Background: Non-pharmacological treatment for schizophrenia includes educational, psychotherapeutic, social, and physical interventions. Despite growing importance of these interventions in the holistic treatment of individuals with schizophrenia, very little is known about their availability in South-East European countries (SEE). Objective: To explore mental health care experts' opinions of the availability of non-pharmacological treatment for people with schizophrenia in SEE. Methods: An online survey containing 11 questions was completed by one mental health expert from each of the following SEE countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina (B&H), Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Kosovo†, Montenegro, Moldova, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, and Slovenia. Data were collected on estimated rates of received non-pharmacological interventions, type of services delivering these interventions, and expert views of availability barriers. Results: In eight countries, the estimated percentage of people with schizophrenia who receive non-pharmacological treatments was below 35%. The primary explanations for the low availability of non-pharmacological treatments were: lack of human and financial resources, lack of training for clinicians, and pharmacotherapy dominance in the treatment for schizophrenia. Conclusion: Lack of personal and institutional resources and state support were identified as primary obstacles to staff training and delivering non-pharmacological treatments to people with schizophrenia on individual and systemic levels, respectively. This evidence can be used to improve holistic, evidence-based treatment for schizophrenia in the SEE countries.

The article presents intermediate results of an experimental research into psycholinguistic characteristics of understanding multimodal texts with extremist content. Forensic linguists specializing in extremism, well-informed and poorly informed in extremism discourse non-experts had to assess and comment upon multimodal texts. The peculiarities of interpretations have been established. The comprehension of sense in a multimodal text is constructed from established meanings of individual text components and detected semantic connections between them. Semantic and grammatical coordination of meanings of text components was the main mechanism of interpretation. The authors have performed the results of quantitative as well as qualitative analysis of experimental data using linguistic semantics methods. The indicators confirming the effectiveness of the expert assessment are given. The data presented confirm that forensic assessment of a multimodal text is influenced by presence or absence of both professional and general discourse knowledge. Both experts and non-experts have been proved to interpret multimodal texts using the semantic and grammatical coordination mechanisms. The correlation between these mechanisms and distorted text comprehension has been established. The factors of non-forced expert mistakes have been determined as excessive habit of interpretation, predominance of expert experience in assessment of materials of a particular discourse and priming effect. The results of the study can be used to develop science-based methods and recommendations on methodology of forensic analysis of extremist texts for experts.

C'est en mobilisant le modèle dispositionnaliste et contextualiste que nous avons cherché à comprendre le changement de mode de déplacement ou changement modal. À partir d'une étude de cas, celui de Guillaume, nous avons pu montrer que son engagement dans la pratique du covoiturage en tant que conducteur par l'intermédiaire de la plateforme BlaBlaCar résulte à la fois de la constitution, au cours de sa socialisation, des principales dispositions appelées par cette pratique (disposition à être économe, disposition ascétique, goût pour les échanges avec des inconnus) et du contexte (dimensions professionnelle, conjugale, familiale) agissant sur les déplacements et leur perception. La pratique intensive du covoiturage entre inconnus peut créer des dispositions, en renforcer d'autres. Un changement de perception du trajet lié à son motif peut également conduire à une mise en veille de dispositions fortement constituées.

Methodological literature dealing with the challenges in sampling, recruiting and engaging research participants for qualitative interviews usually assumes that potential informants are informed. But what happens when the potential informants make it clear that they have little to say because under-informed on the topic? This article explores the challenges in recruiting and engaging under-informed research participants by revisiting my fieldwork experience as a researcher for the ERC-funded project GRASSROOTSMOBILISE – Directions in Religious Pluralism in Europe. The article describes potential interviewees' claims of under-information as a specific type of reluctance, displaying in both the recruitment and the interview processes, and discusses the potential strategies to overcome this reluctance by paying attention to the role of researchers.

Research into the role of implicit theories in decision-making covers a broad area ranging from personal to political relationships, and from private to professional life. To date, translation studies have paid little attention to the influence of translators' knowledge and beliefs in the translation process, and even less to the role of implicit theories. In a pilot study with translation trainees, we attempted to reconstruct their theories about translation and discern to what extent these theories influence both the translation process and the translated text. Our results so far show that trainees do entertain initial implicit theories, which can be modified through experience and formal instruction. These initial implicit theories mainly focus on the notions of transfer and change, and do not reflect the complexity of translation phenomena. With regard to the translation process, our analysis of corrections as well as the length and structure of text-production segments suggests that the informants approach translation at a micro level, which may be partly due to the influence of their concept of translation as transfer. This pilot study is part of a broader research project that analyzes the evolution of initial implicit theories about translation as a result of experience and formal training, and to what extent changes in the theoretical framework of translation trainees can bring about changes in the way they translate ; La investigación del papel de las teorías implícitas en la toma de decisiones cubre áreas tan dispares como las relaciones personales y la política, la vida profesional y la privada. Los resultados, hasta el momento, muestran que, en efecto, los estudiantes poseen teorías implícitas iniciales y que estas teorías pueden cambiar por efecto de la instrucción formal y de la experiencia. El mayor número de estas teorías iniciales se centra en los conceptos de traslado y cambio, y no reflejan la complejidad del fenómeno de traducir. En lo que concierne al proceso de traducción, el análisis de las correcciones, y también de la longitud y la estructura de los segmentos de producción textual, sugiere que los informantes lo abordan en el nivel micro, lo que en parte se puede atribuir a su concepto de la traducción como traslado.
