Abstract

[ES] Los autores parten de analizar el rol de los movimientos sociales en el surgimiento de la democracia en Costa Rica en los años 30 y 40, luego analizan el proceso de la cooptacián de los movimientos sociales por el Estado democrático y la consiguiente pérdida de vitalidad y autonomía de aquellos. Finalmente plantean el problema de que si bien esto no ha debilitado la confianza en las instituciones democráticas sí ha debilitado el contenido social de la democracia. ; [EN] The authors analyze the role of the socíal movements in the emergence of the democracy in Costa Rica in the 30's and 40's. The they analyze the process of the democratic State's cooptation of the social movements and the next lost of vitality and autonomy of these. Finally, the focused in the problem of the weakening of the confidence in the democratic institutions and the weakening of the social contents of the democracy.
