень. Це актуалізує необхідність дослідження суб'єкта модернізаційної діяльності, який в ході інституціоналізації набуває необхідних ресурсів та процедур для її ефективного здійснення.Процеси інституціоналізації політичної еліти обумовлюються: посиленням професіоналізації політичної сфери діяльності; суспільною потребою формування та регулювання правил взаємодії; необхідністю легітимації статусу та процедури діяльності; наявністю структурнофункціонального потенціалу, необхідного для впливу на функціонування політичної системи. Оцінювання рівня інституціоналізації еліти в процесах модернізації політичної системи здійснюється на основі критеріїв адаптивності, складності, автономії, згуртованості, конгруентності, ексклюзивності.Високий рівень інституціоналізації політичної еліти Німеччини у процесах модернізації дозволив відновити суверенітет держави, забезпечити відповідний рівень демократичності, соціальної орієнтованості суспільно-політичного та соціально-економічного розвитку, закріпивши провідне становище в світовій політиці. Цьому сприяли:1) наявність прозорих правил інкорпорації та внутрішньоелітної взаємодії, їх відповідність Конституції; 3) використання структурнофункціонального потенціалу та ресурсів для підвищення стандартів суспільного життя; 4) вироблення ідей та символів, направлених на консолідацію суспільства заради досягнення стратегічної мети; 5) ініціювання стратегічного проекту модернізації; 6) послідовність процедури практичної реалізації та оптимізації проекту за допомогою політичних технологій. Досвід інституціоналізації політичної еліти Німеччини є досить актуальним для України в умовах сучасної політичної дійсності.
