(AuD-Fsk)

This article reconstructs the concept of right-wing extremism/radicalism. Using Mudde's influential 1995 study as a foundation, it first canvasses the recent academic literature to explore how the concept has been described and defined. It suggests that, despite the frequent warnings that we lack an unequivocal definition of this concept, there is actually a high degree of consensus amongst the definitions put forward by different scholars. However, it argues that the characteristics mentioned in some of the definitions have not been organized meaningfully. It, therefore, moves on to distinguish between the defining properties of right-wing extremism/radicalism and the accompanying ones, and in so doing it advances a minimal definition of the concept as an ideology that encompasses authoritarianism, anti-democracy and exclusionary and/or holistic nationalism.

As part of a larger research project about right-wing extremism and its causes and countermeasures, this article assesses the quality of existing evaluation studies in Switzerland, Germany, the US and other countries in order to synthesize their results. It presents the results of a meta-evaluation of measures against right-wing extremism in areas including education and social work. The meta-evaluation follows the professional evaluation standards of the Swiss Evaluation Society (SEVAL Standards). Analysis of the quality of selected evaluation studies in the field of measures against right-wing extremism allows for an assessment of the value of their results. The meta-evaluation covers 12 evaluation reports, enabling a description of the current practice of evaluation of measures taken against right-wing extremism in selected countries. The article also presents evidence about the usefulness of the SEVAL Standards in an applied setting. Thus the article provides background information on both evaluation of measures against right-wing extremism and the applicability of evaluation standards.

Examines the ideological elements & political goals underpinning the internationalization of the right-wing extremist infrastructure, stressing the German, US, & British scenes. The structure of the international right-wing extremist network is then described, highlighting the neo-Nazi movement, pan-Aryan internationalism, & Holocaust revisionism. International networking bolsters the right-wing extremist infrastructure, fosters propaganda, & allows activists to identify with a global cause. Right-wing resistance to globalization is briefly addressed. J. Zendejas
Hauptbeschreibung: Right-wing extremism is a phenomenon that can be found throughout Europe. All democratic societies are threatened by racist, anti-pluralistic and authoritarian ideas. Even though the so called "radical right" differs in character and ideology in the various European countries it strives to restrict civic and human rights as well as to change the constitutional structures that are based on the principles of democracy and liberty. Individual European countries deal with this challenge differently. The various policy approaches found in these countries are a good source for devel
It is a fact that in the European Union there is a strengthening of right-wing extremism, radical right movement, populism and nationalism. The consequences of the economic crisis, such as a decline in living standards, losing of jobs, rising unemployment especially among young people, undoubtedly goes in favor of strengthening the right-wing extremism. In the research, forms of manifestation will be covered of this dangerous phenomenon and response of the institutions. Western Balkan countries, as a result of right-wing extremism, are especially sensitive region on possible consequences that might occur, since there are several unresolved political problems, which can very easily turn into a new cycle of conflicts, if European integration processes get delayed indefinitely.
