Abstract
The domestic and international upheavals of the past year have prompted the Peking regime to raise the subject of co-operation with mainland China's "democratic" parties. These non-communist parties are quite different from Western political parties, having long been manipulated by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). At present, there are eight such non-communist parties in mainland China. The author examines the relationsship of these parties with the CCP. A brief history of these parties since 1922 is narrated.
