Studies on Emotional Intelligence (EI) have demonstrated the concept's potential in accounting for a broad range of health-related outcomes. Preliminary evidence associates measures of EI with disordered eating and other related behaviors. This study proposed a mediation effect of perceived control in the above association. We hypothesized that (a) EI will positively associate with perceived control and (b) perceived control will associate positively with Anorexia and negatively with Bulimia symptomatology. One hundred and thirty young adults residing in Israel filled out measures assessing Anorexia (drive for thinness), Bulimia, perceived control, and EI (two measures). The results lent only partial support to the hypotheses: EI showed a nonlinear association with control, which in turn showed nonlinear association with Anorexia scores, and contrary to our hypothesis, positive association with Bulimia scores. A Sobel test supported the mediation models for both eating disorder measures. The results are discussed and future research is proposed to further examine this hypothesized mechanism.
This article suggests that IBS, and its relationship to disability studies, can be better understood by examining the rhetorics surrounding gastrointestinal (GI) disorders. To understand the function of GI rhetorics, I examine three rhetorical sites: (1) communal meal settings and the rhetorical politics of food refusal; (2) historical and contemporary texts that gender gastrointestinal distress; and (3) rhetorics of cure and control in advertising for GI-related products, particularly Zelnorm and Activia. The article concludes that changing attitudes about gastrointestinal disorders is not so much about controlling our bodies, but reclaiming the rhetorics of these disorders.
The main aim of this work is to investigate the existence and approximate controllability of mild solutions of impulsive fractional nonlinear control system with a nonsingular kernel in infinite dimensional space. Firstly, we set sufficient conditions to demonstrate the existence and uniqueness of the mild solution of the control system using the Banach fixed point theorem. Further, we prove the approximate controllability of the control system using the sequence method.
CONTROL OF THE PSYCHIATRIC DISORDERS IN THE REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA Ramov Leonid; Markovski Velo ; Faculty of medical sciences UGD – Stip, Macedonia Introduction: The Psychiatric disorders are a large number of disorders which affect the mental and the behavioral function. Their etiology is rarely affiliated with some organic disorder, rather with a subjective perception or a disorder originating on a molecular level in some parts of the CNS. For their pathogenesis the key mechanisms are related with the environment and the psycho-physical development of the individual Aims: How much are these disorders present in the Republic of Macedonia? How is the healthcare system in Macedonia handling these disorders? Materials and Methods: In order to answer our aims we collected date from the institute of public health of the Republic of Macedonia, whose research from 2011 yielded some useful information about the incidence and hospitalization, which was put in a table. We confirmed the politics of the WHO on the healthcare ministry website www.moh.gov.mk. And in order to compare the results we used similar data from the Center of disease control from the USA Results and Discussion: With the acquired data we got the number of patients being treated in the Republic of Macedonia and also that they are being treated by the standards of the WHO. We also found lack of information and public awareness of the people about these kinds of issues and also information about cases of a particular disease of this type. Compared with the data from the USA Center of disease control it had both the percentage about adults which is 18.5 of the population being affected and the population of children which is 13%. They also separated the racial groups. In our institute they only had info about patients visiting a doctor related to a mental disorder, which is 5,9% (148120) of the population and from whom 2,8 %(7035) are being hospitalized. These results are showed in the following tables and graphics. Conclusions: These disorders are present in Macedonia with a percentage of 5,9 % of the population in general and 2,8 of them are being hospitalized. The Healthcare of RM is dealing with these disorders according to the WHO and has a lower incidence then the USA according these results. The institute of public health of the Republic of Macedonia does not have published info about the number of reported cases for particular mental disorders. International audience ; The problem of output stabilization is studied for a class of linear hybrid systems subject to signal uncertainties: linear impulsive systems under dwell-time constraints. Two problems are considered. First, an interval observer estimating the set of admissible values for the state is designed. Next, an output stabilizing feedback design problem is studied where the stability is checked using linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). To the best of our knowledge, interval observer approach has never been proposed for the stabilization of this class of hybrid systems. Efficiency of the proposed approach is demonstrated by computer experiments for Fault Detection and Isolation (FDI) and Fault-Tolerant Control (FTC) of a power split device with clutch for heavy-duty military vehicles.

This volume contains standards and goals that deal with virtually every facet of the matter of disorders and terrorism. They are aimed at civil authorities, police, courts, corrections, and the community. There are explicit proposals for training police and law enforcement agencies in preventive measures that can be taken against mass violence, for the tactical management of disorders, and for the deterrence of terrorism as well as the evaluation of threats of acts of disorders and terrorism. There are very detailed plans that the police in state and municipalities will find most useful during times of rioting or other extraordinary social upheavals. The task force has written extensively on the role the courts should play during and after such occurrences, including recommendations on how to deal with trials of cases arising out of incidents of terrorism. There are also suggestions for the news media to follow in the reporting of occurrences and of the trials that follow. The number of prison disorders in recent years has produced a response from the task force in terms of institutional conditions and correctional objectives, particularly with respect to persons convicted of terrorist acts. The appendixes contain articles dealing with an overview of international terrorism, terrorism and new weapons technology, and terrorism in Argentina, Canada, and West Germany. There is also a chronology of terroristic, quasi-terroristic, and political violence in the United States, covering the period from 1965 to 1976 ; Includes indexes ; Includes bibliographical references (pages 597-634) ; Statement of the administrator / Richard W.
