This work can be understood as a response to the widespread use of the social web as a means of communication and a framework of respect and coexistence between students and teachers. As a result, this text emphasizes the need for a framework of a pedagogical model and an instructional design that integrate the social web. This paper also raises the need for an analysis of the necessary conditions for the validation of that model. Finally through a system based on experience, a series of responses to the failure of political institutions that consider modalities of integration is suggested, as well as their impact. The paper provides the processed results and the conclusions drawn from research on the preferences of the early adopters of social web included in the learning management through instructional design practices. The final purpose is to offer the university teaching community proposals, recommendations, models and the state-of-the-art in terms of teaching and development in the practice of innovative teachers

By linking the experiences of immigrant families with the increased reliance on cheap and flexible workers for care and domestic work in Southern Europe, this study documents the lived experiences of neglected actors of globalization migrant women as well as the transformations of Western families more generally. However, while describing in detail the structural and cultural contexts within which these women have to operate, the book questions dominant paradigms about women as passive victims of patriarchal structures and brings out instead their agency and the creative ways in which they
Two parties bargaining over a pie, the size of which is determined by their previous investment decisions. The bargaining rule is sensitive to investment behavior. Two games are considered. In both, bargaining proceeds according to the Nash Demand Game when a symmetric investments profile is observed. When, on the other hand, an asymmetric investments profile is observed, we assume that bargaining proceeds according to the Ultimatum Game in one case and according to a Dictator Game in the other. We hereby show that in both games when a unique stochastically stable outcome exists it supports an homogeneous behavior in the whole population both at the investment stage and at the distribution stage. A norm of investment and a norm of division must therefore coevolve in the two games, supporting both the efficient investment profile and the egalitarian distribution of the surplus, respectively. The two games differ depending on the conditions needed for the two norms to coevolve. The games are proposed to explain the social norms used in modern hunter-gatherer societies.

"This book explores how neoliberalism and austerity have affected older people living within a deindustrialised town, utilising a Foucauldian approach and an ethnographic methodology, It seeks to bridge the gap between high sociological theory and a research focus upon older people. The link between the micro (real people, within a real place) and macro (abstract processes) is examined, and a mid-range theory of change is innovatively developed in order to highlight how older people are having to negotiate national transformations at the everyday level. Key themes within this book include the recreation of human subjectivity, anti-welfarism, the stigmatisation and exclusion of the poor, the fragmentation of the working class, and nostalgia. Innovative terms such as 'stigma-adaptation' and 'abnormal abnormality' are included to help deepen our knowledge and understanding of the social sciences, to highlight the injustices caused by current global processes, and to ultimately inform change. This book will be of interest to scholars and students across the social sciences, particularly those studying inequalities in the modern world, neoliberalism and the economy, social theory, ageing and older people and community studies, and postgraduates who are seeking to undertake applied research. It would also be valuable for policymakers and service providers"--
; Late prehispanic times at Yocavil valley, Northwestern Argentina, was characterized by the growth of big population centers and the development of extended political organization. • Summary: Using Ghana as an illustrative case study, this article examines the ideology and intentions which underpin the Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper required for approval by the IMF and World Bank to qualify for debt relief under the Highly Indebted Poor Countries initiative. This article critically examines the functions assigned to governmental and non-governmental agencies within the social sector generally and the Department of Social Welfare specifically. Conditions at the Department of Social Welfare are explored through data gathered from semi-structured interviews with frontline social workers. These document the day-to-day realities of social work practice in Ghana and the relationship of the Department of Social Welfare with the non-governmental sector in the delivery of welfare services. • Findings: Social workers at the Department of Social Welfare report chronic under-funding which undermines even the most rudimentary activities. They also describe difficulties in holding NGOs to account due to the lack of logistical support and the inability to enforce compliance with statutory requirements. • Applications : Across the sub-Saharan region are government departments responsible for the delivery of social services and operating within the social policy frameworks created by the Poverty Reduction Strategy Papers required for debt relief. Evidence produced by this case study has implications for similar sub-Saharan countries implementing a social policy based on the neoliberal precepts if the New Policy Agenda.

PurposeThere has been great interest in social enterprise as an innovative response to challenging social problems, where mission and market are intertwined in a hybrid organization. The purpose of this paper is to provide students with a rich learning experience about social enterprises and how a social entrepreneur balances the double bottom line while trying to create social value.Design/methodology/approachThe teaching case study was developed using personal interviews with the founder, board of directors and employees of the organization, observations and materials from the organization.FindingsThe findings from the field show that it is one thing to design a social enterprise that fulfils a social mission, quite another to make it sustainable. At the end of the 2005, the founder of Appalachian By Design (ABD), Diane Browning was faced with the difficult task of improving the financial condition to save the organization. The epilogue and detailed teaching notes provides insights into the impact of the organization on creating job opportunities for rural women in a shifting global economy.Practical implicationsThis longitudinal descriptive case study provides social enterprises with the lessons learned and raises questions that all social entrepreneurs face when developing a social enterprise. The case provides a detailed analysis of the organization development and sustainability which will assist social entrepreneurs in addressing these issues early in the organizations development.Originality/valueThe value of the case of Appalachian By Design to the field is providing a robust analysis of the issues facing social enterprises and building a business model that sustains social value.
