Lessons of success from False Creek South and Granville Island

Two manifestations are the creation of the unique inner-city neighbourhood of False Creek South in Vancouver, B.C. and Granville Island, an arts and public market precinct that is surrounded by the neighbourhood. This article examines the factors that enabled these innovative planning projects to occur, why replicating them might be challenging, and what new innovations may be emerging. ; Les années 1970 ont été une période politique exceptionnellement fertile en matière de logement et d'urbanisme au Canada. Deux manifestations sont la création du quartier du centre-ville unique de False Creek South à Vancouver, en Colombie-Britannique. et Granville Island, un quartier des arts et des marchés publics qui est entouré par le quartier.
