Demonstrated is a revision of the logic-of-capital approach to law & economy that stresses historical contingency, the potential for alternative causal directions, & the efficacy of differentially located actors. The approach is employed in an analysis of the role of the Price-Anderson Act (PAA) in privatizing nuclear power after WWII. The legal requisites for facilitating privatization are specified & analyzed in their political & economic context. An historical account of the history of the PAA & of the privatization of the industry are provided, especially relative to the limiting of liability for private firms. The conditions under which liability is limited by law, especially with potentially devastating technologies like nuclear power, are discussed. 1 Table, 94 References. D. Dennis
