In this article, J. Curtain focuses on the legal implications of the participation of the Member States in the European Union and the problems raised by membership, which are often poorly perceived by lawyers. He considered it essential to present as fully as possible the various situations prevailing in all the Member States in order to measure the difficulties encountered, the solutions provided and the persistent mismatches. Il considère comme essentiel de présenter aussi complètement que possible les différentes situations prévalant dans tous les Etats membres afin de prendre la mesure des difficultés rencontrées, des solutions apportées et des inadéquations persistantes.
