Abstract
A study of 33 countries globally with a high dependence on minerals, including 18 in Africa, showed that existing critical propositions about mining have failed to explain the differences in outcomes between those countries that suffered from the 'resource curse' & those that did not. this article explores the subject, using case studies of Tanzania & Ghana.
