Abstract

[EN] Through this sculptural-pedagogical series is proposed, first of all, an approach to educational research based in the visual arts and utilizing sculpture as a research method, as an expressive medium, and as language. Secondly, a proposal of education through artistic methods is provided from a sculptural-pedagogical standpoint that highlights discursive forms of art as a means of both learning and teaching. The artistic teaching methods that can be extracted from artistic processes form the basis of this proposal. Our approximation is considered, to some degree, from an a/r/tographic point of view given that it unites creation, educational research and teaching. Our position is one of criticism, art, teaching, and therefore politics; a consideration of educational and artistic questions through conceptual, pedagogical and sculptural structures set out with the intention of giving rise to the development and creation of new visual metaphors, new reflections and methodologies, both for the teaching of art and based in art itself. If we intend to teach through art, without losing its essence, while at the same time seeking to generate active knowledge, perhaps we have to adjust our educational and artistic processes and open this medium to educational experience. In order that the learning of art, and indeed learning in general, be produced in the most suitable way, it is necessary to face the process of teaching and learning aesthetically and as a whole, interpreting it as a work of art, taking care over its shape, its form, its meaning and the kind of experience it produces.
