; Traditionally, philosophers have maintained stances that have influenced our comprehension of the topics proper to other human disciplines such as: politics, biology and theology. Thus, for example, the soul-boy dualism had a special reception in psychiatric studies, as evidenced by the current terminology with which mental disorders are described. However, such dualism has been discredited by recent phenomenological investigations, carried out by authors such as Maurice Merleau-Ponty and Maxine Sheets-Johnstone. Having this in mind, my aim here, after offering a detailed analysis of phenomenology, is to provide a phenomenological understanding of the human body and the autism spectrum disorder. This way, it will be allowed to recognize the privileged role that has the intentional body in human cognition and its pathologies. ; Maestría
