The development of the Soviet successor states in Central Asia: Its implications for regional and global security

Die Sonderveröffentlichung enthält die Referate der gemeinsam vom Moskauer Staatlichen Institut für Internationale Beziehungen (MGIMO) und dem BIOst vom 16. bis 18. September 1994 in Moskau organisierten Konferenz zu Sicherheitsaspekten der Entwicklung der früheren sowjetischen zentralasiatischen Republiken. Während auf russischer Seite überwiegend Experten aus dem Bereich der außenpolitischen Forschung und Planung anwesend waren, bestand die Gruppe der westlichen Teilnehmer aus wissenschaftlichen Spezialisten für den Bereich der zentralasiatischen Republiken bzw. die Sicherheitspolitik der GUS sowie aus Repräsentanten politischer Institutionen, beispielsweise der KSZE oder des Auswärtigen Amtes in Bonn. Auch Teilnehmer aus den zentralasiatischen Republiken, insbesondere aus Kasachstan und Kyrgyzstan, waren mit Referaten auf dieser Konferenz vertreten. (BIOst-Mrk)
