The migration experiences of Aussiedler: Family reunification and networks ; Les expériences migratoires des Aussiedler : Regroupement familial et réseaux
Is migration of Aussiedler from Romania structured by migrant networks? While little work has been done in terms of 'ethnic migration', it appears that the emergence of this flow, in the immediate aftermath of the Second World War, is primarily a matter of family reunification, caused by the arrival in Germany of soldiers and displaced persons of war. Migration dynamics therefore precede and support the ad hoc legal provisions which, as early as 1953, have given it a legal existence. Despite the effectiveness of this policy, migration requires, in order to remain in the long term, the intervention of relational networks between the FRG and Romania by migrants and their relatives. These networks play both in Romania's departure from Romania and in the establishment in Federal Germany. The experiences and experiences of Aussiedler from Romania ultimately lead to the conclusion that this migration is very much based on the interpersonal dynamics within the migration group. More broadly, migration policy and networks prove to be complementary and interlinked resources in the implementation of the migration project ; International audience Is the migration of Aussiedler from Romania structured by migrant networks, or not? The migration dynamics thus comes before the legal provisions of 1953, which legalize and support the migration. Despite this efficient policy, the migration needs, to be maintained, the networks bounded between FRG and Romania by the emigrants and their relatives.
