The clash of interests of the leading world states in the Arctic region ; Зіткнення інтересів провідних держав світу в Арктичному регіоні
The article is devoted to the analysis of the current political situation in the Arctic region. In the modern world there is an active formation of a new geopolitical area with its own regional policy, population and culture – the Arctic. The development of this territory by the leading countries of the world causes the gain of conflicts in this region. In the presented article the author examines the politics of Canada, US, Norway, Denmark and the Russian Federation in the context of the separation of issues related to the clash of interests in the region and to the identification of areas for further cooperation in the formation of a joint, balanced policy of international cooperation from the side of the leading countries in the world. In the article there is emphasized that the relevance of this issue is caused by global warming, which provides opportunities for energy production and the development of new transport routes and also the uncertainty of the legal status of the Arctic leads to strengthening of the conflicts in this region. These factors lead to encroachment of other countries and organizations on mastering of this area. Except the Arctic countries, including Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Canada, the USA, Norway, Denmark and Russia ambitions also demonstrate China and the EU. The Arctic today is a socio-economic, socio-cultural, ethnic and geopolitical space around the North Pole, acts as the object of management of the Arctic states and the subject of the regulation of international law. In the Arctic region, there are eight states - Russia, the USA, Canada, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland. InArchitect states, the territories of which directly adjoin the Arctic. Among them, Canada, the United States, Denmark, Norway and Russia play a leading role. In the modern Arctic, one of the most difficult geopolitical situations in the world is formed. The common space of the Arctic states, shaped into a single Arctic region, has huge reserves of natural resources and a unique geographic location on the way to the development of new transport routes. All of this increases the geopolitical significance of the region and leads to a collision of interests of the leading powers of the world, manifested in the political confrontation and intensification of conflicts between countries. The increased interest from the countries to the Arctic began to emerge due to global warming in the world. This contributes to the fact that the waters of the region can be free from ice from one month to almost the entire summer period. New prospects and opportunities are opened up to countries, and along with them rivalry for access to resources of the Arctic region. Competition is gaining momentum every day. An international dispute over the right to develop minerals on the Arctic day, the same gas and oil, exacerbates political confrontation. More and more countries want to take part in issues related to the use of the riches of this region. Today, many states want to join the Arctic Council and join in solving issues related to the distribution of territory and resources. Thus, the Arctic becomes one of the central themes of great global politics, which attracts attention not only to new opportunities but also to the challenges of the collision of the interests of the leading countries of the world in this region. ; Статтю присвячено аналізу сучасного політичного становища в Арктичному регіоні. У сучасному світі спостерігається активне формування нового геополітичного простору зі своєю регіональною політикою, населенням та культурою – Арктики. Освоєння цієї території провідними державами світу спричиняє посилення конфліктності в даному регіоні. У представленій статті автором розглядається політика Канади, США, Норвегії, Данії та Російської Федерації у контексті виокремлення питань, пов'язаних зі зіткненням інтересів у регіоні та визначенням напрямків подальшої співпраці у формуванні спільної, збалансованої політики міжнародного співробітництва зі сторони провідних держав світу. У статті наголошується, що актуальність даного питання обумовлена тим, що глобальне потепління, яке надає можливості для видобутку енергоносіїв та розвитку нових транспортних шляхів, а також невизначеність правового статусу Арктики приводить до посилення конфліктів у даному регіоні. Ці фактори спричиняють зазіхання й інших держав та організацій на освоєння даної території. Окрім приарктичних держав, серед яких Швеція, Фінляндія, Ісландія, Канада, США, Норвегія, Данія та Росія амбіції проявляють також Китай та ЄС. ; Статтю присвячено аналізу сучасного політичного становища в Арктичному регіоні. Ці фактори спричиняють зазіхання й інших держав та організацій на освоєння даної території. Окрім приарктичних держав, серед яких Швеція, Фінляндія, Ісландія, Канада, США, Норвегія, Данія та Росія амбіції проявляють також Китай та ЄС.
