This book provides an in-depth look into the cognitive and argumentative nature of political discourse with a focus on the role and place of conceptual metaphors in practical argumentation. Neagu's empirical investigation centres on the corpus of the American Presidential debates in 2008 and speeches by Barack Obama from 2009-2011

Students and whoever might be looking to understand the context and issues generated by the COVID-19 pandemic will find in this paper a micro-research that highlights the role of faith and family in the development of resilience in adolescents with a predisposition to anxious and depressive behavior. As shown by the works of research cited here and feedback from our respondents, faith manifested in moral values through personal acts, or the participation in community life through religious and spiritual practices is a means toward developing resilience in youth and creating a feeling of belonging and solidarity. This research paper also highlights that both the nucleus family and the expanded family offer a supporting and learning environment that is adjustable, where youth can find resources and strength to build a dignified and safe life.

This paper is a review for the volume "Philanthropy and professionalized social services in the Romanian Orthodox Church. Sociological research conducted in the Archdiocese of Iaşi" published by PhD Lecturer Petronela Polixenia Nistor at "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University Publishing House from Iaşi in 2020.
Due to human activity, there are some changes in the composition of surface waters, especially near the industrial plants and cities. Wastewater, insufficiently treated, affects negatively the quality of the emissary they reach. The discharge of poorly treated municipal sewage and industrial surface waste water has serious consequences for the natural phenomenon of self-purification, water Borcea branch and the Danube are now reaching the limits of the natural possibilities of biogeochemical balance recovery. In the present study two sources of waste water were taken into discussion, with important contribution of pollutants reaching the terminal basin of the Danube from the Waste Water Treatment of Călărași town and a meat processing plant, representative for the businesses in the county. The indicators followed in the study were: chemical consume of oxygen, biochemical consume of oxygen, ammonia nitrogen, total phosphorus. In recent months, by the rehabilitations that have been already made in the treatment plant, the water quality discharged into the environment improved, from physical chemical point of view. From the evolution of the main indicators analyzed, it is found out a decrease in content of organic substances and water eutrophication agents (total phosphorus and ammonium ion),  their  values reaching nearer to the standards required by  the legislation in force.

A growing number of households benefit from government subsidies to install renewable generation facilities such as PV panels, used to gain independence from the grid and provide cheap energy. In the Romanian electricity market, these prosumers can sell their generation surplus only at regulated prices, back to the grid. A way to increase the number of prosumers is to allow them to make higher profit by selling this surplus back into the local network. This would also be an advantage for the consumers, who could pay less for electricity exempt from network tariffs and benefit from lower prices resulting from the competition between prosumers. One way of enabling this type of trade is to use peer-to-peer contracts traded in local markets, run at microgrid (&mu ; G) level. This paper presents a new trading platform based on smart peer-to-peer (P2P) contracts for prosumers energy surplus trading in a real local microgrid. Several trading scenarios are proposed, which give the possibility to perform trading based on participants&rsquo ; locations, instantaneous active power demand, maximum daily energy demand, and the principle of first come first served implemented in an anonymous blockchain trading ledger. The developed scheme is tested on a low-voltage (LV) microgrid model to check its feasibility of deployment in a real network. A comparative analysis between the proposed scenarios, regarding traded quatities and financial benefits is performed.
