INSPECTORATE ROLE IN LOCAL GOVERNMENT SUPERVISION IN THE MENTAWAI ISLANDS
Abstract
To create a good and clean governance, supervision is very important that the aims and objectives that have been set can be achieved. Inspectorate Mentawai Islands is the government's internal watchdog agency has the task to supervise the conduct of government business in the area and carry out development on the regional administration. The problem in this study is 1) How the duties and functions of the Inspectorate supervision Mentawai Islands, 2) what are the constraints faced, 3) what efforts were made inspectorate Mentawai Islands to overcome obstacles encountered in the implementation of the supervision. This study used socio-juridical legal research methods research approach that examines the perception of the behavior of people (human or legal entity) and the effectiveness of the public enactment of positive law in the society. This descriptive study is to provide an overview of the issues examined. Sources of data obtained through interviews, and conduct library research and legislation. Data were analyzed qualitatively by describing and explaining in accordance with the problems associated with this research. The results showed that the Inspectorate of the Mentawai Islands area has been performing their duties and functions under the laws and regulations applicable ungdangan. However, in practice not implemented optimally. This is due to the constraints that hinder the achievement of maximum results in accordance with the plan. Various constraints such as limited personnel resources, the delay time and the still weak enthusiastic examination / inspection of the response of an object to follow up the results of the examination.
