Abstract
Under the conditions of indebtedness & long-term economic stagnation & inflation, the post-1983 democratic government of Argentina had few options. Currently national economic policy is shackled to the interests of the dominant financial oligarchy & its financial creditors; thus, democratization does not imply reassertion of national sovereignty. On the contrary, limited democracy is viewed as the optimal political form of a conservative debt economy controlled by the International Monetary Fund, despite heterodox stabilization concepts. By renouncing the current economic order, internal debate & social restructuring may be possible. Modified HA
