The subject of the article is perspective development directions within special economic zone in Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol city. After holding the referendum on joining of the peninsula to the Russian Federation, the leadership of the country faced with the task of development of the region, one of the main instruments for which was the creation of special economic zone. Even before joining, the economic level of Crimea was among the least developed Russian regions. Financial, economic and military-political crisis in Ukraine has exacerbated its economic position. In 2014, there was decline in production, foreign trade reduced multiply, and tourists flow decreased. In addition to exacerbation of the existing problems (short tourist season, homogeneous tourists flow, dependence on supplies of water and electricity), new ones appeared: growth of food prices, deteriorating ability to attract credit resources and the level of banking services, the need to re-register enterprises and associated downtimes. The purpose of this work is to propose basic development directions within the special economic zone. The methodological base of the research is comparative analysis, cause-effect relationships, as well as historical method. The author indicates the most perspective development directions for the residents within the SEZ. They include tourism, manufacturing (food and chemical industry, mechanical engineering), as well as agriculture. The author gives advice on potential areas for investment in the tourism industry: hotel business, restaurants and entertainment, passenger transportation. At the same time due to several factors development of innovative industries and commercial ports is prejudiced.

It also deals with the key actors and the main processes of nation-building before and after the Tatar repatriation in Crimea. The chapter discusses the religious revival and the subsequent paradoxical effects of Islam upon Crimean Tatar identity-building. The Crimean Tatar leadership's response was to introduce the notion of Tatar Islam' as an opposite trend to foreign Islam' defined as fundamentalist, anti-state and anti-democratic. The Tatar national movement is not immune to political power struggles between different Tatar groups, between central and regional authorities, and between pro-Russian and pro-European forces in Crimea and Ukraine. The marginalisation of the Crimean Tatar Mejlis is likely to lead to further radicalisation in Crimea, increasing political instability and the risk of perpetuated conflict in the region. © 2016 Rico Isaacs and Abel Polese.

In the wake of Russia's annexation of the Crimean Autonomous Republic, some scholars and analysts of international relations rushed to proclaim the inauguration of the new world order. In this paper, I argue that such claims are mistaken and groundless. Further, Russia's actions in the peninsula do not represent a stratagem of geopolitical expansion and pose no implications for the global balance of power. Of course, Russia's annexation of Crimea was in severe violation of international law. Nevertheless, only careful and informed analysis of the political coup that ousted the government of Yanukovych and familiarity with Crimea's history can illuminate one's understanding of the causes of the territory's decision to secede from Ukraine's authority and reunite with Russia.

The main directions for improving systemic and structural organization of public power in ARC. ; Проведен анализ сущности власти в АРК, ее основных структурных составляющих; рассмотрены элементы структуры органов власти автономии, взаимодействие между ними, а также с иными подсистемами власти, функционирующими на территории АРК, – государственной и муниципальной. Предложены основные направления по усовершенствованию системно-структурной организации органов публичной власти в АРК. ; Проведено аналіз сутності влади в АРК, її основних структурних складових; розглянуті елементи структури органів влади автономії, взаємодія між ними, а також з іншими підсистемами влади, що функціонують на території АРК, − державною й муніципальною.
