Founding Father: Alcide De Gasperi (1881-1954), Italy
Abstract
After WWII, De Gasperi would become the Prime Minister, where he would be responsible for reconstruction of his country's democracy and economy. A strong advocate for European cooperation, he served as a mediator between Germany and France, and he also supported the idea of the European Economic Community.
